Queso birria, tacos dorado, pastor taco

Cool spot I like the ambience it's very chill. Staff was super nice, our waitress was Valeria and she was really attentive and had good energy The food was good. The quesabirria taco was great-the meat quality and the cheese just super tasty! I didn't love the pastor as it was ground instead of like strips of it, but the flavor was good. Tacos dorado was bomb. The guacamole was actually really flavorful with the chips and salsa. This salsa is average, but if you add some of the spicy salsa bottle to it, it elevates the flavor. Overall, really great, I feel like it was lacking just a little bit of spice however, I'm assuming that's just what the preference might be in the area.

Good creative varieties of tacos. 3 tacos is a good portion for 1 person. Would recommend trying their specialities. Slightly expensive for what it is. Service is quick and kind. Inside is clean and has many tables, parking is part of a larger lot.

Stopped in for a quick to go dinner on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was busy with people waiting outside. I went directly to back of restaurant to order and staff was super friendly in assisting with my order. Plus they have a good system to notify when you food is ready by texting. So what did I think? I ordered the 805 burrito and felt it was ok. I think my biggest issue with the burrito is that was salty. Too salty for me. Plus burrito had refried beans and I like whole beans. Plus a lot of rice and not so much meat. The tortilla was good. Given how salty my burrito was I probably wouldn't order this again, and wonder if other food items are as salty. Perhaps I would stop in for something else!

This place is a small taco place that has a nice vibe! This place has a good vibe especially if you want to watch a sports game or just get some dinner! I got the pastor, asada and chorizo tacos n all were pretty good! My favorite had to be the chorizo which wasn't too greasy compared to other places! The drink sizes are perfect for a beer or mixed drink! I'd recommend and have come back a few times!

Our second time visiting Tacos 805 and just as good as our dinner visit with friends. Decided to have lunch there today and it did not disappoint. Very busy lunch crowd that did not impact the service or the food coming out of the kitchen. Plenty of TV's on the wall with all sports events while we enjoyed our chips and salsa, our server very friendly and accommodating. Food came out hot and flavorful, plenty of everything in the tacos, mine was the fish tacos and were outstanding the wife had the El pastor and Carne asada which both were flavorful and juicy, not dry like other places we have dined at. We will frequent this place a lot, prices are perfect and not expensive for lunch or dinner for two. If you are in Simi Valley and craving a taco and margarita this is your place without hesitation. Well done Tacos 805 you got my vote! Mangiamo!

Was having a New Year's Day taco and burrito craving, so we decided to order from Tacos805. I've been here a few times before when they first opened, and I've always thought their tacos were solid. This visit started off strong. The chips and salsa were absolutely wonderful--fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. The carne asada tacos, both flour and corn, were also very good. They're fairly basic, but sometimes simple is best. The steak had good flavor, was cooked well, and didn't need much else. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill with the Mar y Tierra shrimp and steak burrito. I was completely unimpressed. There's just way too much going on in that burrito. It was overloaded with sauce, making the entire burrito soggy and messy. The shrimp were very small, overly salty, and honestly took away from the overall flavor instead of enhancing it. The shrimp felt cheap and didn't pair well with the steak at all. If I were the owner, I'd strongly consider removing the shrimp from that burrito altogether and sticking to what this place clearly does well--chicken and carne asada. That's where they shine. Also worth noting: chips and salsa are charged separately, which is fine to know going in. Overall, I would definitely come back for the tacos only, but I would not order a burrito again. Stick to the basics here and you'll likely have a much better experience.

We've come here multiple times and every time the food is 10/10!! The dinning room is small so there is sometimes a wait, but it's always worth it. Staff are attentive and take your order at the table. The 805 burrito and Jamaica drink are also delicious!!

Not a lot to say about this place, except came with with family (and we eat Mexican food a lot) today for lunch... and everyone said these were the best tacos they had eaten, ever. Wow. That's high praise indeed. I somehow was the black sheep, and ordered a torta, which was delicious. The chips plate is $9 and comes with salsa and guacamole. No free chips like in other places. If the food weren't as great as it is, this would cost one star off the review. But I'll let it go. Still, free chips and salsa should be a given. Service was also very good. The food came out super fast, despite a full restaurant. The place has no ambiance, no pretension, it is focused on great food and great service. Well done! My pictures aren't labeled. I don't even know the particulars of what everyone ordered. Just that we were all super pleased.

A huge shout out to my sister-in-law for telling us about Tacos 805!!! The back story.... She had told my wife and I about a Mexican place that her and her husband came across while they were shopping at the Simi Valley Stater Brothers off of Los Angeles Ave. She said they had this amazing carne asada burrito with French fries inside of it and it was legit. So naturally, I knew it was a just a matter of time before me, the wife and the kids would be venturing over to Simi Valley to check this place out. Fast forward a few months... So after a fun filled morning with my family, my sister, my brother-in-law and my mom where we spent some time fishing at the Rancho Simi Duck Pond just to let the kids practice their casting and reeling in with their Uncle Joe, we decided to get lunch before heading back home. As we were driving, I told my wife, "ooh, what about that Mexican place your sister told us about with that epic burrito" And just like that... Off to Tacos 805 we went! When we first walked in, I noticed the place was pretty packed and there were lots of people sitting at the bar watching the game. Despite being busy that day and the space inside being extra cozy, thankfully they had an open table that fit our party perfectly. Of course, we already knew that we were going to get that burrito recommended by my wife's sister.... But the place is called Tacos 805... And if you have EVER read any of my other reviews where tacos have been an option... You know for a fact that I that is what I'm getting! So with just a quick glance at the menu, I knew instantly what I would be getting: 1 Carne Asada. 1 Al Pastor. 1 Camarón. Aka angus steak, marinated pork, & fried shrimp. Of course I ordered a side of chips + salsa and a bottled Mexican Coke to complete my order. So how were the Tacos at Tacos 805 you ask... The tortillas are handmade which I love! The amount of meat in each taco was plentiful, this place definitely does not skimp. And the flavors of each taco definitely represented the 805 proud. Tortas, quesadillas, enchiladas and other Mexican Specialties are also available to order. Service was good... we were well taken care of during our visit. And since it's called Tacos 805... They do have a decent selection of local draft beers and of course wine, margaritas, michelada's & bottled Mexican Beers. So if you're from the 805 or you are just passing through... Make sure to come give this place some well deserved Love.

Tacos 805 I've been looking for a place like you! The chilaquiles here (weekends only) are amazing! I've been looking for a good one in Simi for a while and this one is not only delicious but is a HUGE portion. I recommend to add eggs to it. I also tried a Al pastor taco that tasted good and fresh. Aside from the food being good, the employees were all very nice and attentive. The place has very large TV's pretty much wrapped around and the beer option looked solid.

Great little taco shop close by the job. I was working at kind of expensive for tacos, but the quality is worth it. They're delicious and I would totally go back if I was in the area again the ambience is probably What you'd expect for a Simi Valley taco spot and I think the tacos are delicious.

Best mango margarita I've ever had.

Best Mexican food in Simi. Service is great, everyone is very nice. TVs for all the sports, perfect place for a drink and some good food.

We had plans to dine elsewhere and when we arrived it was a sold out event even though I was never told that when I called earlier in the week that there was going to be a different situation (that is another story for later) So here we were a party of four looking to dine somewhere locally at prime dinner hour and striking out. My wife called MB Grille as we were already heading in that direction and talked to Alice and she allowed us to put our name on the list with the intent of us arriving in 10 minutes. We did arrive on time and the place was packed, we did get seated shortly after we arrived and Riley was our server. What a friendly easy going helpful person she was, answering questions that we had and getting answers for the questions she didn't have. Very attentive checking on us numerous times. We have dined here before and the fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection, Oysters are always good and the cocktails always spot on and refreshing. Big shout out to Riley on this one, great service is just as important as delicious food. And a great hostess such as Alice keeps the incoming customers flowing and happy and feeling welcome. Thank you both for making a fall out evening into a dining pleasure. Well done Riley and MB Grille, as always we will see you again soon. Bon Appetitto

You'll hear many patrons describe this restaurant as a hidden gem. Believe them. From our observation, reservations are highly desirable and may prove necessary for weekend nights. The only seatings available when we called a day earlier were at 4:30 or after 7:00 PM. We took the earlier, and frankly are glad we did. We arrived at their unassuming storefront location as the first patrons of the day, were warmly greeted and immediately seated. From this moment forward, my wife and I agreed: If anyone hopes to run a highly successful small restaurant, Bella's Bistro is the template. Inside, the ambiance was tasteful with gentle background music at the absolutely perfect tempo and volume to allow for conversation. We found the furnishings, tableware and restroom immaculate. Fresh flowers and a candle adorned each table, and the decorations for Valentine's Day were just the right tone, conveying appeal without being garish. Kudos to the staff for getting it right on all of the above. Though I generally set expectations low for the wine list or bartending at a small establishment, Bella's features a diverse wine list and specialty cocktails that pair very well with their menu. Of particular note was the superb crafting of cocktails during our visit - again, exceeding our expectations. It was during cocktail service that we noticed the full-service bar tucked in the rear corner of the restaurant, offering barstool seating and counter service for those who may be so inclined. We shared a nicely prepared caesar salad, while enjoying the basket of varied breads. While refrigerated butter pats were provided in the basket, it would have been a tad easier and more appealing if a small container of whipped butter had been offered instead. Our entrees included their homemade ravioli as well as chicken parmigiana, the latter included a large perfectly crafted portion of chicken accompanied by perfectly prepared spaghetti. To say this restaurant knows how to make and served great pasta is in understatement, with the ravioli a choice to be savored. A simple cheesecake dessert topped off the evening. Though the restaurant was full as our meal ended, we never felt rushed or ignored. Service was at all times attentive but never overbearing. There was genuine interest in our enjoyment and satisfaction. We encourage you to try Bella's Bistro!

But it is REALLY loud. There were maybe 9 people in there and you had yell at the person next to you because it's all concrete and metal. Not sure who thought this would work but it definitely does not. Also doesn't look like anyone had a plan of what they wanted the space to be. Live music? DJ? The acoustics are going to be awful. It's a massive space with a bunch of tables and nothing else. It's quite simply just odd. As for the food, it's not good. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Pretty bland and nothing is fresh. It's also outrageously overpriced. Chicken fajitas were meh and they were $27.00. We got shrimp and they were rubbery and came in a plastic bag, which was in a bucket. Weird. Also, no silverware. Only plastic. Just a headscratcher all around. The website says they have happy hour but they didn't have a separate menu. Just two dollars off drinks is what w were told. Probably why it was empty at 5:30. Also weird. They have this huge space and don't seem to have any idea what to do with it. Drinks were the same as the food. Wildly overpriced and the bartender didn't seem to know what they were doing. So, fitting for the overall concept. I was excited about the new bar because we have an office down the street but this looks like a hard pass for me. 5 stars is for the staff because they were great.

The mall this place is in is a dump. There is a Mexican restaurant next door. I mention this because there is the crab/seafood menu and then there is an extensive Mexican food menu as well. I wonder if they just get the Mexican food from the restaurant next door? I don't know, nothing wrong in that. The tables have a paper "tablecloth" on them with plastic utensils. The reason for this is they don't use plates. They just bring you your seasoned seafood in a double plastic bag, and it is dumped out onto the paper "tablecloth". I saw this happening at the only other occupied table and immediately lost my appetite. My wife, undeterred, ordered some mussels. Ordinarily, we'll also order vegetables with any meal, but the side servings of vegetables are priced like filet mignon. I asked if I ordered the chips & guacamole, did it come with a serving of salsa? Alas, our server said no. What does a tiny amount of salsa cost a restaurant? 50 cents? So, I stuck with a glass of water. I was done. I couldn't bring myself to eat here. My wife ate a few of the mussels, digging them out from the plastic bags with her plastic fork. She said they were "ok" but we paid and departed, after a very poor experience. No pictures because I wasn't in the mood.
