    Queso Blanco

I love the new menu and the new look of the place. We tried their 2 for $20 special on Sunday - 1 starter, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. For starters we tried the Queso Blanco and it's even better than their Golden Queso. I had the chicken quesadilla and my husband had the burrito. All was served so fast and it was delicious.

I stop by tijuana for aome late evening tacos. I ordered two ground beef taco and chips and queso. (The white queso) the food pretty ok. The food was fresh and it tasted fine. However the service was great , and thats what keeps me coming back to this location. So i giving this stop at tijuana flats an average.

I have been to this Tijuana Flats before and it's not bad but not amazing. The cashiers are very helpful and have been friendly. They delivered the food to the table and table touches were done. The restaurant is clean and there is a decent amount of space. The food is ok and that's where a full point and a fraction is lost. The queso is really good but if you're not ready to spend the extra money on it, you don't know. The salsa is on par with a decent salsa that you can find in many restaurants but not something to phone home about. The guacamole is under salted and I think there may have been salt on the sauce bar but it would be nice if there was something on the table. The plain/regular chicken street taco is a bit bland and the blackened is a little better but not by a lot. Definitely hit the sauce bar to improve the taste. I know that on a previous visit I have enjoyed the food too but I do believe I grabbed sauces from the sauce bar tand thT makes a huge difference. Will I eat there again? Yes. Will it be high on my list of Mexican style restaurants? Not really but it's more affordable then a full service casual place. I'm more on a 3.75 out of 5.

We were greeted right upon entry and there was plenty of seating around. They have a diverse menu with plenty of options for people who both enjoy spicy food and non-spicy food. They also have a full bar if you would like a drink. The overall ambience is very cantina like. They have wooden chairs wooden tables and a bar at the center. They do have some very colorful decor around as well. Staff was friendly throughout. I opted for the burrito and it was ginormous and I definitely couldn't finish all of it. Definitely well worth the price point for the amount of food that you're given. Everybody was very happy with their meals and drinks and I'll definitely be returning to this location. Overall: A+ Easy to see why this is a local favorite. Definitely will be back for more off of the menu!

It is always busy after work because the place is that good. On our recent visit we ordered a beef dip to have with the chips and salsa. They also have a tasty guacamole on the menu. For drinks we've gotten the pitcher of margaritas our last two visits and it really is the perfect amount for 2 or 3 people. Each person gets at least 2 glasses full which is a great value for the price. Things we like: Pastor Tacos, Nortenos Tacos, Tacos Gringos, queso dip, and the rice and beans with the main dish. Service is always wonderful, the staff is attentive and helpful if you want recommendations. If the dining room looks full, try sitting at the bar and you'll be right at home.

They have a HUGE menu with many classic dishes and also offer table side guacamole. Their alcoholic beverage options are plentiful, but my recommendation is the Pima colada served in a pineapple, which comes either blended or on the rocks. I also enjoy that they offer a freshly made salsa bar as well as chips and salsa for the table. My only caution is that since this location is relatively close to UCG, it can get very crowded on the weekends, especially holiday weekends.

Service was great - food was fast! My husband and I each got specialty margaritas - we ordered "small" and were glad! They were pretty big. The mediums must be huge. Drinks were delicious and had a ton of fruit inside. My husband loved the mole chicken and the bean dip that comes with the chips was yummy. I, however, should have stuck with the beans. As a vegetarian, I decided to give some love to the soy taco option. It had some good reviews from 4-5 years back and I try to support creative veggie food when I can. I make tacos with a soy food product and they're delicious, so I was hopeful. I should have refrained. First of all, they looked pretty gross. Little pink lumps, not at all what I was expecting. I added cheese and ordered them in soft corn tortillas (they come in lettuce). It was so bland and had an unpleasant texture. But it also had this fake smell to it. I added salsa, thinking it would help. It did not. The pinto beans that came with it were also pretty bland. I barely ate one of the tacos. It's been a long time since I couldn't eat the food I ordered. They should stick to beans and rice. I also got a cheese enchilada from the à la carte menu. That was good! All in all, I might go back if I wanted a fruit salad in my margarita, but I will absolutely not order the soy tacos again!

The house margaritas were too sweet for my taste. I was excited for the birria tacos after the rave reviews but the beef was dry. Same with the chicken in our other dishes. Service is excellent, super friendly and welcoming. The spot is always very clean and inviting. Traditional Mexican music videos playing on a few tv screens, nothing too distracting...adds to the ambiance. We've tried quite a few dishes here and have never been disappointed: chicken enchiladas with house "special sauce", shrimp and mushroom enchiladas, the chicken tortilla soup is really flavorful and LARGE, grande burrito, chimichanga, and we always order guacamole. My only complaints would be that the music is a little loud, and with the restaurant being packed, there doesn't seem to be much acoustical treatment to help with the noise, so it can get a bit overwhelming. This place is definitely made for people who eat with their eyes first. The hanging flowers, greenery, moody lighting and gorgeous decor will have you taking tons of photos before you even look at the menu. We started with drinks. For food we started with chips and salsa. Give me chips in a flowerpot and suddenly I am fancy. Then we ordered the Tostones and Plantain Roll with Salmon. Just a heads up, do not order any additional meat or seafood with the Tostones. This dish is fabulous on it's own. The Plantain Roll was an unexpected combination that my tastebuds thoroughly enjoyed. It was definitely not your typical sushi roll. We sat at the bar and our bartender took great care of us. Between the environment, creative menu and friendly service, this was definitely a fun experience. I would suggest you come hungry, but make sure your phone is charged because at this spot, the camera most certainly eats first.
