Came here on a Monday afternoon close to noon. It was four of us dining in for the AYCE lunch. The food and service did not disappoint! Food: There is a small salad, sauce, utensils and plate area on the right side when you walk in. This is great and the salads were like a sliced cabbage blend, another is daikon, or cucumber. I think there's wakami salad too. We ordered a few rolls off of the menu, salmon nigiri, katsu chicken, and a couple desserts. The rolls are a bit tinier which I like. The salmon was fresh. The desserts - fried donut and sesame balls were DELICIOUS. Service: Great service! Someone came around every 10 mins to ask if she wanted to order more. They were all very polite. This place was a bit busy but so happy on the quality we got. It's a casual sushi place. Great for lunch, dinner. They even let us split the bill onto 3 cards. I've genuinely been coming here for 17 years and I'm only 30. The service is quick, there's a lot of seating, and the food is fresh. They have a salad bar with sides you can grab and all sushi is made to order which is not common for all you can eat buffets. The prices have steadily gone up but when I tell you it's worth it, please listen! They have a classic sushi bar as well as a ton of booths and standalone tabletops. I really enjoyed this place! I've been to places from very expensive Michelin's starred omakase restaurants down to value sushi restaurants. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical of all you can eat for $22 each, but I'm glad we tried it. Holy smokes, it was a really good deal. The variety and options for types of fish weren't amazing, but it was still really good and there were plenty of hot food choices. I was worried it would be a whole lot of rice and not a lot of fish, but the ratio was surprisingly generous. Towards the end of the meal the fish slices seemed to be a little thinner, but I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. The Hamachi and Salmon nigiri were my favorite. I could eat that all day (and I did). For the sheer volume of food it would have easily been 2-3x the price at any other place. We also ordered hot food like the deep fried oysters, shrimp tempura, chicken katsu, miso soup and gyoza. I liked the tempura and the deep fried oysters. We could have passed on the other items. For dessert we had a sesame ball and fried bananas. Both were yummy. We will be back next time we're craving a lot of sushi! I ate a lot and got my moneys worth but my girlfriend, much less! Super good!! I've been here a few times but this time in particular I came during lunch. The parking lot is small so prepare to walk from a farther side of the plaza when it's busier. It's right off the freeway towards west sac harbor blvd area and it was about $20 a person! My sister started with the dragon roll but found it was rlly large pieces and filled her up as faster than she expected. I stuck with sake, squid and shrimp nigiri. You can order more than on order at one and they bring a bunch of pieces on the plate for you. There's a small "salad" bar with orange slices, ginger, and other small sides. Servers were friendly but if you want a less distracting experience definitely ask for a booth if it's available! We did about 5 rounds of sushi, overall really tasty :) read more

Disappointing. Been a decade since I've been to the West Sac resturaunt, which is now across the street in bigger digs, and the quality has badly deteriorated. Now the staff are unfriendly though professional and the product freshness lacking. Prime ingredients, tuna and salmon were definitely not fresh, some were not available like squid, and the tempura was cooked in old oil with a nasty aroma. Not visited the new 2nd store in Roseville so no comment but it is difficult to see how the same ownership could have much different ingredients. I've been wanting to try the all you can eat lunch buffet and it did not disappoint. They do end promptly at 2:30 and stop taking orders at 2:15 so come early if you don't want to feel rushed. What's nice about this buffet is that it is all made to order. I like that it's made fresh, although if you're hungry when you arrive you have to be patient, both while waiting to place your order and then when it is actually made and served. At least there's a self serve bar with sides to snack on in the meantime. There's a lunch menu and more expensive and expansive dinner menu. Lunch does include two of the dinner menu rolls, the Capitol and the Crazy. We tried both and my favorite was the Capitol. I also liked the House Tempura roll and next time plan to try the Spider roll. Dessert was included which was a wonderful bonus. For me, it is about a 3.5 out of 5, but if I had to round, it lands at a 3. That said, the quality is actually solid for a buffet, especially the nigiri. The maguro is the standout and probably my favorite thing there. For rolls, I usually go with the Lion King and the 49er, both are consistently good and easy choices. They also have a decent salad bar setup with fruits, different Asian style salads, and edamame, which is nice to mix things up. On top of that, there are plenty of non sushi options if you want variety. Things like fried oysters, tempura vegetables, chicken teriyaki, potstickers, and other hot items. It is a good spread and you can definitely get your money's worth. At the end of the day, it is not high end sushi, but it is not trying to be. I always have a good time when I come here. I've been a frequent here from before they were in this building. All I can say is that I've enjoyed them back then, and I still enjoy them now. The reason I like this place is because when I have a craving for Sushi, I know I'm gonna get my fill every time. I've tried most of the items on the dinner menu (which I'm kinda surprised the price jacked up so much...), but that's only because you get to eat as much as you want. I'm a big eater, so putting down at least 50 rolls is light work. The place is casual, but I've seen people come in dressed up as well. Pretty chill spot but the seats are a little uncomfortable. I think they do that on purpose so people don't spend too long in there lol. The service was good. It was completely full in there, but the workers were able to get the food out quickly. This review is for delivery/take out but after reading more reviews I will definitely have to head back in for their AYCE option in person to try it out. My husband decided to surprise me by ordering sushi from DoorDash on a rainy night and ended up trying Raku since it had good ratings and we hadn't tried it before. Another reason to check Yelp first because we would have known that they're more of a dine in AYCE spot. We ordered the R11. Dragon Roll ($14), R1. Rainbow Roll ($12), M36. Tekka Maki ($8), Wasabi Hamachi ($11) and R65. Bob's ($15). The actual process of ordering and receiving our food from DoorDash was smooth and the timing estimated was correct. The food did get a bit jostled during transport which is expected from delivery. I took everything out and re-plated it to snap some photos. I noticed right away that there weren't a lot of sauces or masago on the rolls and some of the sauces were just ok. An example of this was the Wasabi Hamachi that didn't have very much masago on it and the wasabi sauce wasn't great. The Tekka Maki wasn't my favorite, when it's just the tuna, rice and seaweed you can taste everything and tell if it's super fresh and quality or not. I would say out of all the rolls the Bob's roll and Rainbow Roll were my favorites. While my take-out experience was just ok, I would go back to try the AYCE option which from the reviews seems worth it. read more
