I love Tacodeli breakfast tacos. It's really the best breakfast tacos and glad they opened a couple places in Dallas so I don't have to travel to Austin for them anymore. I also love their hot sauces especially the creamy green one. I love all the breakfast tacos with steak. Can't go wrong with any of those. Before I get started, let me say that the tacos were good and the restaurant was clean. That said, based on the rest of our experience, we won't be back. The cashier wasn't familiar with the menu and we had to repeat ourselves a number of times. Their register couldn't read either of our credit cards. We ordered frozen margaritas. A few minutes later that same cashier came to our table and announced they were out of frozen margaritas. I decided to have one on the rocks instead. Boyfriend got a beer instead, necessitating a visit to the register again for a credit for the difference (which has yet to show up). He got his beer and my rocks margarita arrived...without the rocks. Just a semi-cold concoction that looked like a margarita. It was by far the worst margarita I have ever tasted, completely undrinkable, mouth-puckering sour lime taste mixed with something that had a chemical aftertaste. So bad I had to toss it out. Nasty. A tacodeli opens down the street from my in-laws and I didn't know about it?! Only open since Monday, I saw this as Eric R.'s mom turned from Walnut Hill onto 75 so I could take her to her first barre3 class this morning. I worked up an appetite, did laundry, and suddenly is was 2 PM - I was starving! Down the street I went, to this tacodeli which is so much larger than most of the Austin locations and with ample parking. Friday is a really good daily special day, with ceviche Yucatan and guacasabi tuna. Usually if I get to a tacodeli on a Friday at 2:00 PM, I would not get the specials because they would be SOLD OUT! Not today, my friends - both were available - yeehaw! I got the ceviche on corn and the tuna on wheat. Then I spied the pistachio horchata and was graciously given a sample. It was interesting, but I opted for traditional horchata instead. Because there was a centimeter of the cup unfilled as I drained the horchata dispenser, I got it for free!!! That was really generous. I grabbed some salsas and dipped my spoon in them - one staff member praised me for my salsa tasting idea. Then "Lisa" was called out and it was the woman who ordered in front of me. I told the food runner that the next Lisa would be me, and she brought my food over forthwith. The ceviche was paired with guac and was heavenly and limey in the best way possible. The tuna was seared and spicy and delicious. In a poof? huff? jiffy? the tacos were gone, in my belly. The horchata tried to cool my burning tongue (that green creamy doña salsa is not refreshing but like a hidden devil surprise) but to no avail, so I sucked on horchata-flavored ice cubes. The Carne Asada is where it's at! It's a flavor bomb with juicy chopped ribeye, fresh avocado and the perfect amount of cilantro. The Shrimpasito and Frontera Fundito Sirloin are also good, but the Carne Asada is the superstar for me. I will get two of those next time. Vegans, vegetarians, gluten free... it's all good for you. Whenever I come back to visit family and friends in Texas, Tacodeli is a nobrainer stop that I have to make. Some of the best no frills, hearty tacos you'll get. What's special about Tacodeli is that the ingredients listed in each of the tacos is typical taco ingredients, but magic happens when you combine it all together with the incredible salsas. I like the lunch tacos, but the breakfast tacos really sets Tacodeli apart in my opinion. The otto is my absolute must have. 2 tacos is usually enough for me, but I'll usually order a 3rd just in case I'm extra hungry or just want leftovers. Tacodeli heats up really well. Make sure to take advantage of the self-serve salsa bar. Be sure to try each one but my end all be all salsa is THE DONA. Get the dona. You won't regret it. I always get the guac and chips, and I regret it each time. It's not Tacodeli's strong suit, but it gets the job done. The line can get long, but it generally moves fast. Am I going to visit every Tacodeli in the vicinity of Dallas? Probably. Why? Because these are some of the BEST tacos I have ever had in my life. I'm going to start off by saying that I love flavor. Bland food doesn't bring me joy. Flavor is the essence of life, I'll never think otherwise. Every single taco I've had here has a unique taste to it which is why I never get tired of eating here. During today's visit I got the Pollo En Mole and Pollo En Pipián Rojo. Both chicken tacos but both different in taste and texture (wow!). The mole taco was sweet while the pipián rojo taco was a mild spice. If you ever think a taco is bland, add one of their 4 salsas to the mix. The number of combinations you can make is ridiculous and you will never get bored from eating the same thing. I also have to mention that Tacodeli has some of the absolute best flour tortillas. The queso here is very good as well, and something I order every time. There's also a special place in my heart for the doña salsa which I can never get enough of. Why why why do you squeeze to go tacos until the filling comes out? This happens every time, and it breaks my heart a little. If you want an absolutely delicious and perfect taco, don't get take out because your taco will be squished almost unrecognizably. I go here for breakfast primarily because the refried black beans make the Otto taco amazing. In my picture, you can see said black beans squished right out of my taco for no good reason. I don't like that this place doesn't display prices on the menu. You don't know the price until you start ordering. But the prices were not bad. This review is specifically for breakfast. I ordered the Otto and Jess Special and both tacos were good but extremely salty. My guess is that it was the eggs since both tacos had different Ingredients. I'm usually a fan of salty foods and add more salt than most but it was excessive. Especially for breakfast. Staff is five stars great. The location is good with plenty of parking during breakfast hours. I'm sure it gets packed during lunch and especially dinner with other restaurants in the area. This is a great addition to my go to taco places. Unlike many taco places in the area, these tacos are greasy or oily. I usually get the breakfast tacos here. What I like is you have the option to create your own tacos (and the price is dependent on how many items you add). I think their bacon is their best meat to add to a breakfast taco. Hi I moved to Dallas a year ago and never got the chance to try taco deli even though I heard so much about it l. I finally made the effort to have it for lunch today and it was just not good. I ordered the Akaushi hanger special, shrimpicito, and the pollo fantastico. I also got a chips and guacamole and a pistachio horchata. The shrimp taco was hands down the worst taco I've ever had in my life. The shrimp just tasted old and fishy me and the 3 people I was with all threw it out after one bite. The pollo fantastico was just a mediocre shredded chicken taco that only tasted good if you drowned it in guacamole and queso. The akaushi hanger (Monday) special was the only DECENT option that I tasted and when I say decent I mean that any joe in the world could have made it taste better at home. The guacamole was good though and the pistachio horchata was amazing! I really tried to like this concept as a lot of people have mentioned it to me but I just don't understand why dallas thinks so highly of taco deli. The Sylvan location is better IMO. I don't know if it's because I went around 1:30pm which is after the lunch rush, but the ingredients just didn't taste as fresh for some reason. The atmosphere feels pretty similar to the Sylvan location but I'd say it's a tad bit smaller. Ordered the Al Pastor and Pollo Abodabo. The flavors were okay, but as I mentioned previously the quality wasn't up to par with the other location. Nothing a little Doña salsa can't fix if you drench it all over top (haha). My Tacodeli cravings were satisfied but I've had better from them. Also, don't like how the prices aren't shown on the big menu... transparency is best with your customers. read more

Have had so many horrible experiences here recently I feel it's my duty to write this review, as a public service because the staffing at this location is wildly incompetent. In the last four visits, they have not once gotten our order right. The last time they made our order incorrectly THREE times when we dined in so on the third time we just gave up and ate what we didn't order. This time, they only put half the order in the bag, even though I verbally ran through all the items with the girl who put the tacos in and she told me they were all there. I called to tell them (spoke with Charli) and they told me the only thing they could do was refund a portion of my order. No attempt to make it right now that I had to go find other food after getting home thinking I had our whole order. MANAGEMENT: Please consider hiring new staff who are able to correctly take and complete orders. We used to be weekly customers because we like the tacos but we're going to give up now and go somewhere else. Tacodeli is a chain with their tacos being everywhere. Today I stopped by to pick up a taco from their stand-alone location. I started with an Horchata drink without ice. I've had a lot of horchata before and I was a little dissapointed with this one as it was incredibly grainy and made me want to cough whenever I took a sip. I was impressed with how great the staff was and how clean the restaurant is. The employees definitely put some time into making sure the restaurant looks great. Great selection of drinks, so next time I'll try something else instead of horchata. The wait was a little long for two tacos and being the only customer but, I'd say it was worth it. I liked the combo of chicken and mushrooms on the happy taco, and the shredded chicken was nice and tender. This taco felt a bit plain for my taste, so maybe next time I'll ask for a bit more cheese on it. The space cowboy was a tasty vegetarian option piled high with roasted portobellos and guacamole. This one was my favorite of the two. Out of all the sauces they have available, the jalapeño garlic was my favorite. It was nice and creamy with a slight kick at the end.
