My party of seven had reservations for a Friday night and were seated right away. The chips were complimentary, but beware that the guacamole is so tax. It was still good and the presentation was honestly very artistic. As it darkened outside, the overhead lights dimmed inside the restaurant and their colored lights grew stronger! We ordered several frozen margaritas and they were generous sizes for a decent price, but were very melted by the time they were served. They were also a bit bland: not very tart, sweet, or strong. I shared a plate of the flautas (two steak / two chicken) and three chicken enchiladas, which both came with rice and beans. Everything was made well and the flautas were super crunchy, so that was a huge plus! It was enough to have plenty of leftovers if you're not too hungry. We were celebrating a graduation and didn't know there was a cake holding fee of $15, which I personally feel is on the pricier end. The food service was a bit slow, but we all got our food around the same time. Our servers were also very attentive and accommodating. It's genuinely a nice place to have dinner if you're at the Americana at Brand.
What a beautiful restaurant we came across while passing through town. We were hungry and one thing about me I like trying new restaurants and I was hoping it was similar to the one we tried back in New York. We had great service, the restaurant was pretty empty so that was nice to beat a crowd. We got our food pretty quickly too, and boy was it a lot, I couldn't believe how big the portions were here. The food was tasty and full of flavor, the salsas that they give with chips is for free and we loved them both, they were hot and flavorful. I really liked this restaurant and I'm glad we stopped.
It's tough to judge any restaurant on its performance on New Year's Day, with its staff surely tired and not wanting to be working, but Frida is a multi-location operation with all things, no doubt, standardized, so the outcome should have been better. Host was very friendly, but our server seemed miffed to be anywhere other than where they preferred to be. Chips were fresh and salty good, and the two salsas were fresh and tasty. A good start, but that was the end of the excitement. I ordered a Carajillo, which should be a blend of espresso and Licor 43... the drink was not shaken, so the espresso floated atop the liquor, and there was no blending of flavors. Seemed like a very lazy preparation. My meal was a duo of tacos: carne asada and carnitas (with chicharron added). Neither had much flavor, and you'll see in the photo that the steak taco had half as much meat as the pork, which is just transparently cheap. My wife's steak quesadilla ($27!!) was generous of size but equally lacking in flavor. It seems that despite the upscale decor and elevated prices, the kitchen is cooking for the least common denominator diner, serving food that offers nothing in the way of ingenuity or taste. I have no motivation to ever return.
My experience here was GREAT! The food was good and delicious and filled me up very good. The service here was nice and good. Our waiter was very nice and sweet. He helped me out because I didn't know what to order, but my girlfriend knew what she was gonna order. Pozole all the way for her! Omg she loves Pozole! The ambiance here was very spacious and can seat a lot of people at least 100+ or so. Great for an Anniversary Dinner, eating out with friends or a birthday celebration. Would definitely come back here. Thank you FRIDA MEXICAN CUISINE!
This place was so so nice. The food was delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere was really fun, the vibe the folks walking by and all of it-GREAT! I had the Chiles Rellenos and it was just humongous. I could only eat less than half and had to take home, but absolutely delicious. The quesadillas were stuffed with the fillings. It wasn't just cheese, like it really had the fillings that they said would be in them, shrimp had shrimp and steak had steak and you didn't just feel like you were eating a tortilla with cheese inside. Overall I'd go back again in a heartbeat. Great location, great service, great food.
The fajita steak was very good. The fajita came with rice, beans and guacamole, which everything was tasty.

We had already eaten somewhere else, but my girl wanted to give it a try, so we stopped in for some drinks. Definitely not worth it. They gave us chips and salsa, but the chips weren't fresh and the salsa was super watered down -- that alone was enough for me not to order any appetizers or food. To be fair, I didn't actually try the full menu, so maybe I'm wrong about the food, but that first impression was enough for me. On the positive side, the service was good and the staff were super friendly.
Frida is one of my favorite restaurants to dine at while at the Americana! I have been coming to Frida for years and it's such a solid spot. Think of like a more expensive, higher quality Acapulco. It's usually chill on week days for lunch but dinner time does get busier. Weekend nights for dinner is even more busy but I've never had to wait longer than five minutes. Service is fine, on busier nights they do tend be a bit slower. But that is as expected. They have complimentary chips and salsa and the chips aren't too deep fried which I love. Their drinks menu is mostly focused on margaritas. Can't go wrong with their strawberry or mango margaritas. I specifically come here for fajitas. They're get healthy but packed with a ton of flavor. The rice and beans don't taste greasy at all. And lately I've been enjoying the chefs special menu. There's a BBQ chipotle short rib on there served with creamy jalapeño mashed potatoes and asparagus and it's delicious. The short rib is so tender and juicy, it falls off the bone. Something along the lines of it is slow roasted for five hours. Please add this to the permanent menu! Other items I've tried are the flautas, tacos and esquites. Again everything is fresh and has a phenomenal presentation. Check this place out!
We brought the family on New Year's Eve, we ordered pozole, fajitas and shrimp cocktail. To drink we had sangria and margaritas. Our server was Miguel Mendoza and he was fast and super friendly and kept up with our loud family . Our food was delicious and our orders came out quick!! Chips guacamole and salsa were delicious, we ended up getting churros and flan for dessert. come on by and give them a try!! Great ambience and delicious food!!
Ok. Don't let those good drinks you got at the bar that one time fool you. I should have "listened" to all those other reviews. The food is not good. There was little to no seasoning. The food came out tepid at best and then left a greasy taste in your mouth. The flautas were weirdly covered by excess shredded lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream (to cover up the ridiculously thick tortillas covering the tasteless meats inside, no doubt). The carnitas were lacking in flavor. The drinks bought to the table lacked the flare (and the flavor) of those we had at the bar. The space itself, is weirdly expansive. The mirrored ceiling makes the empty coldness even worse. Top tip, don't go and wait for a table - any table - anywhere else at the Americana.
The location of this Frida's is great, being at the Americana and feeding off the energy and foot traffic all around. We sat inside and it was nice, the windows/doors were open to the outside so there was a nice general atmosphere. Service was pretty good. They seemed a bit busy, but our server got our orders quickly. I shared the carnitas plate with another person and had more than enough to eat (of course combined with the amazing chips and salsa). The flavor of the carnitas wasn't exactly what I was expecting or hoping for - a bit on the drier side and a tad too sweet for my taste. That said, the appetizers and bites I shared with my group were pretty good and I would come back to try something else on the menu, as there were a bunch of other things that looked tasty.
This place needs to hang up their aprons. They take up such a prime location at Americana and its mediocre Mexican food, early 2000's decor, patio chairs all over, and the food is BLAH. We should have known it was going to be meh when all the other restaurants were busy except this one, literally empty except for a few tables. HOW do they pay their lease and how has Americana allowed them to renew their lease even after adding high end stores to the mall?! The steak meat is so tough and seasoning tastes like a packet you would get at Kroger. Don't even get me started on the beans! They came out dry, crusty, and looked like canned beans that were scooped out. The ambiance is so depressing. They need to either bring in a more high end and nicer Mexican restaurant or change the concept and design to something else.
Extremely awful service!!! My family arrived at 3:35pm on Monday, 6/15. We were standing by the front desk, waiting to be seated. The staff were watching the soccer game. No one acknowledged our presence standing for 5 minutes!!! When one guy noticed us, he started approaching us but it was too late!!! We decided to walk out!!! Sorry to disturb your entertainment watching the soccer!!! You have a different priority, it's not Customer Service!!!! Zero Star if possible!!!!
On Saturday evening, June 27th today, I had dinner at Frida Mexican Restaurant at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. We ordered the Nachos Grande, enchiladas, and shrimp tacos. The nachos were absolutely amazing--one of the best parts of the meal. Before we even ordered, they brought out chips with green and red salsa, and even those chips were delicious. However, the enchiladas were not good at all. Still, the nachos were so good, with guacamole and cheese coming together perfectly, that I would definitely go back whenever I'm craving nachos. Lately, I've been really enjoying watching World Cup soccer games, and it was fun to watch and cheer together while having dinner there. One thing I noticed: the women's restroom was not well maintained at first. There was no toilet seat cover and no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, so I felt it could have been cleaner and better managed. However, when I went back a second time, I saw a staff member actively restocking supplies, handing out toilet seat covers and toilet paper to others, and communicating with housekeeping over a radio about what was needed. That made me feel better about how they manage the facility. Overall, from the hostess who seated us to the servers, all the staff were very friendly, which made the experience even better. And, the nice atmosphere is a plus. read more

Frida is one of my to go to Mexican Restaurants. Food is ok and they are smaller in portions compared to the other Mexican restaurants. There are plenty of seats outside and indoor and they usually ask inside or outside. Service can be slow at times. They bring the chips and salsa sometimes you don't see the waiter/waitress for a while to place order. Ambiance is really nice. If you seat outside, you get to see the people walking. For parking, you can park in the mall or park in Americana parking. read more
Such a lovely restaurant with plenty of seating inside and outside. So many menu options to accommodate all diners. I really enjoy the Happy Hour menu and the convenience of shopping since it is located at the Americana. I have mixed reviews about service. I've had excellent service where the food came out in a timely manner and had attentive staff, but also had a time where food was really behind and our server was no where to be found-we never got around to ordering a second round of drinks. Would still come back and give it another try. read more
I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and the taquitos appetizer. It's so fire and you get both potato and chicken taquitos. Both were so good. The rice was okay that came with the enchiladas, it was more firm than I'd like. But I'd absolutely get the chicken enchiladas entree & the taquitos to start again if we're ever back. Delicious. The chicken mole and jalapeño margaritas, I'd consider skipping that. The ambiance is clean. Parking inside the Americana Garage was $7. read more

Frida is an exceptional Mexican restaurant that consistently delivers a great dining experience. The food quality and service are top-notch and have remained consistent over the years. We enjoyed some cocktails, chips and salsa, salad, and octopus. For anyone looking for a great Mexican cuisine and great service, Frida is the place to go. It's the kind of restaurant you can rely on for a wonderful meal every time. Hasn't changed over the years. read more
3.5 stars for the food (a little better than average), good vibes, and good service. Prices are high, but the large portions of appetizers and entrees serve 2-3 people. The free chips and salsa were good. Both salsas were mild spicy. The dark red one was smoky with a chili pepper flavor while the green one was citrusy, oniony, sweet, and sour. - Classic Margarita on the rocks ($12). The flavor was good and very lime forward. I could taste the alcohol, but it was on the weaker side. - Queso Fundido ($15.95 + $2.95 added chorizo). The melted oaxacan cheese was just alright, a little bland. We added chorizo at our server's recommendation. I appreciated that the chorizo wasn't salty, but it did not have a distinguishing flavor. The queso was served with warm flour tortillas, which I think were sonoran style. The overall effect was like DIY hand-torn quesadilla bites. It was a little heavy to eat before an entree. - Carnitas Platter ($24.95). The pieces of pork on top were dry. The meat got juicier towards the bottom of the pile. The pork in the middle was dry like chicken breast, but not tough to chew. At least the flavor was good; it was savory, and I could taste the beer. I gave the chicharron to my bf. I liked the rice, which had some pieces of carrot and zucchini in it for health. The pico de gallo was okay, but didn't really taste like pico de gallo. It was more like a sweet tomato salsa. I liked the avocado salsa better. The refried beans were good, as were the housemade corn tortillas: they were thick and chewy with a slightly earthy taste. read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. None of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. There were no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food with a friend from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently do have happy hour. It's Monday - Friday from 3PM - 6PM. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking garages for this establishment are dispersed all around. There are several parking garages all around the Americana / Glendale Galleria. Take your pick. I would highly recommend parking at the Glendale Galleria's parking garage and walking over. The parking garage at the Americana is small and tight, so if you drive a big or nice car, you have been warned! Also, this restaurant is located right next to South Brand Boulevard, and BevMo is right across the street from it. I lowkey got lost finding this restaurant because on Apple's Maps, it said it was located behind the Cheesecake Factory when in fact it wasn't. SMH Food: I ordered the carnitas enchiladas, which came with Mexican rice and refried beans. Enchiladas are one of those foods that, when done correctly, you can't stop thinking about The enchiladas that I ordered were packed with carnitas. I was decently surprised by that. They totally didn't skimp. The carnitas were soft, rich, juicy, flavorful, and extremely tender. It was so fricken delicious. The corn tortillas that encased the carnitas were warm and soft. They weren't soggy thankfully. Both the green and the red sauce had a good consistency, and they both weren't spicy at all. I loved both sauces. The refried bean that came with my enchiladas were rich and creamy. The Mexican rice was cold and disappointing, but thankfully that wasn't the star of the dish. It was the enchiladas, so I didn't really care for the Mexican rice at all. I also ordered a sangria. Slightly disappointed with my sangria because it was definitely watered down, but it still fruity and tasty. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, welcoming, and polite. Gabby was our server, and she did a fantastic job serving us. Amazing customer awareness. She knew that I was undecided on which sauce I wanted for my enchiladas, so she told me that she would make sure the kitchen put half red and half green sauce on my enchiladas. Perfection! Excellent communication skills. She listened to my friend and I and asked all the right questions to ensure that we got the dining experience that we wanted. Overall, my friend and I had a phenomenal experience dining at Frida thanks to Gabby and her outstanding customer service. I honestly would have given this place 4 stars because I think their sides for their entrees and sangria could have been better, but Gabby was the saving grace for this review. She is the reason why I am giving this place a 5 star. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. read more
Great experience all around! If you can, request Gabby as your server! & if management is reading this, please, please acknowledge Gabby for her exceptional dedication to taking care of her diners. She deserves a raise & all the accolades. She truly was the reason why my expericne was phenomenal. Also, manager Fabian really knows exactly what he's doing. The restaurant fires on all cylinders & runs like clockwork. The entire (hostess, servers, assistants, management) staff give the genuine impression that they take great pride in what they do & everyone there truly knows how to treat its diners. I very much appreciate that. I had been wanting to go here for a quite awhile & every time I pass by -especially on the weekends- it seems like the this is the place to be, especially come evening. I made reservations via their website (about 2 weeks in advance) so I'd highly recommend doing so just for good measure. Although we dined outside, the quick glimpse of the beautiful decor has convinced me to definitely come back & have dinner indoors. That said, I'm very happy that I dined al fresco - in the perfect L.A. weather of 5pm (that magic Summertime when you don't need a jacket). It also helps that they have plenty of patio heaters. One thing that I appreciated off the bat is that ordering a flight of any of their tequilas & mezcals - especially the top shelf items, allows you to try things without having to go in on an entire bottle. I went with a flight some of their top 3 mezcals: - Burrito Fiestero, Cenizo - Quiereme Mucha, Cuishe - Quiereme Mucha, Tepextate Instead of shelving out what would had been $61 - I got to try a slightly smaller sample of these 3 premium mezcals for a very reasonable fraction of the price. Which also included a sample of house sangria as a chaser. As far as food goes, I knew that I wanted the Frida Molcajete (pictured) & it didn't disappoint. It's a great way to sample a great array of the delicious foods that they have to offer. I also highly recommend ordering the additional (3 prawns for 12.95) Come for the food, come back for the service! We visited because it's well known as a tourist spot in San Diego. The staff were friendly, but the area was quite noisy, and the tableware didn't seem very clean. The food was decent, but it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. read more

WOW WOW WOW!!!! Delicious! Ask for Miguel Mendoza. What an incredible service! The food was amazing. We were in town for the Rose Bowl and decided to stop by! Absolutely worth it! I dont know how they are not 5 stars. Drinks were to die for. Food was fresh and delicious. I asked them to make me just steak and shrimp fajitas and they were mouth watering. What a way to celebrate my new years eve. If they were closer to home I would be a regular! read more

The green avacado based salsa was a nice change from a more typical green salsa. I had the octopus chefs special, amazing! (yes I often choose octopus when it's on the menu!), my friend had the chicken enchiladas (her go to here) and we finished with the churros for dessert. The drink menu had some really good options, I went with the spicy margarita made with my favorite ancho chile liquor (Ancho Reyes) The place was quiet on Thursday so we didn't need reservations, but they get packed on the weekends, so they are recommended. We came here after having dinner nearby and Michael was helping us. He provided excellent service during our visit. We sat at the bar and only had drinks, but he was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed that we ended up buying a dessert! Although our visit was brief, the experience was great. Went in at almost closing (didn't realize, we were walking around Americana and everything else was packed). The staff is super friendly and was able to accommodate. At sit in, you get an order of chips and salsa. Due to the business of a weekend shift, it took a little longer for the food to come out. It's a nice lively restaurant to sit and have drinks and tapas. Not to sit and have a full meal. Nacho portion was huge, but 1 standard taco is $8. Food was good, but nothing crazy or different from an average Mexican restaurant or taco stand. read more
Took myself on a date here for a self care day. It was a hot day and people watching was nice on their outdoor section. Though, because of how their glass wall is situated, it caught a lot of heat so it was really uncomfortable to eat there in a hot fishbowl while I was slowly sweating like Al pastor at a taco stand. The food was also okay, but a drink and an enchilada plate coming out to $50 with a tip is not it, even for this area. The peach mojito was sweet. That's the flavor it was. Sweet. Couldn't taste the peach and the mint was muddled, but didn't taste minty. Nothing mojito about it. The cheese enchiladas had the perfect amount of cheese but I was disappointed the chicken enchilada didn't come with cheese inside it. Went a couple of weeks ago. Pretty good selection, with omelette, taco and waffle bars outside and the rest inside. Fruit was fresh. The food in the warming trays inside wasn't hot - some barely warm. It is decent, but the price is high.

Usually 10:30 - 3:30 but check Google or their website for special times for holidays like Easter Sunday.

When I called last night they told me brunch was $31.95 per adult.
How much is Sunday brunch for each person?
The last time I went it was $25 and it includes so much food it's like a buffet style and there's a guy making omelettes pancakes and other things outside. Also includes desserts and you can add bottomless mimosas for an extra charge.
Is this location under new management? It's not the Frida I've come to enjoy over the years. It's changed and NOT for the better.
