The burrito was loosely wrapped, the chicken was anything but crispy - it was soft, tough and chewy - and the overall flavours were bland. I was very disappointed with this experience. The food is amazing as always but I really wanted to express my gratitude to the customer service reps aka the lovely gals at the counter yesterday (Wednesday, April 26). I was late in picking up my order and they thought I should get a new one because they were worried that my crispy chicken burrito was sitting out for too long. I thanked them profusely, but there was no need to give me a new one because it was my fault that it was sitting out for so long! Now that is amazing! Amazing tacos! I had a steak and crispy chicken taco and I was very pleased! The restaurant has a cool vibe to it! I wish there was more seating as we felt a bit rushed to eat so other people could have a seat to enjoy their tacos! Overall would definitely recommend as the tacos were delicious :) read more

After trying their tacos for the first time in Tofino, I was delighted to find a location here in Victoria as well! As always, their fish tacos were delicious, and a friend really enjoyed the bean ones too. I have tried the crispy chicken burrito and thoroughly enjoy it (though can never finish it). Busy, hipster atmosphere, often difficult to find a place to sit in that tiny place, but it doesn't stop me! Possibly the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. I ordered 1 cod taco and 1 tuna taco, and I feel like I could have eaten 2 more. If you're in Victoria, you have to visit Tacofino. If I had had more time, I would definitely have visited a second time. My wife and I met a policemen outside of Christchurch Cathedral who gave us this recommendation (among many others). Girlfriend suggested we go to tacofino for dinner with a friend from out of town. When we arrived, my friend and I had to go to the bathroom. After I came out, I told an employee that they were out of toilet paper. I went back to wait in line with my girlfriend for 15 minutes only to have a photo taken of us and service refused. One of the cooks claimed I was "tagging" the bathroom, which was not the case. Why would someone tag a bathroom then wait with their loved ones for dinner? Harsh bullshit! If I could make it no stars on this experience I would. I love going there and enjoy the atmosphere but this experience has ruined it for me. Oh bummer :( my partner and I packed our toddler into the stroller and trekked downtown to try out Tacofino one recent rainy evening. We are both into burritos and were excited to try this place because we missed trying the Tacofino truck when we were up in Tofino! WELL. I'm sorry to say it was so weird in there. It was sort of empty and nobody was waiting to order when we arrived, which in and of itself is OK. BUT. The girl who took my order required me to stand directly in front of her. She would not type my order into the iPad while I was standing a mere 3 feet to her right. She insisted in a cold and somewhat snobbish manner that I walk over to where she was standing and only then would she place my order. It creeped me out because I felt like I was in some inter dimensional version of McDonalds and that an unhealthy amount of control was attempted to be exercised over me. Not exactly the best feeling for a first time customer. Shudder. After the orders were placed to go, the same girl proceeded to stand behind the till and watch me wait for our food. I started getting anxious with the summery white decor and gentle old school jazz playing quietly in the background and this strangely behaved customer service rep staring at me. If I wasn't an adult, I would have thought this girl was trying to bully me with her attitude of superiority. The girl then decided to peer over the shoulders of the guys making the burritos. I started getting so weirded out by this chick who was just WEIRD that I needed to actually leave the restaurant and wait outside in the rain, while my partner and son waited inside for our burritos to be made. While we were the only people that had placed an order, it took quite a while to be finished. I was hoping the food would make up for the customer service trauma but alas. My burrito's foil wrapper was smeared with sauce on the outside making my hands instantly dirty. My partner told me they tried several times to wrap my burrito properly but kept having to try again. EWW NOOO!!!My burrito itself was kind of slimy and the chicken was really fatty and not something I would ever pay $10 for again. The tortilla soup that I ordered tasted exactly the same as my burrito and was over salted. My partner and I both felt kind of sick after and kind of 'slimed'. I'm so sorry Tacofino, I was just too weirded out by the girl on cash and the food just didn't make up for the trauma. Won't be back ever again. read more
