The carne asada fries were amazing and I got a strawberry horchata to go with it, also great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was inviting and pretty modern.

Hubby got the fish taco and shrimp taco and I got the chicken quesadilla, all delicious! The service is wonderful!

This is the new location (second one) for Cucho's and is located in the former Pizza Hut building on Butler Road in Mauldin. It is set quite far back off the road in between Cook Out and the Waffle House, so you need to be on the lookout for it. The method is to order and pay at the counter, receive your drink and a number placard for the table and they bring the food to you. Options are street tacos (pastor, asada, pollo, chorizo, birria) with cilantro & onion and fancy tacos with themes, e.g. Steak Korean Tako (steak marinated in Asian sauces, grilled, served with shredded cabbage slaw and chipotle sauce). Or the Grilled Chicken Taco (grilled chicken, lettuce, jack and cheddar cheeses, pico and spicy lime ranch. I had these two that are described. There is a salsa bar with a variety of salsa available - salsa verde, chipotle, dragon hot, creamy lime, etc. The menu also has burrito's, quesadillas, salads, bowls and even a cheeseburger. There are a lot of tables and this is a spacious restaurant. The taco's were enough for me for lunch, having two, they were messy and full of toppings. With just the two, my bill was just under $9. Many people review these as the best tacos in Greenville. This was my first visit. I would compare them more to a Willie Taco or Tipsy Taco than to a more classic such as 4 Tacos Locos (my fav.) or Mextizo (my second fav.). It is just not what I am looking for in a taco. I will try this again since it is close to work, quick, inexpensive and it is good, just not as traditional as I wanted. Their street tacos will be tried on my next visit.

    Taco asada. Meat was fatty.

Awful doesn't even begin to describe it. The service was rude and condescending. $40 for 3 tacos and cheese dip. Cheap meat no salsa on the "salsa" bar. First and last time. Don't waste your time or money. RUDE!!!

Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you do get these cute little wagon wheel looking chips called duros. They're like puffed air and remind me of pork rinds but not as crunchy and probably made from flour. The drinks are all delicious and strong. The margaritas are small but watch out, they'll sneak up on you! Lots of options. They specialize in tequila and mezcal with flights as an option. The bar is the spot to be; bartenders are friendly and they have small TVs to watch whatever sports are in season. The atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, but it's all about the food. Food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. We got the chips and queso, Heidi's Flautas, soup of the day, and the Birria Egg Rolls. Too much food for 2 people so we took some home. Location is in a strip mall; parking is tight and can be a challenge. We won't let that stop us though! We will be back for those delicious Birria Egg Rolls and margaritas!

The first thing that came out was the Mexican Street Corn Fries. Amazing. Highly recommend it. The picture that I saw on Yelp didn't do it justice so I took one that looks more appealing. The breakfast burrito is huge. I ate maybe 1/3 and had to take the rest to go. The Agua Frescas were fresh and fantastic. Best Horchata I have had in a long time. My wife has the Comal Toast and said it wasn't bad. It was all right. My wife is not extremely expressive when it comes to her food so sounds like it was good to me. Staff is friendly and it was a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Appears to have a full bar as well.

It is a supermarket oriented to the Mexican/Hispanic community which…read moremeans it has a great selection of items one would find in the supermarket for Mexican or Latin American recipes. My first visit here was to find corn husks and masa flour for homemade tamales. Upon entering the store, it was as if I had transported to Mexico, the music, the goods, everything was just as if I had stepped south of the border. I had bought tamales at Costco and one of my sons friends came over, his family is first generation Mexican. He felt sorry for me after I served him a Costco tamale so his mother made me a bag full of homemade tamales. Wow, no comparison. I did find what I needed and at an affordable price, but they also have a full butcher shop, produce section, frozen and dry goods sections. The butcher shop has pre-marinated, chopped meat for taco's al pastor among other fresh items. I bought some of that too, just toss it in the frying pan to cook it up and serve with corn tortillas and fixings and your friends think you are an awesome Mexican chef. However, they also opened a taqueria, the pictures on the menu are attached. Ordering can present a language barrier, but you can work it out. The portions are generous, the food is authentic beyond comparison anywhere else I have found in Greenville. There are only a few tables. You order in the back of the restaurant, eat, and then you just pay at the front counter of the grocery store as you leave. I had the Tacos Al Pastor and this was a serving of 4 tacos fresh made from the griddle, as in cooked to order. Excellent! This is a really fun and fascinating place to just visit and browse for ideas on something to cook at home. I like to bring the family because it is free to shop and it feels like you have stepped into a time/space portal and gone from Greenville to Tijuana or something like that.

What you're…read moregonna do is walk to the back... then hang a left like you're entering a side quest in a video game. Hidden back there is one of the most authentic Mexican spots I've found in the Greenville area. Nobody spoke English, but honestly, that just made me trust the food more. Google Translate clocked in for its shift and we navigated ordering from the menu just fine. Order Plate #2 (The Costilla de Puerco en salsa verde) was ridiculously good; super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The asada tacos were also solid, and 4 for $13 in this economy feels like finding buried treasure. Don't sleep on the Horchata; finally a place that sells horchata that's not watered down! 10/10 would absolutely get lost in the grocery store again.

The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The birria tacos were hands down some of the best I've ever had. The beef was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the tortillas were perfectly crisped with melted cheese. Dipping them into the rich consommé took them to another level. Every bite was loaded with authentic flavor and tasted freshly prepared. Their quesabirria tacos are one of the restaurant's most praised menu items for good reason. The asada fries were equally impressive. The steak was seasoned perfectly, the fries were crispy, and every topping blended together flawlessly. It was a generous portion and easily one of the best versions of asada fries I've had. The asada fries are also a customer favorite among regulars. What really stood out was the homemade salsa. You can immediately tell it's made fresh. It had the perfect balance of flavor, freshness, and just the right amount of kick. It complemented every item on the table and made the entire meal even better. Fresh, flavorful salsa is frequently mentioned by customers as one of the highlights of the experience. To top it all off, the fresh horchata was absolutely delicious. Creamy, refreshing, and perfectly sweet without being overpowering. It paired perfectly with the tacos and helped cool down the spices from the meal. Between the incredible food, fresh ingredients, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent customer service, this place has easily become one of my favorite taco spots. If you're craving authentic Mexican food with amazing flavor and quality, do yourself a favor and visit Cucho's Taco Grille. I'll definitely be back for more birria tacos and horchata!
