Ordered some street tacos, chips & salsa, and churros ( bc I am obsessed with churros) Had to go back bc there were onions on all the tacos that shouldn't have onions. Maybe the woman didn't hear me say no onions on some of the tacos, but I called and went back, and they had my back and replaced the order. All that was great and was so excited to dig in, but it all fell apart when we dove into the food. There were Chunks of fat in the carne tacos, bigger than the meat itself. And far worse, a big chunk of bone in the carnitas- to the point that my dental work done today b4 I went there , could have almost been broken with one bite. If it wasn't for the fact that we went thru the taco to remove extra cilantro, would have truly injured myself. (Included in photos to left is the bone piece) Then the chicken tacos, look like they took the bottom of the pan, little pieces of chicken instead of big chunks. Very disappointing. Especially bc I drove back to get replacement tacos. Such a shame. The staff was helpful originally, but the order just fell short with several issues. read more

I've been to this place twice now but will not return. The first time I went the food was below average and the service was horrendous. They were a few others when I went in but the cook was chit chatting and had no sense of urgency. The second time I went in there was nobody in front of me and I ordered a breakfast burrito. A guy came in a couple minutes later and ordered the same burrito but knew the cook so he got his order before me despite me placing my order first. He didn't start mine until about 10 min after ordering. The burrito was very underwhelming, not much flavor, and was just mush. Not sure how this place is still in business - but the food here is absolutely awful and does not justify the price paid at all. If we could leave 0 stars, we would. We paid $35 for a 2 tacos, beans & rice, and a carne asada torta. The Al pastor tacos were BLAND and seemed like reheated meat that was old. Rice and beans had no flavor. Worst of them all was the torta. Bread was completely soggy, and there was little to no actual carne asada inside. I've eaten here multiple times and it's always pretty basic. Service is never anything to rave about, the interior always looks the same, and food is just okay. They are pretty consistent so if I want Mexican food and am in the area I'll stop here, but wouldn't exactly go out of my way to come here. They do have some great deals sometimes, however. We've been looking for a spot just like this, for easy take out to dine in. Comparing to a taco shop style with authentic Mexican food, made on the spot. Great warm and friendly service last night and we will be back for the tacos! Love the pricing too, not too expensive. Sure there are fancier Mexican places around but we wanted to find a spot just like this since moving back to Cali. Great to meet everyone last night and not crowded like the district is. I've been looking forward to trying this place as I pass by it often but it ended up just being average. The ingredients are fresh and not rotten but the flavors were lacking. The green salsa was good and they give a lot of food for catering events. I don't think it's worth another order though! read more

Four stars because this business supports students. I wasn't a fan of the taquitos, and I do think the quesadillas could use more cheese, but the street tacos are amazing! $15.99 for a California burrito. They asked what meat and I said carne, in which she added a $2 up charge. So $18 for a California burrito, great, was expecting to maybe share it, but the thing was half the size of a normal burrito. Maybe it has super quality meat? This was an average at best taco shop, but I wasn't expecting good Mexican food in Irvine. I've been to much better places in Los Angeles and San Diego where they're more known for good Mexican food. I only came here because my coworkers wanted to come here for lunch. They have an extensive menu. After looking over the menu, I went with their taco & enchilada combination. I had them put chicken in my enchilada and carne asada in my taco. It came with pinto beans, rice, chips, and some salad. Don't bother spending the extra $1 for carne asada. It was way overcooked, like beef jerky dry. They do have some good salsa at their salsa bar on the side. They have some decent happy hour deals from 3:00 - 6:00 pm daily. read more

I visited the Ladera ranch location with my wife. We're new to the area and checking things out. Upon walking into this place, we were both slapped in the face with a pungent bathroom smell. Like someone left the door to the restroom open... it just smelled unclean. The Lady behind the counter was nice and was courteous but we browsed the menu for a sec and jetted out of there. Couldn't imaging ordering anything. Please fix that odor. There is another location near my office in Irvine. It's slightly cleaner but not enough for me to choose them as an option over their neighboring restaurants. If I was the owner of these locations, I would explore ways to brush up these locations. I can't imagine they're swimming in revenue. read more

The churros were phenomenal at such a fantastic price. Their service was great too, I was able to speak to my waiter and their cook G Litty. G Litty was extremely funny and told me so much about their kitchen. He also gave me a tour of the kitchen and let me make my own tacos. Been to this location a few times. It's a taqueria!!! C'mon?!!! The food is good like Mexican "street food" is suppose to taste like. Homemade ingredients, homemade/freshlymade Mexican food. It's a solid 3.25 Star and here's why. The service is what you expect: staff with a smile speaking broken English (had to ask 3 times what they were saying). No offence, it was okay. Ordered the Los Cabos burrito with 2 taco combo with a 2-for-1 coupon. - The burrito was okay (3-star) filled with chicken, guacamole, sour cream, & cheese. However, the size was smaller than the more expensive burritos at DelTaco and TacoBell. - The taco combo was okay (3-star). Street tacos with 2 corn tortillas filled with about one full tablespoon of Al Pastor topped with cabbage mix. Definitely not a value for the money. Adding one more taco (for 3 instead of 2) would be well worth it. There was not enough protein to tell you whether Al Pastor was good or not. Rice was tender & refried beans were great with no oil rising to the surface. The menu selection is so diverse with combos and ala carte: tacos, burritos, tapas, taquitos (rolled tacos), sapos, and more making menu selection a 4-star. Priced $8-$11 seems reasonable until you get the food. In conclusion, the quality of the food is good, the quantity for the price (=value) does not compute (2.5-star). If you want taqueria style food and price/value does not matter, then I recommend Tacos & Co. The quality of the food is good, it's just small quantity (that kills me). Will I return? Never have al pastor available, and the carne asada/chicken/carnitas are dry and tough. Burritos come out small and dripping grease. Never have milk or fruit for the kids' meals, and won't bother telling you until after completing the order and taking payment. Toddlers don't drink soda! Terrible service/attitude. As if that wasn't bad enough, the soda fountain has no working ice machine. Oh, and no horchata either? Remove half of your non existent menu then, sheesh. Why withhold napkins and salsa cups? Is there a huge problem of penniless Irvine residents stealing exorbitant amounts of paper products and hot sauce? We have tried giving this place more chances than it deserves. We come to this restaurant often at night but mostly weekdays. The lady in the front is always very friendly. Today Saturday, I ordered a menudo and the pictures will show you something they noticed and still didn't care to give me nothing but 2 big pieces of bones! I'm the size of bones filled more than half of the cup they gave me. I'm not dumb and I know you noticed but, maybe because I didn't give you tip money. Well sorry it was to go food. This place is so delicious they serve the best mini tacos ever and fresh chips. Very happy I found this location in Irvine near the Tanaka farms attraction. These tacos were so fresh, flavorful, delicious, and delightful. I definitely wish I would have ordered a taco platter because they were that good.
