I had to update my review !!! Every time I come here I get the pleasure to have Elvis as my server ! And honestly no lie or hype he is the best!!! He is very amicable and has phenomenal service. I recently came for St. Patrick's day and it was a very good time! The atmosphere was fun and good time!! Happy hour is the best and good prices. The food was really good and green margaritas!! I really like it here it's my fav!! Make sure to ask for Elvis! -Marshay D.

We came here for a late lunch to a almost empty resturant. No host to be seen so after a few minutes we self sat ourself at the bar. A little pricey for a $100 lunch with 2 drinks, one being a Mocktal and a $10 deep fried icecream. We each ordered different taco plates that came with rice and beans. We enjoyed the tacos. They added a service charge as part of our bill. If you are celebrating a birthday they do not sing to you or offer dessert on the house.

I can't believe Acapulco is closing. Came with my family for old time's sake. We started to eat here for the kids eat free on Tuesdays deal all the time! I ordered the shrimp and skirt steak to relive the nostalgia of the kid's fajita meal and it was great. The servers are the best here and brought us so many rounds of chips. Their plans to close have brought more patrons back in, but I overheard that they will stay open for another couple months at most. Hopefully they can stay open for longer!!!

    A. is located right off the freeway and has an ample lot. Seems like this and similar restaurants such as El Torito (ET) are just not as popular with younger crowds. You can get better and cheaper food from local taco joints and trucks, but both A. & ET are still a nice sit down experience for a friends and family, business, or special occasion meal. Service was friendly and mostly efficient. They did check on us 1-2 xs. However, as at many places for most of our visit our server was working too hard covering too many tables despite the place not being that crowded. We went for happy hour and ordered off of that menu. Their happy hour is a good deal if u do not order too much. We got a $4 margarita, potato chorizo tacos (2), chicken taquitos (4), and guac for the free chips. They have Pepsi products rather than Coke, so auto minus one star for our taste--we like our Diet Coke esp. w/ Mexican-Hispanic foods. It was super dead and quiet on a Sun night around 5:00. The overall quality and experience was better than ET. ET in Pasadena-Arcadia makes u feel a little uncomfortable and the happy hour items are not bad, but A. has better quality. We would come back here again and would definitely recommend giving them a try for happy hour or a meal.

Food was delicious. They served the best flan I've ever had! Yummy! My husband has been coming here since he was a kid. He said it hasn't changed much. Still decorated with typical Modern can flair. Service speed was average but the server was super nice.

It's been a long time for what ever reason. Nice to be back. It's always a good sign seeing a couple of the long term regular employees. The place is festive with nice music and the dining room is festive in it's coloring! I had a three item combo, it was good, the shredded beef taco was actually small chunks of beef and seemed "fatty" the Chile relleno and chicken taco were both good. We also ordered Carnitas which was always a favorite here. It was an ample portion and happily very lean, it was good. Service was ok, the great part was seeing long term busser/friend Alex! What a friendly great guy! We'll be back.

Came here recently for a their beloved Margarita Monday, which is a must for any Monday when in the Glendale area! The service here is always so friendly and while it can be on the slower side, I'm appreciative that they let us hang out with friends for hours to catch up! I love their outdoor patio, especially on a warmer night! It's spacious and has ample and comfortable seating! I also like how it's fenced in from the parking lot, keeping it feeling like a separate space! As far as the margaritas go, they are cheap and depending on the bartender, can be weak or strong! There's never been a time where I've gotten drunk from having 4, more just a sugar rush! Regardless, they're still fun, indulgent and come in great fruity flavors! My favorites are the mango and coconut blended margaritas, only a few dollars each! Unfortunately, as a vegan, there's not really much options for me but they do continuously bring out refills of complementary chips and salsa. These are fresh and tasty and necessary to have with any margarita! The restaurant is very clean and well maintained both inside and outside and has a fun and festive vibe to it! Their giant free parking lot and proximity to the freeway makes it so convenient!

We went there today with a party of nine for my brother's and my moms's birthday. Our server was extremely rude and unfriendly. He didn't ask what kind of tortillas I wanted for my fajita, he skipped my son when taking our drink orders and he didn't bring the shot of Grand Marnier that came with my margarita. We asked for a different server and the manager was great, he gave us a new server without delay. Our new server was great, friendly and attentive. After this we had a good experience. My daughter ordered a pizza from the kids menu and it was not what we expected.

Seafood trio thoughtfully packaged in Togo box. Delicious.

It was easy to feel comfortable and even easier to want to come back. They have a really solid beer selection, but the real winner is their cider--it's 8% alcohol, which is insane for a cider, but hey, I'm not complaining. They had the hockey game on, which I definitely appreciated, and they also have a pool table where you can write your name down to play. Not sure if there's a charge for that, but either way, it's a nice touch. They're open pretty late, and while the location doesn't have a bunch of other bars or spots around, the upside is tons of parking--which I totally love. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out and maybe even making some new friends while you're there. (If you go in, tell the bartenders, I said hi)

ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

I didn't fancy the flavor and this is a very popular drink so it stinks up the place every time it gets served to someone. Dark Magic $18 - Objectively not a bad drink but too tart for my partner and I didn't prefer the flavor. Service 5/5 Standard service. Our waitress got us some free shots, very kind. :) Ambiance 4/5 I love the vibes, the darkness, the decor. It's just too stinky and smokey whenever they serve the Painkiller.
