First time here on a Tuesday for their Tuesday Tacos. We ordered 3 asada, 2 al pastor and 1 carnitas to try with a side of rice. We loved the Al pastor the best, then asada. The carnitas taco was a little bland however not dry at all. Their rice was also flavorful. We loved our meal, very good prices and tasty. Love the food from Tacos El Rancho. Been coming here for a few years now. There aren't a lot of authentic street tacos near me and this one's close by, so whenever I'm craving and don't feel like going far, this is my go to! I love that it's an inexpensive yet quality eat, delicious. My friends and I got Asada, Pollo and Al Pastor Tacos and a Combination Plate with Asada. I've gotten their quesadilla and chips before too and I love it. Both their red and green salsa are good! Don't forget to ask for lime and Radish. Is this my favorite spot? No. Is it good? Yes!! Really not sure why it only has three and a half stars, I feel like it should have at least four stars! I will say I think this place tastes better than Taco Rigoberto's Bros taco truck in Santa Ana and that place was very popular. I remember one time when I had Rigoberto's and I wasn't satisfied so I went and got Tacos El Rancho on the way home haha! I wouldn't go out of my way to get this but if I'm in the area I would definitely get it and I live really close so I come more often than not. They have inside seating, love! There's never been a wait for me when I go. They're located in a small strip mall with a free parking lot so no issues with parking. You can use card but I think they still charge you a fee. I used to like this place. Food was pretty good. But the last couple of times I went the guy working the cashier kept shorting me on change. What a gem!! Do not sleep on this spot, they have some of the best cabeza and lengua tacos north of SD! My husband and I dropped by for a late night snack and they quickly accommodated us. When your wondering about sometimes you come across a taco shop where your not sure about eating there but then you see one of your friends who hardly ever writes reviews say it's good so yeah needless to say we just went after that! We were pretty much the only ones here the whole time but it was kinda late so they were super quick to get us our food. Of the options here I really didn't order much just a cheese quesadilla and an asada taco I enjoyed the both of these as they were quite yummy all around! Their salsas were also pretty good adding some much needed zest that always goes well with tacos and quesadillas! I went during lunch time expecting it to be busy....but it was opposite, I was the only one there. The tables were kinda dirty and there was trash on the floor. Only one lady working as cashier and a guy who's cooking. As I ordered my tacos they were basically done by the time I finish swiping my debt card. I am talk about fast service. But I would like my food to be fresh. But whatever, still ate them of course. As I sat down all alone, there was no music nor the tv was on...so it was all quite. All I heard were the cars outside and the two employees talking about random stuff. Like instead of just chatting maybe they should have cleaned the lobby. WhereTF have I been strikes again!!! I have driven by here so many times, but never ventured in: Shame on me! The menu is pretty simple. However, Tacos El Rancho offers buche, cabeza & lengua - not your every day offerings in a place like Fountain Valley. In addition, TER also offers menudo on the weekends, and is located on the Northwest corner of Magnolia & Talbert in FV. I ordered two buche tacos ($1.30/each), and a carnitas burrito ($5.49). My cousins ordered 13 carne asada tacos of high maintenance origin ($1.30/each; not pictured: Some w/ no onions, others w/ no cilantro, et al). To drink, I had a large tamarindo ($2.49/32 oz). I can usually inhale Mexican food. However, I was full after the two tacos and 1/2 my burrito. The tacos are packed w/ so much meat, they are the best deal on the menu. The buche was super tender and nicely seasoned. The tacos were better compared to previously reviewed Las Barcas, Normitas or Sanchos Tacos (all in HB): 5 Stars. On the other hand, the burrito was just OK. It wasn't packed w/ meat compared to the tacos. Nonetheless, the carnitas tasted good: 3 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, it was basic, but surprisingly clean. You can see your food being prepared. Contrastly, Albertos around the corner appears dirty compared to TER: 4 Stars. Likewise, the service was really good. The cashier was friendly, and the cook was super efficient: 4 Stars. I've found my new Mex place close to HB! The only downsides to TER, is no drive thru, and it closes at 10 pm. Otherwise, TER has some of the most authentic tacos in the area. I can't wait to try the menudo! read more

Located on Magnolia and Talbert in a small strip mall across from the gas station. I ordered a breakfast burrito (carne asada, eggs and cheese). The burrito was wrapped in foil, which kept the burrito nice and toasty. The cheese melted really nicely and was ooey-gooey! Needless to say, I gobbled that burrito up. In the area craving some Tacos.. I chose this place because of the reviews on Yelp.. but I was highly disappointed. I will not go back to this place. Around 11am, I walked in to order a take out order total of 6 tacos and a side of chips and salsa. The lady seemed friendly at first. The restaurant was cute. The menu was simple and painted on the walls in big bold letters so it was easy to read and order. The food was prepared right then and there, I was the only customer in the place so the food was ready pretty fast. She asked me which salsa I wanted, there were 2 options, so I said one of each. But then I realized with 6 tacos and chips and salsa I may need more salsa so I just said "can I actually get another side of salsa?" They were just the small plastic 1oz sauce containers, so its not much at all. She made a reluctant and annoyed look that she didn't bother to hide at all. The extra salsa I asked for, she only filled it up maybe half way. She handed it to me and I just said thank you and no acknowledgement or response from the lady. There were also two pickled sides, one being onions and jalapeños and the other was carrots and cilantro type thing. They were very salty.. not so much vinegar-y or spicy. Wouldn't recommend. There is also a $0.55 charge for debit/credit card transactions. Which I didn't mind paying, I also tipped 10%, my usual tip amount for take out orders. All in all, the food was pretty decent, not extraordinary but the experience and the quality of service I received... I will definitely not be back.
