We are San Diegans who are very picky about Mexican food. We almost lost hope for northern Cali until we stumbled upon this place. So tasty!

We had a big group and the food came out quickly. It all looked delicious! Lali was our second server and she was amazing as well. We left with full bellies and lots of laughter!

Thankfully there was still parking in the lot and seats inside. I was happily surprised there were still seats available as it was the USA game. The place was busy, but not packed. There were still a few seats at the bar when we arrived and a couple of tables available. It was the perfect place to arrive late to watch the game. This has turned over many times since we've lived here. Now it's a Mexican restaurant and bar. It's cleaned up well since we were here last. It has a very cute entrance. It has a couch and 2 shelving units on the sides of the couch. There is a sign above the couch that says Tequila Weill never break your heart. Veggie Taco Salad $14.75: Fired flour tortilla, pinto beans, grilled vegetables, avocado, sour cream, roasted corn & greens. It was very tasty. We loved the grilled vegetables. They were fresh and hot in the bottom of the taco salad on top of the pinto beans. The sour cream was drizzled on top of the avocados. Under that was a little bit of lettuce. There could have been a lot more lettuce. I would order it again. Mulita $7.55 regular price. $5 during happy hour, we sadly missed happy hour by minutes: stuffed corn tortilla, choice of meat, melted cheese ,with sour cream and guacamole on the side. I don't recall there being guacamole on the side, I think they put it in it. The Mulita was chuck full of meat, it was overflowing. It was very tasty. Though very messy. It's hard to eat with your hands alone. We cut it up into small pieces and ate it with our hands. We'd order it again. The ambiance was good. People were cheering for the USA. It was a fun environment. Subdued compared to other watch parties we've been too, but it was still nice.

Me , my husband, and baby came here because we just moved 2 minutes from this place and wanted…read moresomething local instead of driving 15 mins to our favorite taqueria. When we entered the service was great ,the menu was wide , and the place was clean. Me and my husband ordered the 3 enchiladas plate . He got the red salsa I got the green salsa. We also ordered two margaritas . When we sat down they had my favorite salsa which is a sour cream salsa ! I always look for that when I go to a Mexican restaurant. The salsa bar was amazing and the chips were hot. About 5-10 minutes our margaritas came out and they were HUGE for only $10 ! They tasted amazing ! A few minutes later our food came out and the presentation was good. The green salsa I got on the other hand was very sour compared to others I've tried. My husbands red salsa was amazing though! When I went to take a bite of my enchilada I couldn't help but spit it out because the chicken had absolutely no seasoning and the chicken was almost like brown. I thought if I add my favorite salsa that it would cancel out the flavor but it didn't... I was extremely thrown off because the plate was $22 and we had spent $73 at this place just on two people. So I was very disappointed. The beans and rice were okay and my daughter ate most of it . But as I was eating my chips and salsa I would catch a whiff of the chicken and it's smelled really really bad. It was almost like it was old or something. My husband said his salsa cancelled out the chickens lack of flavor. When I go to a restaurant I expect the chicken or literally any meat on their menu to be seasoned. I should let have to ask if the meat is seasoned it should be mandatory. This is what I see very common in some Mexican restaurants. I would come back not for the entrees but for their drinks as they were big and low price, and also their salsa bar. I'm saddened because it was so close so I had hope.
