After dining at one of the worst cheesesteak restaurants in philly i decided i needed something to sate my appetite and tacobees caught my eye almost instantly. The name tacobees is interesting and honestly what made me swerve in their direction. This location seems to be on the newer side and had a good trail of business coming and going which was a good sign. this trip became a must after our search for good philly cheesesteak was a bust. upon entering we were greeted by staff and welcome to a well kept on the smaller side dine in and/or takeout restaurant that at first glance gave off chipotle vibes but please don't think ill of the comparison this establishment is better than chipotle hands down. with a wide variety of options to choose from we decided we'd take our food back home and enjoy it there so we went with something simple and this is what we got. we ordered a honey chipotle chicken burrito and loaded it with a handful of toppings including mexican street corn, fresh house-made pico, black beans, lettuce, queso and shredded 3 blend cheese along with a few other ingredients and got a iced matcha coconut drink on the side. my gf really enjoyed the iced coconut matcha and we both enjoyed our burrito! the first couple bites i felt like it was just another chipotle style restaurant but the more i ate the better it got, the flavor was unique and incomparable to anything ive eaten similar i was impressed! the price is good/fair and the quality is worth every penny. the staff were assistive and kind when prepping our food. if i was a local Tacobees would make a pretty penny off of me alone. can't wait to eat here again! -also sorry i forgot to take photos of the food but the burrito was beautiful and i visually savored it's girthy beauty before we devoured it! read more

Ordered takeout but the restaurant has a lot of seating and a nice feel to it. Feels clean and staff are friendly enough but are always busy with orders. Food tastes great and tons of options to customize. Great spot for a quick takeout or even dine in meal. All ingredients taste fresh and the shrimp I ate had a nice crispy outside. read more

I ordered some burritos and they were scrumptious. Except the pinto beans. those were very under cooked, at least I could tell it's too batches, because some melted in my mouth and others I had to discard. Overall, the flavors were on point, the honey chicken was amazing and although there was little lettuce, I was shocked about that part, they packed it with loads of rice. I didn't notice much of the salsa but I did taste the mango salsa... just couldn't see hunks of tomatoes or mangoes. I'll definitely order more. read more

So hard to find a proper crunchy taco anymore! I loved my 3 tacos and my burrito bowl, so much that I forgot to take photos before I'd already eaten about half! The Berria tacos are good too, also started to dig in before I could get a proper photo. Everything was fresh and the workers were super fast but not rushing you. There was a bunch of take out orders too while we were eating. We found street parking but I can see how that's hit or miss in Olde City. Heard of the location in Brooklyn and was excited for a new halal spot to make it's way to Philly. Ordered a steak burrito. Most of the burrito was rice, there was very minimal steak included. The tortilla itself is really nice and soft. Kind of disappointed with the ratios of the fillings and probably will not order again. read more

While scrolling on Instagram, a post came up on my feed about the Grand Opening of this place for today(Saturday). It's a Brooklyn-based spot and this is it's first location opening outside of NYC. With them having a special of a free bowl for every customer, I figured why not check it out. As you drive by and walked up, hard to miss it since they had music playing and balloons to signal it's opening. Got in there and saw the DJ to my left - the music selection was good. This spot is a pretty decent size and setup of your typical fast-casual restaurants - large windows letting a ton of light in, wooden/metal tables either booth style or high tops. There was a line but they had a really good process going, so it only took me maybe 5 or 6 minutes to get up to order. They have the line setup for you to make your selections easy - similar to a Chipotle, Qdoba or Naf Naf. Since they were offering a Grand Opening special for their bowls, I got that. I chose mexican rice as my base with black beans and topped it with half grilled chicken/half chipotle chicken, romaine lettuce, corn salsa and pico, guacamole, cheese and chipotle sauce. When I got back to try it, I was pleased with it. Food tasted pretty fresh, tasty and they gave good servings of everything. A more local fast casual restaurant to consider in the city. I would go back to try on a normal day and see what other options are like. read more

This place is good! I wasn't that hungry so I got the 2 kids tacos with the honey chipotle chicken. It came out to 9 and change and was more than plenty for lunch. They have a bowl for 9.99 during 3pm-5pm. The honey chicken was really stacked on the taco and tasted better than chipotle. Tacobees is a solid Halal fast-casual styled Mexican restaurant like Chipotle and Qdoba, but with several more options, especially in the protein department. They have several types of chickens, some seafood options, and several vegetarian options. The service is always reasonable (as much as you'd expect for fast casual) and the food is always fresh. Would recommend again. What you didn't come here for: - Water: We didn't ask but there doesn't appear to be a sane way to request a water cup. And even if there was, high odds it wouldn't be clean. - Restrooms: There is a single occupancy restroom - Seating: There are high tables and low tables throughout the restaurant, enough for everyone to get a seat. - Will it fill you up? Yes, it's enough for a single meal. - Accessibility: The entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible including into the restrooms. I had a terrible experience with Tacobee's I ordered online and received my food quickly, but the tres leches cake I was given was spoiled. The moment I took a bite. I immediatelv gagged. I didn't notice the smell at first because I had a stuffv nose, but mv coworker confirmed it smelled awful. When I called the restaurant. the issue was brushed off Instead of taking responsibilitv. I was offered more cake which makes no sense after I just ate spoiled food. When asked for a full refund. I was refused This is completely unacceptable. Serving spoiled food is a serious health risk, and the way this was handled was just as bad. Saw this come across my IG reels and knew I had to come try it! From the jump the smells are amazing, it was a little packed so behind the counter they were busy but when it came to making my burrito the worker didn't hold back! Both servings were hefty and it did not lack flavor. The habanero sauce I got in the burrito was very flavorful and great spice. Got cilantro sauce on the nachos and it was good too! I was so disappointed here. Before time of free food( they start 3-6 for free opening foods but I was here around 2) so I checked menu and I ordered make my self salad. I didn't ask much to worker who make food because I got menu menu. But usually worker tell us what is this and that. I didn't enjoy the seasoning they use on their meats. The flavor doesn't pair well with Tex Mex flavor profile I prefer. The food is insanely good! Had it delievered and as soon as my daughter brought the bag inside I could smell the food and my mouth started to water. The chicken Birria were on point and the crispy tacos were packed in a container that kept them separate from each other which i absolutely loved! The guacamole and chips were top tier! I was hesitant to order the guacamole cuz I'm particular. But it did not disappoint. The food has Mexican flavors, the veggies are fresh and colorful, and the choice of sauces adds a lot of flavor. I'm a fan of the mango or the cilantro sauce. In a neighborhood filled with cheesesteak and pizza joints, Tacobees is an especially great find for locals who are starving for something quick and healthy. I first found Taco Bees when I'd come back from school in New York. I live off the L train near 2nd st, so I'm used to places that stay open late -- something Philly seriously lacks. Most spots here shut down early, but Taco Bees is different. They actually stay open until 3 a.m., which already makes them a lifesaver. When you walk in, the place is clean and smells great. I usually get the build-your-own burrito bowl with shredded beef, shrimp, rice, and beans -- and it always hits the spot. The food's solid, fresh, and reasonably priced. It's also halal, which shows the owner really thought about the community. You can tell he understands what people want -- he treats Philadelphia like a real city, not a sleepy town.
