I inquired and was told that since the restaurant has to provide medical insurance, their employees they charge customers for that now. It's just so shady that this is not disclosed ahead of time or at least no obvious and it's only if you look at your receipt, do you see you're being charged this additional fee. Word for the wise it is optional despite the mandatory language on the receipt, so I encourage everyone to refuse to pay. You are not the one employing the employees, the employer is.

I've heard of the Bay Area having not so great Mexican food but this place definitely was the exception. I might even want to say that it's the best Mexican I've had in the Bay.
