The menu is simple but seemingly well thought out. Prices were good for LA. I ordered a carne asada burrito 2.0 and a medium cucumber lime agua Fresca for less than $20 total. At the time we came in, the restaurant was virtually empty, which was a relief because this location is quite small. Food came out quick, and someone brought it out to where we were sitting. It comes with some radish, a grilled green onion, a lime, and two of their salsas (a salsa verde and what I believe is their chiltepin salsa). Right away, you can tell the quality of the tortilla from the feel and the slightly translucent look of it. Upon giving it a taste, I'd say it lived up to the hype. The tortilla was flavorful and chewy, and the meat inside had a fresh smoky flavor from the grill. While I prefer refried beans in a burrito, I could tell the beans were cooked well too. Altogether, I have no complaints. Is it a life changing burrito like some make it out to be? Maybe not. To me, it tasted like a few very well executed ingredients put together rather than a transformative dish. But for the price, I think it's very impressive. You just don't get a tortilla like that anywhere. The agua Fresca was very good too, and with prices of aguas frescas pushing $12+ at some places, this felt like a great deal. I would say I recommend the pepino limon over the coconut horchata, which was just a bit bland.
