Chandos used to be delicious before Covid. I ordered the Adobada burrito meal. The burrito was quite small. The meat was room temperature. It was a disappointment because it used to be so good. Disappointed! I love(d) Chandos for many years! But recently, here in West Sacramento, its been a huge miss! Ordered online a burrito and a bowl. Just no. No. No. No. After a couples pedicure, we went to grab a quick bite to eat, and wanted to try the newer to us Chando's location. I've been going to Chando's for years, and really appreciated the quality food at reasonable prices. That no longer exists. In fact, the food has become inedible over priced garbage. We spent over $60, and this was for take away When we arrived home, we were excited to have a nice evening, and both of us were looking forward to enjoying some good eats. ( see pictures) The food was haphazardly thrown in the boxes, and despite the request for no onions, the food was loaded with them. The food was mediocre, tasting at best, and definitely something that was completely unexpected. Back in the day, and not so long ago, you could order three tacos and a drink for around six dollars. Since moving to the area, I've been to Chando's a few times when a taco craving hits. However, each visit has been okay, but nothing impressive. I've tried most of their tacos including carnitas, Baja fish, shrimp, potato, pastor and birria. However, only the potato one has been the one that makes me come back. I've had their tortas with carne asada which is hearty, but messy. Their nachos suffered a similar fate, impressive to look at, but lacking in real substance. During the recent quesobirria craze, I tried theirs and once again was underwhelmed. I've only been to this Chando's a few times now but I'm very familiar with Chando's as a Sacramento staple, particularly for tacos. What I've also heard from others are that there tortas are the way to go. I stopped in on Friday and needed lunch before working an all day event so I decided I'd go with a torta combo and an extra taco on the side to make sure I was set for the day. I got there at just about noon and there was only one person in front of me in line, with most of the tables empty. The guy in front of me ordered quickly and I put in my order before grabbing my drink and some salsa to go with my chips. They mostly have four top tables inside which makes it a little difficult when grabbing a table for one. It ended up getting busy shortly after arrived and I'd like to offer my table to groups or sit at a one/two top instead to make room, but I didn't see that as an option. Anyway, food came out relatively quickly and I was happy with the portions of everything. The torta was great with a lot of meat on it, a soft roll, and was a solid choice. I didn't love the taco de papas and would likely not get again, but now I know! Overall, solid lunch choice with some good combos. If you're in the mood for more than just one item, I definitely recommend shelling out a few more dollars for chips, a soda, and your choice of nacho cheese, bean dip, or pico! read more

Chando's has been more hit and miss over the last year and with the higher food prices we don't come as often anymore (I know prices are going up everywhere but food still has to be worth it otherwise I'll cook myself). For dinner this time we got two burritos and a side of guacamole. I did the Asada burrrito and added beans for extra $$. It was a good burrito and the perfect amount of food with the beans added. My husband did the nor cal burrito which includes fries and he picked carnitas. The food was good but he wished it was a bit bigger overall. The most disappointing was the side of guacamole that we paid $3.90 for and it was a quarter size container of blended avocado. Yesterday, my company had a special luncheon for all 30 employees. We ordered the burritos, chips and drinks a day or two ahead of time and told them we would be picking it up at 11:30 am. When our supervisor arrived at 11:30 for the order, they hadn't even started preparing it yet!! And he had to go back and help them prepare the food! When he arrived at work with the food, the burritos were a bit soggy but still good, except they didn't give us any salsa! Also, they gave us just one tray of chips so the people at the end of the line got no chips. There was cheese sauce for the chips, but again, no salsa. We paid around $500 for this disaster of a lunch and most definitely won't be using them again. read more

Chando's has been with Sacramento for over a decade and has expanded both their menus and their locations. I had the Birria Tacos with consomme (the soup/broth in the right side of the photo). It was very good and well seasoned. The reason for only 4 stars is that the portion is rather small (street tacos sized) for the price. I believe the three tacos was $14.99. And although it is called a "combo" it actually does not come with anything additional. So the drink was additional. The food was very good but there is another local food truck/pop up that serves bigger birria tacos for less money. But Chandos is a solid choice for consistency and cleanliness. read more

While the FOOD is usually a solid 5 STARS at Chando's (Arden location)... not so much at this location. ....the operations at this location can use some help, literally. There were only 3 people working behind in the kitchen and the orders were comin' in hot! Not only did you have people walking in placing their orders, but they also had phone-in orders coming in, plus grub hub/postmates & Uber Eats, - alllll coming in to pick up their orders. This place was a sh!tshow. They needed more workers to help, that's for sure. When we finally got our food, it looked like our food was rushed. My fries were NOT cooked; beyond soggy without a crunch. Cheese in the burrito not melted, with barely any fillings, and our burritos were poorly rolled basically falling apart. The Carne asada was burnt and over cooked. Smh. We won't be coming back to this location. We'll stick to going to the Arden Chandos. They are more organized and actually make their food with love at that location. Never had any issues at the Arden one. read more

I came by this Chando's location for lunch on a Tuesday. Located in a more industrial area, I was surprised to see how busy it was. I placed my order for three quesa birria tacos and waited. The three tacos were tasty and filling, a little messy and the tortillas fell apart due to all moisture. First time ordering food and definitely the last! I had heard this place was pretty good but some of the reviews were a bit negative but we tried it anyway. Placed our order through Uber Eats on Friday and when it got here, I noticed the drink from the combo meal wasn't there ehhh no big deal I thought. Then my son opens up the meal and the birria tacos are burnt bad. We asked for no onions and surprise...it had onions. It said it came with salsa and well there was no salsa. So now we've got a combo meal with no drink and no salsa or cheese (which I added and paid for as extra). My son attempted to eat it but said the burnt taste just ruined it. The sauce that came with it was cold. Next order was my husbands burrito bowl....completely cold and gross! I ordered a quesadilla which was pretty decent not fantastic but ok. Mind you, we live 3 miles from this place so I don't know how the food was so cold. I called the restaurant to let them know the combo meal was burned and missing the drink (this meal was $15.00 by the way). The manager got on the phone and apologized and said he was going to refund the entire order. I honestly wasn't expecting him to do that - I just figured maybe a refund on the combo meal. He said he processed the refund and apologized again. I'm thinking ok that's good customer service right?!?! WRONG! My order was never refunded so he lied! I reached out to Uber Eats and it said I was past the refund window. I sent a message to support anyway along with a picture of the destroyed tacos. They messaged back and apologized and gave me a refund of $20.00 which honestly was unexpected. I was willing to give Chandos another try when the manager said he would refund me. Here, there is plenty of nearby street parking on a quiet, semi-industrial area with wide streets. Often, you can see a business vehicle with the Chando's logo on it parked here. Chando's tacos is a small local chain of taco restaurants in the Sacramento region. They make a good taco, and they are varied and wonderfully filling. They also have other items on the menu, like quesadillas, burritos, mulitas(sort of a cross between a taco and a quesadilla), nachos, and tortas. Me, I keep it simple and go in for a trio of tacos for about $2 each. These are boxed up in paper and cardboard, not foam trays...a plus! They make grab grab and carry out food to take to a microbrewery that allows outside food be brought in when you're there to sample the beers. It's good to have good filling fare with you. read more

The loaded fries or Chando's Papa Fries with chicken are my favorite; nice grilled flavor but not everything always tastes fresh (made that day). Chandos is a local fave business around Arden, but this review is for the mobile food truck based out of West Sac. I've tried their street tacos at Sactomofo, and twice the truck has come to my worksite for Friday lunches. The mulitas with adobada was good, reminds me of vampiros. The marinated meats are so flavorful and tender! They also had colored their tortilla chips pink for breast cancer awareness month. The three taco combo isn't a bad choice either. They also had quesadilla, burrito, mini tortas options too. Most recently went for the nachos with steak and all the fixings. It was a LOT for one person (it came with 2 forks) but best believe I killed it on my own. Nacho cheese is one of my weaknesses. Comfort food for sure. Chando's, I'm a fan! read more

Try a Mulita when you visit! Two cooked corn tortillas with your choice of meat inside (not crunchy though). Highly recommend the Adobada, which has fresh chunks of juicy marinated pork, diced onions, salsa, cilantro, Monterey jack, and guac. All of the ingredients created a big greasy mess that was well worth the $3.49! The Birria Mulita has spicy beef stew in the mix, plus all the other toppings (pretty spicy). They also serve great Tacos de Papa (potato tacos / hard shell), Chorizo Tacos (soft shell), and churros (with and without custard). I'm a fan of this local chain! read more

I have always loved eating at a Chando's Tacos! So I was happy to find out that my workplace hired this West Sac. Chando's to drive their food truck on over, and cater to our employees during technician appreciation week! Since I work at a 24 hr. vet hospital, Chando's was gracious enough to feed us not only for lunch, but return for dinner too! That way all employees of all shifts, could enjoy their food! We got to place our orders, choosing from the specific food truck menu which included tacos of our choice, tortilla chips & salsa, drinks, and even churros! A table was placed out with condiments so that everyone could custom design their own tacos which was either beef, pork, chicken or veggie. I'm pretty sure everyone loved the food, because I spotted some day time coworkers coming back for more helpings during the late shift!
