Stopped here while in this area of town. First time. I just happened to be helping a friend paint their house, and we needed to refuel. A simple and colorful interior with a mix of around 16 tables and booths, also a couple tables outside. Order at the counter, and they bring to your table. I went with a taco salad- they had a large variety of meat selections to choose from and a choice of either black or refried beans. Me? Ground beef and refried with their spiciest salsa. My other half ordered their steak (a skirt steak thinner cut), beans, and rice. His steak? Awesome! Charred just a bit and full of flavor. I regretted not ordering it, however my taco salad was good. The salad just needed more cheese in my opinion. One aspect I always rate a mexican spot is their beans and their refried didn't disappoint! A variety of options, nice service and a good price. I have been to the location on Conway Rd and loved it. The one on Chickasaw was also excellent. The restaurant is extremely clean and that includes the restrooms. I had never tried Birria style and was assured they are delicious by the friendly young lady at the counter. My coworker got three steak tacos. We thought the food was delicious. I will definitely be back for some more of the birria tacos! read more

Friendly staff and good mexican food. Their aguas frescas are good too and the restaurant is small but clean.

Service was very fast and efficient. The restaurant wasn't super busy and the staff were friendly. The tacos were great but the burrito bowl was alright. I definitely would recommend a taco over the bowl. read more

Don Julios was packed (surprise) so we drove down Chickasaw to give this place a try. It's a counter service restaurant with a pretty extensive menu which made it difficult to pick. My wife had the Tamale platter which she enjoyed. The mild sauce is hotter than most mild sauces. The Masa was moist and delicious and the filling was also good. I ordered a chimichanga which was huge. However, it wasn't very crispy. The tortilla ended up being a bit leathery. I got chicken and chorizo as the filling and both meats were excellent. I wish I would have just ordered a burrito. I also tried an Al Pastor taco which was good. However, I probably shouldn't have gotten all of the toppings. The meat was delicious though, and the tacos are a bargain. Other than the taco, I thought it was a bit pricey for what you got. It was busy so other may not agree. I would go back and will just order tacos next time. They do have a wide assortment of protein to choose from. And I know I love their chorizo and chicken. read more

Good and fast service if you're in a hurry and hungry. Got this to-go on my lunch break on a Monday evening. I like that the tacos are double tortillas to make it sturdier. However, the tortillas were not grilled enough and still fell apart despite being double wrapped. It made the experience sloppy and I normally enjoy the corn tortilla since I eat gluten free. I ordered 1 of each Shrimp, chicken, and al pastor tacos with all the toppings. I was left with a bunch of leftover soggy corn tortilla in the end. My boyfriend enjoys their burritos and I'm sure their flour tortillas don't have the same problem of falling apart like the corn do. It was filling for the affordable price of 3 tacos but I wouldn't go back for tacos again. I normally go to the tacos el Rancho on John young and their tacos always hit the spot. This is a smaller mom and pop sized restaurant that seems to be an extension of the same chain. I live 5 minutes from this location so hopefully they can adjust their tacos to match the quality of their original location. read more

My bestfriend brought me here sooo excited her and her family have been coming for years... Today the staff she's never seen. The young man who took our order made us repeat it about 6 times it was pretty bad I won't lie and I had to step in to repeat it so she wouldn't go off. Mind you his mask was off as well The order was 2 chicken 1 asada 1 pastor 2 shrimp With cilantro & onions only & salsa on the side. 1 elote w/ everything on it. All young & had their masks off completely or just hanging off their face as in tucked in beneath the mouth. The staff were super loud talking about a wedding & shoe shopping we couldn't really converse about half way through they finally put the music on which helped. Tacos were great! I regularly order from TER and their food is usually good, and they usually get the order right, but not today. My wife hates onions, and I put in ALL CAPS, NO ONIONS, SIN CEBOLLAS in English and Spanish. They could not follow simple instructions. My wife's order came in with onions all over it and slathered in sour cream which was also not part of the order. No bueno!!! They said they could replace the tacos but I had to go pick them up myself. I ordered for delivery just so I didn't have to go out to the restaurant. Also, the taco meat was tasteless. They usually season the meat when they prepare it on the flattop grill, and if made correctly they are some of the most authentic street tacos available, but not today. We are in about the middle of 2 of their locations. It used to be the Conway location and we had wonderful food every time. For some reason, its changed to the Chickasaw location and it hasn't been as good. The last time we ordered, we ordered a pork tamale platter. One of the tamales was pork, but the other was a spicy chicken tamale. I'm a little wimpy when it comes to spice and it was too much for me. This time we ordered flan for dessert. The texture was mushy and when I turned it over it was kind of black on the bottom, see the picture. Im hoping it baked too long and scorched somehow, but it looked almost like mold. Ordered food from Uber Eats from here and when my food arrived the carne asada in the taco salads was raw. I called the restaurant and they told me that they couldn't refund me because it was ordered through a 3rd party. They also told me that since it was uber eats, that uber could have done something with the food from the time it was picked up to the delivery time. The manager proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do but requested for my phone number and name to only tell me that I should make a note for the next time i order to make sure we let them know to cook the meat thorougly and so it won't happen again. I am loving this place more with every taco I get! My first taste was a month or so ago when my husband picked up a variety of taco's for the tasting. I can tell you that they travel well. My taco loving son quickly because addicted and since then we go back almost weekly. However, this review is going to be based on my in-dining experience. Tacos El Rancho is a smaller place located in the Publix plaza. You have your choice of booths or tables. It's decorated in fun Mexican theme with decoration hanging from the ceiling, and taco/Mexican themed photo's. The service is super relaxed and not overly eager. I felt like I was ordering from a friend. The taco's I had today were the pasture, and chicken. The toppings to choose from are at the counter so you can have as many as you want. Both tacos were very tasty, large and come in a basket. They run around $3 a piece. El Rancho has a wide variety besides your basic beef, chicken & pork. They have tongue, fish as well as a variety on the chicken and pork such as pulled, and pasture. That Gold Chimi is calling me and I have no doubt we will be back. What I don't like is that each menu (inside, the paper 'take home', and online) are inconsistent. I don't get it. Seriously at all. This place is horrible. The first time ordered a chimi. It's was small, loaded with rice, barely any cheese topping and not even crispy. I said maybe it was fluke. Try again. I got the carne asada fries. Whaaaaaa?! The 'fries' weren't even fried? Just limp potatoes. As for toppings it was just a stew of unrecognizable none flavored mush. Have been a regular for two years, the food has always been average or above average. Two unfortunate things... they never seem to have the same staff, doesn't seem like they can keep anyone for more than a month which brings service down tremendously as food is inconsistent and service is dependent on the training of the staff. Second, prices advertised are constantly changed and over the three times I've visited in the last two months, have not seen menu or advertised prices change... that doesn't mean they won't charge different prices! Make sure to check and double check so your order is done correctly - and ask for a paper receipt. Overall I hope they work through the issues as it's a above average spot. read more

We were looking for a taco spot around the area and decided to stop in here. At first we were confused on whether we sit and they take our order or had to order ourselves, which you do. The girl at the register was very unwelcoming and was just staring at us, no hi or nothing. After ordering Our food was at the table within 2/3 min of us sitting. I ordered the tacos on UberEATS. I ordered all soft shell with chorizo, carne asada, and ground beef. They put the sauce on the tacos instead of giving it to you in the side. The chorizo was very flavorful but a bit salty. Besides that it was pretty good. The ground beef was alright. It was a bit hard and chewy for my taste. It wasn't that flavorful as well. The tacos el pastor is fantastic, and brought be back to trips I've taken to Mexico. The guacamole is fresh and the tomatillo sauce is fantastic. Grab an ice cold beer and enjoy. The front door was not automatic so I couldn't access myself. Local patrons were willing to assist but staff didn't pay attention.
