Super friendly service. I went to Kaiser for an appointment and yelped near by taco spots and came to this place. I was in a hurry as my daughter's lunch is at 12:10 and wanted to pre order. The lady was so nice, I paid and waited less than 10 mins. I like spicy stuff and asked for jalapeños. The cook was so nice he fried me an extra set of jalapeños which he went above and beyond. I will be returning to this place and I recommend the meat quality you won't be disappointed.

Solid carne asada burrito. All ingredients tasted fresh and the meat flavor really came through while not being too salty. Great balance of flavors and ingredients. I was surprised by the free side of chips and pico de gallo. $10.50 w tax is a steal in Glendale!

This is the carne asada burrito I was served, meat was old, refried, and tasted spoiled.

I ordered a carne asada burrito today, and the food was absolutely disgusting. The meat tasted old and refried, and when my mom mentioned it, the owner dismissively said, "a lot of people ask for refried meat," but nobody goes to a restaurant to eat old, reheated meat. He was extremely rude and condescending. As an emergency department registered nurse, I know this type of food handling is exactly how people end up with food poisoning. To make matters worse, when I called prior to my mom speaking to the owner, Karla (an employee) told us we would receive a refund, but when I showed up, the owner refused. I once liked this place, but the experience I had was shocking. Who treats their customers like that, and who thinks serving old meat is okay? I will not be returning, and I strongly caution others to avoid this place.

SO delicious! We were at the zoo, and the kid wanted tacos. Sounded good to me, so Yelp brought us 6 minutes away. It's in a strip mall with ample parking. They have two 2-person tables outside, and 5 or 6 inside. We were met with a standard, but sufficient menu. We were also met with fabulous attentive service. She greeted us, answered questions helpfully, was proactive about offering water, came out to clean tables, and offered smiles. We were served chips and salsa. Some of the best salsa I've had! We both got tacos. The kid got chicken. I got shrimp. He dug in immediately with an, "Mmmm." I tasted mine, which were definitely an, "Mmmm" as well. Delicious and worth returning!

I'm a picky white girl and I was in the area craving a breakfast burrito I ordered the Machaca burrito and really enjoyed the flavors. The egg was perfect, the beans were tasty and the pico de gallo was fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of cheese. My wait was just a few minutes. Service was excellent and price is nice well done! If you are coming to LA zoo or Griffith Park this is the perfect spot for a delightful breakfast or lunch!

Small little place in a tiny strip mall. Mexican food, liquor store, Halal Market, European Pastry Shop, Jewelry store, etc... a real multi-purpose corner strip mall with cramped parking. You'll need to maneuver your car into the many angled spots. Tacos Cancun is mostly a take-out place that has some tables if you want to eat there. You order at one window and pick up at the second window. Service is prompt and polite. I had the Two Fish Taco Combo which comes with rice, beans, chips and salsa. Also ordered a large Horchata with limited ice. The fish chunks were tasty on the soft corn tacos. Overall, good tasty food, not overly expensive, quick and polite service on Christmas Eve afternoon. Feliz Navidad.

I was near the area because I was waiting for traffic to die down and it was about time to eat, so after looking around at a few places I decided to go here! First of all, this place gives off mom and pop shop vibes (i love this vibe very much). Worker was very friendly and helpful in helping me decide what to get. I settled for the fish taco combo (comes with rice and beans). Chips were also included. I also was craving carne asada fries so... had to splurge and get that too . Food was great! I really enjoyed this entire meal. Flavors were on point. The only downside (more about preference) is the cheese used on the fries. Im not the biggest fan of liquid cheese but other than that, the fries were crispy, the carne asada was moist and flavorful, and that guacamole was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a no frills, mom and pop style mexican meal!

great fish tacos. combo #4. generous portions. nice seasoned fish. crispy chips & fresh salsa

    Rude lady

I ordered a California burrito and in the description it said it comes with sour cream. I told the worker if she can give me a side of sour cream and wanted to charge me $2 something. I said nvm. I double check the description and I told her it was supposed to come with it & she refused to acknowledge the fact it didn't have it when I showed her the burrito. She was so rude to me by her attitude saying it's in the middle of the burrito. I literally got a fork and started digging to show her!!! She gave me a little tiny container with the width of a quarter and she kept eyeing me the whole time I was dinning here with my son. I never felt so uncomfortable in a taco shop. I'm from San Diego & this shop has to the worst customer service I've experienced. I didn't want to finish my food after.

The nachos were absolutely amazing--one of the best parts of the meal. Before we even ordered, they brought out chips with green and red salsa, and even those chips were delicious. However, the enchiladas were not good at all. Still, the nachos were so good, with guacamole and cheese coming together perfectly, that I would definitely go back whenever I'm craving nachos. Lately, I've been really enjoying watching World Cup soccer games, and it was fun to watch and cheer together while having dinner there. One thing I noticed: the women's restroom was not well maintained at first. There was no toilet seat cover and no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, so I felt it could have been cleaner and better managed. However, when I went back a second time, I saw a staff member actively restocking supplies, handing out toilet seat covers and toilet paper to others, and communicating with housekeeping over a radio about what was needed. That made me feel better about how they manage the facility. Overall, from the hostess who seated us to the servers, all the staff were very friendly, which made the experience even better. And, the nice atmosphere is a plus.

Apparently, my friend and other mutual colleagues/friends still kept in touch with each other on a regular basis (I wasn't good about that) and met here fairly often on Mondays. My schedule was always difficult, but on this fateful date, I was available and geeked to hang out with people I haven't seen in over a decade easily. Having served Montrose since 2002, they have since become a pillar of the community with their family recipes and fresh homemade cuisine. I was surprised I'd never heard of this place since I grew up in the area and still relatively frequented it. Would my first time at the sun be my last, or would the family feel (and happy hour!) bring me back!? PURCHASE(S) Chips & Salsa (COMP): Both homemade, the chips were crispy and warm while the salsas were spicy and warm - arriba! Blended Mango Margarita Blended ($7.00 HH): Mango flavor throughout with enough tequila, this was a nice way to start my imbibing on this hot day! Asada Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Marinated tender beef with diced white onion, this was simplicity at its best! Carnitas Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Same as the asada tacos but chicken! Strawberry Margarita On The Rocks ($7.00 HH): Fruity and sweet with just enough tequila but more ice than I liked. Bean & Cheese Nachos ($5.00 HH): Hot beans and melty cheese, this was very basic but served its purpose. Peach Margarita On The Rocks ($7.00 HH): Refreshing but same as the strawberry version. Cheese Quesadilla + Chicken ($5.00 + $1.00 HH): Another dish that helped to absorb the alcohol with a decent amount of chicken. Bohemia Pilsner Beer 4.7% ABV 12floz Bottle ($5.00 HH): Bright amber color, malty aroma, light body, malty sweet warm watery flavor, crisp finish, and light malty sweet watery aftertaste. A slightly elevated Mexican cerveza - salud! Pacifico Clara Lager Beer 4.5% ABV 12floz Bottle ($5.00 HH): Bright amber color, malty salty aroma, light body, malty warm watery flavor, clean finish, and light malty watery aftertaste. An easy-breezy beer! SERVICE Warmly greeted by a young gentleman who ended up also being our server. I was the first to arrive, and when I mentioned my friends' names, he took me to their standard booth, gave me a menu, a glass of water, and complimentary chips and salsa. He returned moments later, took my first of many orders, and as our ever-growing party kept showing up, he was on us with such ease while he kept his head on a swivel as orders came from all directions. He was the bomb - muchas gracias! PARKING (FREE): They shared parking within a small strip mall that featured a handful of other businesses such a laundromat, a liquor store, and more. Otherwise, there were many spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A casual clean somewhat packed floor plan with two dining areas (the main front and the side) filled with a mix of booths and partitioned tables, I didn't notice an actual bar, and minimal cultural decorations added some splash along with some 2026 World Cup fever. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the front doors and windows while an assortment of electric ceiling lights would've covered the rest as it got darker. There were several low-volume TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I had a fun time at El Sol Family Restaurant mainly because I caught up with so many people I haven't seen in so many years and to be introduced to a new business to me with a very good happy hour. I hoped to join them for more happy hours and actually try their full menu. The food was yummy, the prices very affordable, the menu was rather sizable, and the service was awesome. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

When we finally cut into it, we realized they had given us a completely different burrito/order. I immediately called the restaurant, and I was told that corrections or refunds could only be made the same day. At that point it was already around 11:45 PM. I live about 20 minutes away, so driving back would have put me there after closing. I even offered to send a picture of the incorrect order, but was told they couldn't access the email. What made this even more frustrating was how unaccommodating the employee was. Knowing there was no realistic way for me to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant before closing, I expected at least some effort to find a reasonable solution. Instead, I felt like I was simply being told there was nothing they could do. When I said I would contact upper management for a resolution via email, the employee even seemed relieved, rather than concerned about resolving the issue. I understand mistakes happen, but the restaurant made the mistake--not me. The least they could have done was offer a refund for an overpriced burrito that I didn't even order. It's now past midnight, and I have to drive way out of my way just to find somewhere that's still open to get food. Very disappointing customer service, and unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again.
