6/15/2024 Fried Chicken Wrap with a substitution of tatter tots. It even came with pickles.

This was a great stop to make, as it was recommended by one of my family members. Parking isn't too bad for the most part, with plenty of spaces to be filled. We were seated upon entering and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. Our waitress, Kate, did a wonderful job from start to finish and accommodated us when we needed it. The menu has quite a variety to choose from, which I always personally enjoy. The steaks are what they're famous for, hence the name, but what caught my eye was the Fried Chicken Wrap. I substituted tatter tots with that dish, but does come with regular fries without the substitution. All of that was very good and left satisfied. I can't wait to explore more on this menu, because I'm sure most items are very tasty and filling. All in all, I was thrilled all around.

Excellent salads! We were not so sure because reviews were somewhat lukewarm, but I had the southern fried chicken salad and my companion had the Cobb salad. Both were delicious

We have been going to the Amenia steakhouse on and off for quite a while now. We stopped going back in 2021 because the quality did not justify the price. Tough steaks, wilted lettuce, so we stopped going. We had recently given it another shot and grateful that we did. The prices are still up there but the quality of the food is also much better. Steaks, burgers and even the fish and salad has improved. Wife loves the surf and turf and I always enjoy the fish and chips and the seafood linguini. Apps are usually very good also. Kinda the only drawback is the French onion soup always comes out luke warm. Atmosphere is always nice as well as the service and food. I would honestly say I would once again recommend enjoying a good meal at the Amenia steakhouse.

First time enjoying dinner here last night as it was my other half's request for his birthday. We ordered the garden salad and New England chowder for starts along with lobster tail as our appetizer and the blackened ribeye steak with mashed and veggies on side. The salad was super fresh and crisp like it was just dug up from the garden, I love that! The boy says the chowder was amazingly delicious and creamy. The steaks were not so much "blackened" as you'd think with Cajun or southern spices and herbs, but seared nicely and tender with an au jus that's just addicting and makes the steak melt in your mouth! You'll want to dip everything on your plate into the au jus (as we did with the creamy garlicky mashed potatoes if you can call them that...more like perfect textured buttery heaven in your mouth!) We did ask the owner on the way out where he gets his beef because we do think it's scrumptious. Alas, the secret remains with the steakhouse So the loss of the one star: The lobster tail was a bit over cooked so I was a little disappointed as the texture then changes and it's not enjoyable, rather more chewable. Also, they brought all our food out at once so we did feel almost rushed and weren't able to take our sweet time there as we had hoped. But, overall we will absolutely be back to give Amenia Steakhouse another go! Their atmosphere is vibrant with diversity of people- and relaxing as the nice raw cut wood booths keep you cozy with your company, the temperature was just right (which I really appreciate) and their steaks are impressive!

My husband and I found a last minute reservation for Valentine's Day here. We read about the owners…read moreand were optimistic that is would be a great meal. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! We had a delicious prix fixe VDay menu that was hands-down one of the best meals we've had in years. We are transplants from the city and felt like we were back in Brooklyn. Every bite was mouth-watering, from the salted butter and warm bread to the perfectly dressed beet and bitter green salad...to the delicious steak, halibut, and pots de creme and olive oil cake for dessert. What an absolute treat, made only better by the attentive and congenial waitstaff that made you feel like a regular. Oh, and the drinks - the mixologist at the bar created a perfect drink every time! And thanks for coming to say hello, Kaitlyn! Cannot recommend this place enough - do not let the strip mall locale deter you - this place is worth it in every way! It should be wall-to-wall waitlist every night - prepare to be delighted!

Hot wings are buffalo-style, simple and delicious, served with ranch or blue cheese, a dozen good-sized pieces per order. Smashburgers come piled high with two patties plus fixins. The porchetta sandwich was wonderful, with the fattiness of the meat balanced by the tangy pickled onions. Fries were nicely crispy, and the portions were generous. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The only thing that keeps this from being a five-star review is the chicken sandwich, which was disappointingly under-seasoned. Looking forward to another visit!

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.

Shared an OG Chicken Sandwich $13. It was buttermilk fried chicken with tomato and lettuce on a roll. Sandwich was pretty tasty. Service was just average. Otherwise, I would've given it four stars. Only a few people appear to have ordered food here. Basically, the place appears to be a watering hole. Only app.metered parking in the area.

We did also order a beef pattyto try but had to bring that home, was so full! Can't wait to try it tho. Would highly recommend going. They also offered happy hour specials which was great.
