On our way to the park yesterday, we decided to stop in and grab some food. The place was empty when we arrived, but based off of the Yelp reviews, we decided to give them a shot. The inside was clean and spacious. My daughter wanted to check out the bagel place next door so only my husband ended up ordering - he went with the California Burrito. The burrito was nothing special honestly - we have had much better California Burritos elsewhere. They also gave us chips and salsa which again, were nothing special. They are pricy too - we got 1 burrito, a Mexico Coke and a Jarritos for over $20. Overall, I was not too impressed - maybe we didn't order the right thing, but I was intrigued by the Hot Cheeto Burrito though. Not sure if we'll be back! read more

I'm honestly so annoyed because I was excited to eat here, and the Menudo was just bad. I specifically told them NO pata -- that was the whole point of me ordering it -- and they still gave it to me anyway. It completely ruined the dish for me. On top of that, there was almost no meat. Just broth. For $18, I expected an actual meal, not a giant bowl of soup with random pieces I didn't want in the first place. I rarely complain about food, but this was honestly such a waste of money. I walked out still hungry and really disappointed. I don't think I'll be ordering Menudo from here again. read more

I love this place. I come here whenever I'm at my boyfriend's place cause it's like a 8 minute walk from there. It's easily one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to eat. I really enjoy the Carnitas here & as well as the Carne Asada & Rice// Beans! My favorite plate as of lately is their 5 Taco Plate Special with the Carnitas. Soooooo delicious!!!! Although I will be honest, I am not a fan of the Horchata here, it's too sweet & marshmallow like for me. Everything else here mainly the food, is definitely worth coming here for. I feel like the pricing for the location is not very good when you have a Mexican place like Mezcul across the street, which is absolutely top-tier. It's kind of hard to judge this one without wondering why the prices are so high. There's not many feud options that I can choose from that I can say that I really love or loved the only thing that I'm able to really eat from here is maybe a crispy chicken taco with cheese however it's not always the same and that's the one thing I could say about her. You just never know if your food is gonna be good or not or if it's gonna taste the same as before when you liked it, the inside of this location is really big. I really like how big it is inside. The girls at the front are usually super nice. They play music. I just think that they would serve well to lower the price of some for this location and the people that live around the neighborhood it would do a lot better and I do think they need to check some of the food to do a little bit better options or maybe check on it being the same throughout if you go one week and go another week, the food should always taste the same. read more

Bought a few burritos. Sadly they are loosely rolled. Everything falling apart. Ordered steak and got a little shredded chicken it. The steak had no flavor. Tasted it was left overs from the day before and wasn't seasoned. Only received one salsa of each kind and one of bag of chips. I was assuming for each Burrito, you'd get a bag for each one. But I guess one per order. Can't even share the salsa if I can because they only gave me one of each. I guess it'll be enough for the single bag of chips. Also The burrito was so cold and soggy. Should be ashamed of who is preparing the food here. The person who rolled the burritos, please take some notes and do better next time. If I were to refer anyone here. I wouldn't. I love their foood!... I'm here to review their pozole because I think good pozole is hard to find.... Taqueria Roberto is NOT the place to go for Pozole.. it's mediocre, pretty expensive and they don't offer radish , oregano, or chilli flakes.. they also use purple and green cabbage that comes from a bag. Came back for dinner. Originally reviewed breakfast burritos which are fire! Carne asada burrito was extremely fat (in a good way)! Ordered with no beans and extra cilantro. Flavor was pretty good. Salsa had a little kick to it. Little greasy though. Tacos had really good flavor but a little on the greasy side. Both meats were more on the crumbly side, which I'm not a huge fan of. There are other spots I prefer. Kids quesadilla was pretty basic. My daughter didn't want the rice or beans but I thought they were good. Great salsa selection!! Wide range of mild to spicy. My husband and I were driving back home when we saw this place along the Highway. I quickly Yelp!'d it and after reading the reviews we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was empty but that quickly changed. My husband ordered their Menudo con pata which is a 32 oz size and I ordered their breakfast burrito with Chorizo and a side of fries and 2 large Minchelada's. The food was really good. I appreciate the burrito not having a ton of grease like some places. The fries were very crispy and delicious, and my husband's Menudo was very tasty. His only complaint was it seemed a bit on the smaller side. Perhaps they should offer a larger size in addition to the 32 oz size. Overall the food was good, the restaurant was clean, and the staff friendly. If we're in the area we will be sure to stop in for a bite. Thanks again! read more

My partner and I have lived in Sacramento for several years but hadn't found a go-to authentic Mexican restaurant until the day we tried Taqueria Roberto Jr. They have the best breakfast burrito in all of Sacramento! It's loaded with potatoes, eggs, and your choice of meat. I'm a huge fan of carnitas, but it can be hard to find good carnitas. At Taqueria Roberto Jr. the carnitas are tender and savory. And to top it off, they have a spicy and tasty salsa de habanero that brings it all together. We've tried other breakfast plates, their giant quesadilla, and flan. Every dish has been excellent and affordable. The restaurant employees are welcoming and courteous. There are always good options for seating. The ambiance is calm with Mexican music playing in the background and a TV broadcasting Spanish television with the sound off. The location is convenient--in the heart of a shopping plaza and next door to a Starbucks, in case you need a coffee fix. She had a chicken taco and a carne asada taco with rice. I had the Camarones A La Diablo , came with rice and beans . She liked her entree and mine was excellent. Nice and spicy , just how I like it. Everything I had tasted very fresh . The taqueria is in a great location, on the edge of a Bel Air shopping center. We had to do some grocery shopping so this was very convenient. Plus it's only about a mile down from the 80 freeway , which is convenient as well. Since we both live away from sacramento I dont see going to the restaurant just for that, but if in sacramento for another reason, I wouldn't hesitate to go there, since its great food for a reasonable price read more
