I wanted to really like Tacos Chano. I normally like taco trucks. I ordered an Al Pastor burrito which was okay, not my favorite. It was very big, with plenty of beans and rice. The Al pastor was okay, but not my favorite. My spouse liked the veggie taco (beans and rice). They were very nice and the service was fast. I just wish I liked the burrito more. I will try something different next time.

First time stopping here to grab a bite and I should've gone to Taco Bell. Granted I did order some pupusas from a "taco" truck. The pupusas' were burnt and dry (no good). I also ordered some asada fries and they were not good at all. I'll be giving them a second try, maybe order some tacos next time. But for now, no bueno

Finally made it and arrived with people in line, which is definitely a good sign. The lady at the register was so friendly. She informed us they are open 6 days a week and closed on Mondays. It's located next to Central Market on the corner of Moorpark Ave and Poindexter. There was a churro stand across from them when we stopped by (on a Friday night) so dessert was also an option! As for the food: the asada burrito was tasty! The meat perfectly seasoned just the way we like it and far from being bland and over shadowed by the rice and beans. The pastor tacos were also good but for me had a bit more cinnamon flavor (which was too much for my liking). The asada tacos were good as well only wished they were more on the grilled side but that is just my preference! Nevertheless, the food was definitely tasty and excited to work my way thru their menu!

Adriana , this wasn't served in a cup or plastic bag . It was a cabeza burrito served in a brown bag . That is the thrash can with a plastic bag we're the burrito went in . Sorry I normally don't leave reviews .

A remarkably unassuming facade protects what I can only describe as a piece of culinary authenticity buried in the heart of Southern California. For my first (and, without a doubt, not my last) trip, I went with the chicken enmoladas: Mexican-style rice, beans garnished with crumbled Cotija (or at least I assume), and three shredded chicken enchiladas swimming in a shallow pool of some of the most delicious black mole sauce I have tasted. Heat, sweet, and salt dance with one another, combining for a balanced yet robust flavor profile. Cliché though it may be, I could drink this stuff through a straw. It was simply THAT delicious. As seen in the attached image, the chicken enmoladas are a work of art for the eyes, the taste buds, and, I'd venture to argue, the soul. For a place that has been around for the relatively lengthy duration of two years, it is a surprise to not see it accrue more reviews. Part of me is torn in contributing to the attraction of attention to what is undoubtedly a gem in the Conejo Valley - one whose accessibility I will enjoy until this place inevitably ends up on local top-eatery lists. If you are in Moorpark - or frankly even remotely in proximity to this phenomenal establishment - you have got to stop in for lunch.

I go out frequently and I cook at home a lot so I think I have pretty good perspective. We consume a fair amount of "authentic" Mexican food, and we travel to Mexico frequently. Recently we went to La Katrina and Manny's. Each has their own style but I wouldn't say one is hands down better in terms of food quality. But where this place sucks is atmosphere. Yelpers are being kind when they say it's a "hole in the wall". People, it's a dive. It's hot and stuffy. It can accommodate maybe 20 guests. 90% of the male patrons wear baseball caps. Parents entertain children by blowing up balloons then releasing them to make buzzy noises. Hahaha funny, NOT. People play their phones on open speakers, all while a soccer game is going on a tv high on the wall. There's one restroom, albeit immaculately clean, but still just one so you better be quick. This is not a quick serve restaurant. Wait service, such as it is, is slow and unobservant. I.e. we had to ask for chips, and when they arrived, no napkins, so we had to wait for the rest of our order to be able to wipe our hands. Our burning question from the menu was WTH are "glass" drinks? We asked and the waiter gestured towards the refrigerator with bottled drinks. Ok? So how are they different from "bottled" drinks on the menu? I'll post a photo so you can maybe decipher its meaning. We never got a straight answer. But what was crystal clear is, they don't offer fountain drinks. And no iced tea. If there was water, we weren't offered any. We arrived 10 minutes before a table next to us, with three guys. Within just a few minutes they were enjoying their lunches while we sat there. Finally when ours arrived, yeah it was fine, but nothing to do two huzzahs and a backflip over. And definitely not something I'd go out of my way for. I ordered the "regular" (as opposed to Oaxacan) enchilada plate with green sauce. I have a pretty good tolerance for "hot spicy", but this one made me sweat. Luckily, with their apposite of drink offerings, I had horchata, which helped to put out the fire. My husband ordered the chile relleno plate. He enjoyed it and said the sauce atop it was uniquely good. Their rice and beans were pretty good; needed a little salt on the beans. Maybe we'd return for takeout, but if you're considering this establishment for date night... don't.

He brought our drinks, chips, salsa, and food out promptly and continued checking on us throughout our meal. Unfortunately, one interaction with another server really affected the experience. The CO seemed to be out on my ginger ale, and it tasted awful. When I politely asked another server if he could help me get a different drink, he seemed visibly annoyed. He grabbed the cup from my hand and walked away while I was still trying to speak to him. It was close to closing time, but the attitude felt completely unnecessary. Thankfully, William stepped in and brought me a bottled ginger ale with a cup of ice and apologized for the bad-tasting drink. That is great customer service, and we really appreciated him! Aside from that interaction, the food was good, the ambiance was great, and the setting felt very authentic. My husband ordered a beer that came out ice cold and refreshing, which he loved. We will definitely give this place another try because overall we enjoyed it. Unfortunately, sometimes one server's attitude can affect an otherwise great experience.
