We walked in to place an order to go around 3pm on Monday. 3 tables out of 8 were occupied. We asked to see a menu and sat down so we can decide what to order. Soon after a lady from the bar area came out and asked us to stand so we can free the table for any walk-ins. NO ONE WALKED IN WHILE WE WERE THERE. They continued asking us if we were ready to order. I placed an order worth of $70.00 got our food and left. Will never go back! Service was terrible and clearly they didn't want our business as it felt they wanted us to be gone, but what the lady did is so rude. 5 tables were still available after we left. The food and staff at Taco 805 in Simi Valley are great, but the manager during our visit was very unprofessional. We were a group of about 25 people (6 families) coming for lunch after a sporting event. When we asked for group seating, the manager said it would take a while, which we completely understood given our size. Since we didn't want to wait, we suggested splitting up and sitting at separate tables since there were a few open ones. He was hesitant but eventually agreed. The first issue came when we asked for separate checks, as we were sitting separately. He said it wasn't possible, which didn't make sense to us. Then, a few minutes later, he informed us that the bill would still include a "large party" gratuity, even though we weren't seated together. I told him that people would tip if the service was good, and adding this automatically felt unnecessary. What really shocked me was when I mentioned that this didn't feel welcoming, and he responded with, "You don't have to come to Taco 805." That's not something you say to paying customers. despite the good food and great service from the other staff, I won't be returning to this place because of that one unprofessional experience. First time trying this place today. I really liked the ambiance and the bar area was beautiful. I really should have tried a margarita but it was earlier in the day. The young lady said I could sit anywhere and she would help me. She brought me menu's and an ice water. I ordered the street style Al Pastor taco & a fish taco. They came out hot and both were delicious. My only complaint is the tortillas were small and thin, I think they should double up on them like usual street tacos come. There was a lot of al pastor meat and the piece of fish was big. The service was excellent and so was the food. Looking forward to coming back and trying other things and for sure a margarita. read more

Horrible service and very uneducated rude staff member on the team, a guy in his 30s with tattoos. I asked for a refund as i was served moldy bread and couldn't wait for them to remake as i was on my lunch break. He called the owner and was like "how do i process a refund on uber eats the customer does not LIKE his food". I simply stated it's not that i don't like it, I'm unable to eat it!! Here is where the uneducated part comes in, after my remark He's like "instead of arguing with me i could of made you one already." Like how was that arguing when we exchanged two sentences. Instead he should have told whoever he called that the staff served bad bread and the customer wants a refund through Uber. Take accountability buddy. read more

Love to support new places in Simi - and Taco's 805 looks to be a banger. A cute little place with a diverse menu and bar for you to hang out and catch up with friends. I love the variety of tacos, and that you can have each one street style (corn tortilla) or California style (larger flower tortilla with avo salsa). Their al pastor was my favorite as it came with little chunks of pineapple. The chicken was quite tender and well seasoned too. I came for the first time last week... & will be back this weekend. I was craving something fresh & the tostada de ceviche mixta hit the spot!! It was a Thursday night & we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table for two to clear up. My friend & I were put on the waiting & a party of two got seated before us even though we had arrived before them. But once seated food came out quickly. We were looking forward to dessert too, but it hadn't been offered & by the time we asked the kitchen was closed. All in all I will be back, the space was inviting, but small tables close together. 805 Tacos has just landed in Simi Valley and has already made a big splash during its soft opening. We arrived around 1 p.m. and easily found parking in the small lot. Imagine our surprise when we stepped inside to find the place packed to capacity, comfortably seating around 20 to 25 people. While you can certainly opt for takeout, your tastebuds will thank you if you dine in to appreciate the food in its freshest state. The interior is spotlessly clean, with staff promptly cleaning tables as diners leave. The ambiance is set to perfection--medium-volume music that's upbeat and enjoyable, and two large, muted TVs at the bar for those interested in the game. We were given one menu upon seating and requested a second one. Breakfast aficionados will appreciate that offerings are available until 2 p.m., although we didn't sample any this time. We tried a variety of drinks: the horchata was an absolute must-try--smooth, with a fine grit; the lemonade was perfectly balanced; and the Jamaica was refreshingly cool. They were out of Mexican Squirt and Dr. Pepper, but hey, it's a soft opening. Service was warm and personal. A shoutout to Natalia, who sat next to us to make recommendations and take our order. We started off with the chips and guac. We were surprised at the choice to plate the chips on a large platter which eats up a lot of table space. While the salsa and guacamole were flavorful, we may skip them next time to make more room for their knockout tacos. Speaking of tacos--the birria taco with consomme was the best I've ever had. It wasn't drowned in cheese and allowed the meat to shine. The steak & shrimp taco was equally exceptional, tender and flavorful, with pickled onions adding a welcome crunch. We also had the torta, which was delightful and used a superior bread compared to traditional bolio. All our tacos came on individual metal platters, making table space a premium. We would have gladly waited the extra 2 minutes to have all 3 à la cart tacos on a single tray to save space. Each time of taco was delivered, we had to stop at we were doing to shuffle things around the table. However, the food quality made this a minor inconvenience. For a restaurant in its soft opening, 805 Tacos knocked it out of the park. From the friendly staff to the incredible food and cozy ambiance, it's clear this place is destined for success. I can't wait to see what they learn from their soft opening, and to come back to really see them shine once they've gotten everything perfected. Chicken tacos much smaller tortillas had good amount of meat but not the usual and tasted good but not as good as usual. But the birria's not even close in taste or size and they put the smallest one in the bottom so we couldn't see in our pick up. Also we both had some fatty gross pieces in our Birrias. This place is amazing! The Boris tacos are one of my favorites, but my all time favorite is the 895 burrito with guac. This burrito deserves an award for "best burrito ever" and the restaurant could also get an award for "best service ever" because the workers are AMAZING! Patient, polite, and they even compliment you sometimes! If you are in the mood for something sweet, DEFINITELY GET THE FLAN!! They always have a game going inside, which just sets a fun vibe inside. Unsure how to rate it. The food itself was good but not what it was really supposed to be. Cali burrito. As a regular burrito it was a solid 8 but as a Cali it was like a 5-6. The Cali here came with rice, beans, and queso fresco which raised an eyebrow. Getting rid of that, changing it to shredded cheese and adding more fries I think would make it a more authentic and delicious Cali. Really good food! I think the service was a little off the night we went, but I'm still disappointed it's not closer to where we live.

Definitely falling off. They completely pack all our food into 1 bag rather than 2 and completely destroyed my asada fries. I called to see if they would fix it but instead all I got was a female with an attitude saying "oh okay I'll let them know next time". It's happened 3 times now.
