DELICIOUS! Indoor and outdoor seating available food was made to order when received it felt nice and hot...fresh off the grill if you will! This place was down the street from our hotel so we decided to give it a try and do not regret our decision Staff is friendly and helpful aswell!

I was greeted with a friendly smile as soon as I walked in the door. I went on June 1, 2026. It was a Monday so they had a deal for two tacos, rice, beans, and a soft drink for only $9.99. I chose that as my meal and it was so good! They have a very clean set up inside. The salsa bar has so many options, and the green salsa I chose was very flavorful.

It's about time Oceanside / Carlsbad gets a good Mexican spot!! You have to try their habanero salsa, guac, and horchata 10/10. Great tacos and taquitos, I was so happy with the food and the service here.

First time at Tacos Don Paco. It's nestled in the new Arroyo Verde shopping center. Ample parking with a new nice clean storefront. First thing I noticed was their advertised "Home Of The Salsas" on their signage as I entered. Menu is a normal taco shop menu but a couple items stuck out which were the quesabirria taco ( with lamb ) , sopes, gorditas and menudo (looks like daily). I ordered a few items. A cheese enchilada plate, carne asada quesadilla, carne asada burrito, adobada torta and a quesabirria taco. Everything came out hot and fresh. The burrito included rice and beans which I'm not usually a fan of but also included guacamole and sour cream so it had a nice flavor. The quesabirria taco was stellar with the lamb meat, a real quesabirria taco. I also tried all 9 of their salsas and liked just about all of them. They do run on the hot side as even the mediums seemed hot. Portion size was good and overall a great dine in experience. To me it seems like Taco Don Pacos recipes were passed down from family and you could tell. Not the average taco shop taste/recipe's. They also have agua frescas,beer, and Mexican cokes. Will be back to try some other menu items

Taco Don Paco is a casual taco shop in Vista with a laid back neighborhood feel. The food was decent overall, but nothing that really stood out compared to some of the other taco spots in the area. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was simple and relaxed, making it an easy place to grab a quick bite. It's not a bad stop if you're nearby and craving tacos, but there are definitely stronger options around North County.

I was hoping for more taco places in Oceanside that would have Al Pastor on a spit, so I was super excited to see Tacos Don Paco have it! PARKING Located in a new small shopping plaza around a business area parking was easy to find during lunch hours on a weekend. LOCATION The interior is clean, and casual. Decent amount of seating. The coolest thing there is seeing the rotating al pastor and their large selections of salsas. SERVICE Staff is friendly and they got food out pretty quickly. Can't ask for much else! FOOD/DRINK We tried the al pastor tacos and fish tacos this time around, and both were delicious. Al Pastor Taco: Decently sized but absolutely delicious! The meat was flavorful and had slight bits of charring that adds texture and smokiness. The pineapple bits add a level of sweetness to balance it all out. Battered Fish Taco: What a surprise hit! Mightve actually enjoyed their fish taco a little more! The batter was super crunchy and the fish very tender. They also added crema on top which gives delicious creaminess. Highly recommended! CONCLUSION: Overall a real delicious taco spot and worth checking out if you are up in North County SD area!

Tacos Don Paco, is branching out from their location in Vista and bringing all of their famous salsas & recipes with them. They are located in a very strategic location that is on Rancho del Oro, just north of Oceanside Blvd, & inside a shopping center that will also be feeding those who will be attending events at the FRONTWAVE ARENA nearby. Tacos Don Paco is known for many great dishes & they're also known as the Home of the Salsas. They have a pretty solid selection on their menu, which ranges from : soft-shell tacos, hard-shell tacos, rolled-tacos, burritos, gorditas, sopes, quesadillas, nachos, tortas, mulitas, tostadas, fries & even menudo. They also carry a wide variety of meats: adobada, carne asada, Al pastor, lengua , cabeza, carnitas, tripas, birria, chorizo, chicken, shrimp, machaca & even fish. Because they are known for their salsas, there's a lot to choose from, with varying degrees of heat, intensity, & flavor. I shared a video of them in this review. Their interior is extremely basic, with not much decor or ambiance, but it is spacious and great for family seating. Their bathroom was clean & simple too. The one downfall that I can see to this place is their parking situation. Although they have a few spaces directly in front, and there are parking spaces in the main center lot; If it ever gets really busy here, I can tell it will be difficult to find a spot, and it will be a tight fit. But since the interior ambience doesn't lend towards dining-in to eat; I'm thinking this may not be an issue if many customers simply get their orders TO-GO. The customer service was friendly, and only had one lady behind the cashier. All in all, I think that Tacos Don Paco is a very solid contribution to Oceanside's inland dining scene. Although many may find their prices higher than other taco spots, this is to be expected with their location, and they also have Taco Tuesday Special Price deals ($1.99).

I live 10 min away and decided to try this out on my way home today, and I'm so glad I did! The place is extremely clean and organized, and the staff were super nice and quick with service. Since this place has a namesake involving tacos, that's what I ordered: I ordered 1 of each for a carnitas, carne asada, pollo, and quesabirria. I also sampled salsas numbers 5, 6, 7, and 8. Paired with a large horchata. I ordered it all to-go and brought it home; everything had great flavor, big portions, and I enjoyed it so much, forgot to take a picture until I was more than halfway through. Looking forward to returning with my husband so I can try something else! read more

First time going wanted to try the tacos. First of all for the size of the taco over priced & burger f you want a home made corn tortilla be ready to pay extra???? Girl at the registered was like talking to a wet mop just there. Ordered beef roll tacos & was told they ran out of beef. How do you run out of beef your a new restaurant need to make sure your prepared so people keep coming. Any ways we didn't order & walked out!! Good Luck. read more

I have been excited for this place to open up. I work nearby and always want new food options. I got a quesabirria taco and the potato rolled tacos. My coworker got the carne asada street tacos. Everything was soooo good. The meat in the quesabirria was super tender and flavorful. The potato rolled tacos were seasoned really well. The place is nice and clean and then have a salsa bar with a lot of different options. Everyone was super nice. I'm glad to have this so close to work. read more

The food and service was top notch. Came from out of town for a soccer tournament and stumbled upon Tacos Don Paco. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We were excited to see they had Quesabirria! I walked in for the first time this week, I was quietly greeted and immediately noticed the place was spotless, the staff was extremely friendly and ready to serve me as soon as I got to the register I ordered a carne asada burrito and two tacos one carnitas and one carne asada they have an extensive salsa selection with plenty of options regardless what level of spicy you like the food was amazing and fresh I strongly recommend Taco Don Paco to any one looking for a clean friendly place to eat some amazing Mexican good. the inky thing I wish is that some of the salsas where a little low but I could go around to the other side of the salsa bar to get them. read more

Breakfast burrito had great ratios, much better than anything around here as far as breakfast burritos go. Cali had sour cream, guacamole and pico. Ordered it with no pico it was really good. Salsa bar was legit. Each salsa I had was fantastic. The salsa bar was nice and clean. read more

Service! I was there with my mom and my sister during lunch yesterday. The lady who was taking our order with tattoos on her arms was rude and was rushing us. She seemed so annoyed as soon as she started taking our order and couldn't wait to get through it. As I observed her to take the customers order behind us she was all smiles and pleasant to them. I wanted to test a variety of foods, so I ordered a mulitas, a gordita, and a quesabirria ... they were all super delicious! What makes this place stand above other taquerias I have frequented is their time and dedication in meat preparation. It tastes like they take more time in the marination process and also in the careful selection of spices. The meat is juice and spicy ... and the portions are huge!!! read more

We were very excited to try a new Mexican place close to home. We were super disappointed. The staff seemed cold and disengaged. We were only 1 of 2 couples in the place and still felt like we were on a deserted island. I had a simple vegi burrito and it was so wet, from the lettuce, I could not eat it. I really hoped that this would be a new spot to pick up good Mexican food , but it will remain on my no go list. read more

I had a luncheon party today with 11 guests at Tacos Don Paco, Rancho Del Oro. We ordered Surf and Turf Burritos, California Burritos, and El Pastor tacos and also freshly made chips and guacamole! Everything was delicious, especially the Surf and Turf and El Pastor. Gracie and her team were so nice and helpful! The Chicharron tacos are delicious. Specially with the habanero sauce on top. Goes well with a cold Modelo negro. Not many taco shops have a cold beer available. My husband loves the rolled tacos. Highly recommend read more

This was my second time visiting this establishment and I meant to write a review for my last visit. Well, let me tell you my experience I had both times! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly cashier. She answered all my questions I had about different dishes I was interested in. It all looks so good when you are starving ! Ha ha. This time I tried the Chilaquiles (so hard to find spots that have this dish, yet alone one that makes it right...Tacos Don Paco does NOT dissapoint!) The chilaquiles were perfect! I ordered my family their burritos, the meat was seasoned perfectly, and all the salsas they offer added a burst of flavor in every bite! The entire service was outstanding- friendly and efficient, and the staff were more than happy to make future recommendations for the next time we visit. The restaurant was clean, well organized and had a fantastic vibe. Tacos Don Paco is. Must-visit for any taco (or Mexican food) lover! I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu! read more

It is extremely fresh and not overpowered by acidity, fishy smells or rubbery shrimp. The ceviche here is legit. Great. AND ONLY $10 (for cameron). If you order anything here, get the ceviche first. I'm anxious to try their aguachile now. We also ordered the fajitas ("suprema" with chicken, steak and shrimp). Fajitas did not come out sizzling at all. I have never seen this before. Also, there were only two shrimp. The steak/carne was bland and dry. Not great. Wife ordered the Sopes (3) and mother ordered the Enchiladas Cameron. The sopes were okay, but a bit bland. Wife had to salt everything on the plate. The enchiladas had a sauce my mom said was too sweet. She wasn't a fan. For all three dishes to be a miss is completely strange considering the sheer number of 5-star reviews. I want to believe. We must have come on an off-day, but the place was busy. Quite a few larger parties were here, so this place is popular with the natives. We also grabbed a Model and a Corona. Only $5 for the beers! Total for everything came to $117.64 (with tip). I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, because their food is still AMAZING and their staff is super nice and I believe deep down inside that they just had a REALLY OFF night. We had reservations for a party of 9 last night. The table was set up nicely and accommodated a few extra if needed, which I thought was cool. We started with some adult beverages: an Old Fashion, some Hotel Nacionals, a Fashionably Late, and a couple of beers. Everything started great. Dennis, our server was very cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the mac and cheese sides and they were delicious with huge pieces of savory bacon in them. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.
