My server Nathalia was super kinda and helpful!! I was very pleasantly surprised by the food. Mexican food is one of my favorites and I can't say I've had better tacos than the ones I had here. I had the taco dorado with braised beef and the mar y tierra and the balance of flavors and textures is so perfect. I also tried their new menu item, the pork belly taco and the meat was so flavorful and tender. The size of the tacos are really decent as well. I was extremely satisfied after having 3. Horrible Customer Service and the Food horrible for the prices that they charge here. The owner (guy with tattoos and braces) was the rudest,gets upset when you ask for extra lime or a refill on the sodas (which they advertise on the Menu FREE REFILLS). Then he goes back and tells his employee Erika and they look at us and laugh. He should lead by example, all he's showing his workers it's that it's okay to be rude to the customers. He was upset bc the person I came with last time gave him a bad review. The owner said "I can't believe you have the audacity to come back after your friend left a bad review!" Whole team including the owner need training and customer service skills. This is definitely a great taco spot I was missing out on. They have vegetarian options consisting of a nopal burrito, tacos with nopales that were finely chopped, and potato tacos. The wait was under 15 minutes when we arrived Saturday at 7:45pm and they even had the Dodger game playing which was a plus. They have several giant screen TVs. The staff was friendly, helpful with recommendations of food items that are the most popular. We ordered the chips and guacamole and which was plenty for a group of 5 adults and we still had some leftover. You can ask for some salsa and they bring out bottles with green and red salsa. Solid spot for a good burrito in Simi Valley! We also got the guac and chips, which I loved. It comes with a small bowl of guac and a side of salsa, both of which were super tasty. My carne asada burrito was pretty solid, not the best I've ever had, but certainly very delicious. The steak was a little tough for my liking but still tasty. My husband got the Mar y Tierra Burrito and subbed steak for chicken. I LOVED this burrito and would definitely come back for this! Our waitress was super nice and friendly!! Walked into a warm and friendly welcome and quickly were seated. There are several televisions on the walls with the volume turned down so we could hear the music and each other. The food it great. Never again! I've come to expect service that is lacking because frankly most places do lack in customer service these days. But this was next level. I placed a take out order at the counter. Waited inside next to the bar for my name to be called. Bar was not busy, plenty of seats available. Restaurant not overly busy either. 25 minutes later (and after seeing 2 tables of people that arrived after me get their food) I asked the bartender about my order. There it sat right there on the counter. For nearly 30 minutes! Nobody called my name. Nobody told me my order was ready. Needless to say I brought home cold soggy taquitos. Came here Friday night right before closing. I ordered the carne asada, shrimp and beef dorado taco. The carne asada and shrimp were my favorite. The steak was flavorful and the taco was full of steak! My shrimp taco was delicious, I asked to use flour tortilla and they accommodated. I never had the dorado taco, it wasn't bad but I'd probaly skip it next time. I ordered the churros which came with caramel sauce and ice cream. The portions here are HUGE. The salsas are so good. The food is ready very quickly for pick up. Staff is super friendly.

We tried it once about a year ago and we were not pleased. After a friend said it's gotten better, we gave it another shot tonight and we won't be returning. Came in at 5:30 on a Tuesday and it was crowded! We found an open table for two. Ordered the chips and guacamole because I'm not sure if they bring chips to your table if you actually have to order them. The guacamole was good. It had big giant chunks of avocado and their salsa had good flavor. Their chips were just okay seemed kind of stale. Their Agua de piña was good. It's hard to find one made the right way, but theirs was a perfect balance of pineapple essence water lightly sweetened. It was strained so no fruit in it. We had the enchiladas. This was different. They use queso fresco inside and Then cotija on top. It's a different texture than what I'm used to, but it was still good. Then we tried 3 different tacos, the quesabirria, chicken dorado and street carne asada. The quesaBirria taco was messy, which is normal however there wasn't a lot of flavor with this one and not a lot of cheese on the one that I had it was mostly very oily drippy meat. Chicken taco Dorado had excellent chicken however the shell was very chewy and not cooked to a crispy texture. When I cook them, I like them well done. The Carne Asada taco is where they lost me. I had a piece of Carne Asada that was a giant piece of gristle and it was so hard to stomach. I was kind of grossed out after that. Glad I ate it last. With a 20% tip this all came out to $60 so prices are okay, about $5 on average per taco. The servers were nice but they do need more help, lots of people waiting to order when we left. Well, color me shocked and surprised. I'm awarding all 5 stars to this place... and with no hesitation!!! I don't typically do that with Simi Valley eateries, but Tacos 805 rates in a big way !! While we ordered takeout on our maiden voyage to Tacos 805, we were blown away with the quality of ingredients, the incredible flavor in all items ordered, and the accuracy of receiving exactly what we ordered. The latter rarely happens when ordering takeout from anywhere. This is mostly a taco and burrito place with many choices of each, but they do have other Mexican food items available. I do not ever eat burritos, but I do love tacos. Most of their tacos are on corn tortillas, but they also will make them with flour tortillas, even gluten-free flour tortillas, should someone want those. Between my husband and I, we ordered six tacos. Unfortunately, they came three tacos per to-go box, but we didn't know which tacos were which, and because it was takeout, they didn't know what we each ordered. This was our first time ordering, and on four of the six tacos, they looked the same to me. I simply didn't know which ones were mine and which ones were my husband's. So I guessed, and knowing me, I ended up eating my husband's, and he ate mine. I am terrible at guessing. They should have labeled the boxes to say which tacos were inside of each; that is my only criticism. I have to say, though, the tacos were outstanding. If you frequently read my reviews, I'm all about flavor and let me tell you, these tacos and everything we tasted had flavor abounding. Absolutely delicious. The food was freshly prepared, good quality ingredients, and the flavors were insanely good. My husband ordered a pork belly taco, mar y tierra taco, and a quesabirria taco. I ordered camaron (grilled shrimp), carne asada, and a Dorado taco. Whatever I ate was absolutely delish. I'm not gonna lie... Things were a little spicy, such as their salsa that they make for chips only, which I thought would be mild. Maybe that was their version of mild, but it was a little spicy for me. The thing is, I put it on my tacos anyway because it had such great flavor, spicy or not. The guacamole was surprisingly spicy, too, but I saw plenty of jalapeños sitting in there, and I didn't see any ingredients listed on the menu for the guacamole. I just assumed it would be mild, and I was wrong. It had amazing flavor, even though it was too spicy. Again, I ate it because they made a great guacamole, even though too hot for me. Their Mexican Rice was perfection. Cooked perfectly and so flavorful. The beans were interesting. I say interesting because there was more flavor than usual, but they were a little different, not your typical refried beans, and of course, they had lots of flavor. Both my husband and I enjoyed all the food immensely. The bottom line here is that we will be back, and knowing us, because it was so unbelievably good and because this place is so close to our house, we will go back there within a few days. When we do go back, we will likely eat there and see if we can't get some help identifying which tacos are which. Maybe we can even find out if there is a milder salsa, and who knows, maybe they'll make the guacamole without jalapeños for me. I'll never know unless I try. The only thing I know so far is that their food is damn good. I have to make a quick apology to my Yelp friends because I usually have pictures to go along with everything that I write about. Because I spent so much time trying to identify the six tacos, I completely forgot to photograph the food. I'm quite certain I will remedy that in future visits, however. It is most assuredly the best taco in Simi Valley. Meat was really tender and flavorful. Salsas are mild and spicy if you like. Fish taco is fried and flavorful--guacamole tasty. Tacos 805 is a small restaurant with a bar so they fill up quickly with customers. Service is friendly. There appears to be regular clientele at the bar and they speaks well of them. I am very particular about my al pastor...sometimes it's too hot, but not flavorful, sometimes the pineapple is too much. I got the 805 burrito al pastor, and damn it was simply perfect. not overpowering in any aspect. Just the right amount of sweet. I took my first bite and was like...oh damn, that's good. We also got the chips and salsa with their guac. Never was a huge guac guy but have been coming around and my was surprised as I kept diving in for more big chunks. Salsa was delicious, not spicy. Wife ordered the enchiladas as she's particular about her enchiladas. She loved the non-traditional way they were prepared with the fresh cotija cheese. If she hadn't eatin so much of the salsa/guac herself, she would have finished it all, but took it home. It was all worth every penny. This is a tiny restaurant, maybe 6 tables a few seats at the bar. We were greeted and told to just pick a table. The server was quick with the menus and took our drink order. Beer, wine , and margaritas, are the options. I noticed this establishment doesn't start with chips and salsa. You have to order the guacamole and that comes with the chips and salsa. We wanted to start with the birria pizza, it is on the appetizer menu. The server asked if we wanted it first before our entrees. We agreed but the first dish they brought out was my taco order, then the pizza then about 7 minutes later my wife's entree and maybe 2 minutes later my son's entree. Clearly timing is an issue. We started with the pizza. Lots of places use a giant tortilla as a Mexican pizza crust but this was an actual pizza dough, with a spicy red sauce, cheese, red onions and lots of meat. The pizza was a high quality dish. Pollo asado, carnitas, and a chorizo taco was my dinner. The chorizo taco was the best one on my plate. The carnitas was good and the chicken was underwhelming. My son had the al pastor, asada, and a fish taco. The fish taco was our favorite, the al pastors and asada were both really good. My wife has the California burrito.
