Cheese crisp. Didn't really like it...
    Abdullah A.

We don't have Taco Treat in Seattle, but everyone I spoke to in Great Falls seemed fond of it so I gave it a spin. My friend recommended that I get two beef tacos with extra lettuce and a cheese crisp. I was surprised when my total came out to over $7, as this would have been like $3-$4 at a Taco Bell, but I understood when I got my food. The tacos are large, and the shells are somewhere in limbo between hard and soft. It was a great texture for a taco shell. Inside there was lettuce, beef, and cheese. Everything was ok, but I found it a bit bland. I didn't care for the cheese crisp, which was essentially just a tostada with a bunch of cheese melted onto it, but it came in handy to mop up all the toppings that had fallen out of my tacos. I was full after the meal, but in the future I'll probably stick with Taco Bell.

Cheese Crisp. I could eat my wife's sandals if drenched in this wonderful house Taco Sauce.

If you're looking for classic Mexican, this is not it. What has kept us coming back for 30+ years are their Indian Tacos drenched in their addictive Taco Sauce. The taco is a slab of Indian Fry Bread topped with meat and fresh ingredients. As I dribble a small river of their house taco sauce over top, I never fail to get a "Taco Treat" flashback to the first one I enjoyed. They have remained consistently great over the years. As for the rest of their menu, eehh.

    Yum!!

The Jose Salad is delicious and the Salsa Verde very good. Service is excellent. The prices are fair

Done with my childhood favorite. I will no longer pay 3 bucks for a taco that has a few spoonfuls of meat in a tortilla with lettuce

Almost as bad as Tacos Del Sol, but the food was served warm. That's. It. Terrible as well, and not in any sort of way "Mexican."

I get nauseated just thinking about the smell of the food. How does this place stay open? Why do people eat this greasy slimy garbage?

The food is also consistently delicious and the service is consistently friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is upbeat with Mexican music playing. It has an ambiance that creates a comfortable environment sitting and talking with friends or loved ones while enjoying authentic Mexican food. I've noted some of the low reviews and they generally seem to be posted by people traveling through. I can only say I am not originally from Great Falls. I grew up all over the world. I began eating Tex-Mex as an 8 year old in San Antonio, Texas. If that doesn't form a person's palate for what true Tex-Mex tastes like, then nothing will. La Cocina's kitchen staff knows exactly what they're doing and they do a great job. Sure, it might not be as spicy as one might find in San Antonio, but the spices used are exceptionally flavorful and appropriate, especially for Great Falls clientele, which, after all, is the target customer base. If you're as adventurous as I am and just like eating something super spicy, they provide El Yucateco Chile Habanero sauce right at the table! The food is served piping hot every time. This place deserves 5 star reviews all day long. Writing this review has made me hungry. I'm definitely heading back to La Cocina for lunch today.

No offense to the workers they seemed very nice for the most part ... My waitress was a blonde woman who had fast service and brought my mixed drinks out with speed . Other than the "authentic" food I think everything else is cool. Nice decor nice gambling area and nice bar as well too And in my opinions the shredded chicken puffy taco was far better than the ground beef dog food style meat ALSO THEY SERVE A DAMN WHOLE BED OF LETTUCE AND CHEESE ON TOP OF THE TACO WHICH TAKES AWAY FROM MEAT PORTIONS INSIDE OF IT .... Do with this informations what you will maybe I'm biased...
