The Rusty Taco is whatever they say it is and more! The staff is welcoming and the dining area is very clean and inviting great for an evening to unwind from work or weekend kickback with family or friends. The menu offered breakfast all day which is awesome because I love breakfast at all times of day but I was intrigued when they told us the popular street tacos had been made into a special so I ordered the smaller version of that as a lunch item to try along with a churro(I love desserts). We sat a few minutes and waited on the food to be prepared and picked up an issue of a local food magazine that introduces all types of restaurants in the Dallas area for you to try. The World Cup games were playing on flatscreens overhead and they had decor throughout the location hanging celebrating and welcoming people to watch FIFA matches as they are currently happening everyday. They called my name when my food was ready and I went to the counter to pick it up. I sat and tried a taco with their verse sauce before hitting the road as I was on a food haul with my sister for the afternoon. It was so fresh, so flavorful, so delicious! I really loved the taco! I will definitely be back for more. I wish I had gotten the larger special to share with my husband because he certainly didn't get any of these, lol. This was my first time here, and I came for breakfast. The atmosphere was relaxed in the morning, with not many people around. The service was good and prompt. I ordered the jalapeño sausage tacos, which were quite tasty and filling. My sister had the potato and egg tacos, and we both felt that the potatoes could have been crispier instead of soggy. Additionally, I found the use of paper boats for each taco to be excessive and wasteful. It would be better if the tacos were simply served on a tray instead, as I've seen at other taco places. Consistently delicious tacos. This is our new go to spot for takeout tacos on lazy weekend mornings. The food is always delicious and the tacos are amazing! Their tortillas are much better than most of the other taco spots in Dallas. Prior to discovering rusty, I used to go to an amazing gas station spot, but it has since closed. I can honestly say these tacos are pretty similar. And our kids eat them so that's a win! We normally opt for a chorizo, egg and cheese and a few bacon, egg and cheese. I have never actually dined here, but the patio does look quite inviting. They also have margaritas which is another win. And you can get the margaritas to go. Their sauces are also also super tasty. The food here is just okay. The tacos aren't bad, but they're definitely not the best. The al pastor was way over-spiced, shredded, and honestly nothing like the real thing. The steak fajita was fine. It's also a little strange when the tortilla is cold but the meat is hot, it makes you wonder if the meat is pre-made and just scooped onto tortillas instead of being cooked fresh. If you add cheese, it's just bagged shredded cheese sprinkled on top, not even melted. The restrooms only have hand dryers instead of paper towels, which I don't love from a hygiene standpoint. That said, the lady at the cash register was really nice, which was probably the highlight of the visit. Overall, not terrible, but there are definitely better options around. read more

My husband and I always pass this place and have wondered about it, but just have never had the opportunity to stop. This location is a converted old gas station so it is industrial inside and has some seating, but has additional seating outside. Upon entering, we were greeted by the nicest human. He asked if we had been before and we said no. He started telling us about the food options and gave great recommendations. Get the chips and queso, for sure. Queso is perfection here. I got two different shrimp tacos, one dynamite and one grilled shrimp. Tortillas are huge and you can choose from corn or flour. I believe they are 6 inches. They claim street tacos, but think double the size! Husband tried picadillo and roasted pork. He preferred the picadillo. It was hard to finish everything, so make sure you're hungry when you go and try not to order the whole menu. Seems like they always add different "special tacos" periodically, also. Rusty Taco catered our office lunch today. I had the pleasure of trying the shrimp taco. Super yum!!! I don't recall the salsa but can distinguish by color. The red salsa is very good but my fave is the orange sauce. It IS spicy! My tongue was burning from the first bite but it was so good I couldn't stop dousing it on my tacos. Also loved the rice dish.
