Willy Taco calls itself "chef-driven Mexican fusion," and honestly, they delivered. I ordered the Patagonia Steak tacos with marinated steak, charred tomatillos, chimichurri slaw, chipotle ranch and crispy onions. Definitely punching above the weight class I expected from a South Carolina taco joint bc everything was delicious The chips and salsa were great, service was great, and everything on the plate hit. Maybe I was just in a particularly good mood after spending the day riding with my dad and brother, but this one was an easy win. The cheese sauce was good, everything else...not so much. I ordered the Patagonia steak corn taco. It was actually pretty good. My mom had the carne asada bowl which came with a fried cheese tortilla. Turns out it comes with flour tortilla, so she asked for corn. Up until the point of eating the corn tortilla, which came later during the meal, she rated the food a 2.5. After tasting the tortilla, which she ate in its entirety, she still says 2.5. Lots of grease and cheese. I guess if I had to give my taco a rating it is closer to a 5 and it's not a solid 5 because it was a messy eat . The experience was cool. The seating was dirty but the young lady quickly cleaned it. Our server Aidan was super pleasant and friendly.

She responded by saying, "oh God", but not in a nice way. I asked everyone at the table what I had ordered. They all said an enchilada. No matter, her response was not very nice. It would've been better if she just brought the enchilada and said nothing. She brought me the enchilada, unmelted cheese not warm at all. I'll probably never go back there as I live in California. There was no sauce on my burrito at all, they have bins for you to add your own, but it is cold. Their sauce is mainly what is inferior to the TX TC; the beans and beef taste about the same. These burritos are much smaller as well (but also cheaper). I am a small eater but still hungry aftee just one burrito. If you want to have a variety the smaller sizes are an advantage though. Despite being very busy the food was ready pretty fast. They also have weekday specials , which make it a very economical option which is probably half the reason it is so popular. All in all, it is better than Taco Bell, but grade it on the fast food scale since it is very much fast food. If I were a local I'd probably eat here periodically too for a snack or a cheap meal. It isn't really a vacation meal though since it isn't the Taco Casa we miss from TX.

I try so hard to never be demanding or unkind--I already hate having to be different. It's not a fad, it's celiac, I have no choice.
