The wife and I decided to come here after seeing an Instagram video. They looked legit. We traveled from Maricopa in search of good tacos. In fact, I'm always in search of good tacos, specifically tacos that rivals California taco scene. I haven't found one yet that rivals El Buen Gusto in San Jose! We arrived as soon as they opened. We especially wanted to try their Al Pastor tacos, but we noticed the spit rotisserie wasn't rotating. But we ordered two Al Pastor tacos anyway; even though it was going to more than likely be heated on the stovetop. We also order two carne asada tacos and a Suadero taco. O course we had to order two Mexican cokes. The tacos looked amazing when they delivered it to our table. The Al Pastor tacos were surprisingly good! The marinated meat had a slightly sweet citrusy flavor. The meat was moist and tender. The carne asada tacos were good, not fantastic, but good. It didn't have much flavor. The Suadero was good. I liked the texture of the meat. I may have liked it a bit more than the carne asada. The wife liked the Al Pastor so much, she ordered a tostada with Al Pastor. She thought the tostada would have a layer of refried beans, but it didn't. She was a tad bit disappointed. This time the Al Pastor wasn't as flavorful as in the tacos. Not sure what was different. It didn't have that slightly sweet citrusy flavor that was noted in the taco. Overall we had a good experience. Maybe next time we'll arrive a little later so the grill will be nice and seasoned and the rotisserie spit will be rotating! read more

Worst tacos I've ever had. I ordered the al pastor and carne asada tacos. The al pastor had almost no flavor and was covered in a strange sour cream and pico de gallo mixture that completely overpowered everything else. Carne asada had a very chewy texture with chunks of unseasoned guacamole. To make matters worse, the salsa tasted only like tomato. I have been following this place on IG for a while. They have a food truck but recently opened a store front which makes it easier to visit (open daily 9-midnight). They serve authentic Tijuana style tacos which if you have not had, I highly recommend. I tried one asada, suadero, tripa, and chorizo. Like most people I am very particular about how I like my tripa taco, so sadly this one did not meet the mark (for me), hence the 4 stars. But the other 3 were absolutely delicious. read more

Stopped in after a long day of work. There was only one other person in there so I got my order quickly. I was able to order my food, but it was a little difficult communicating because the gal didn't speak any English. I got no problem with that except when the person you're supposed to communicate with is taking your order I'm not sure how that's supposed to work. I got three Carne Asada tacos and the food was decent, but I sat down to eat, and I was swatting flies the entire time I was trying to eat. Honestly their service is horrible made me pay for two potatoes cause they didn't have up on their menu what includes in the potato my son is can't eat cilantro neither onions when I told them that they just told me I can put it on the side. The flavor of the pastor was good, it was greasy though and the portion was small. The sauce on top is not guac. That was disappointing. The carne asada was bland and not tender. They have a service fee of about $1.50 for using card on top of the expensive tacos 6 tacos for $30, crazy. The room was super warm, my baby was even sweating. You want authentic Baja (Tijuana) style tacos?--Then this is the spot! I am originally from Baja Mexico, near TJ and I can vouch that these are very authentic and true to what you would find in Mexico. I got the asada and adobada and they were so flavorful and tasty! They have plenty of other protein choices but for me asada and adobada are the most traditional. I live in Chandler so this was out of the way--but I have no issue traveling to places in which I feel the food will be worth it! The owners were the ones preparing the food and they seemed very friendly and personable, this matters! The only criticism for me is that the guacamole and salsas are slightly under-salted but that's not anything that a salt shaker can't fix! Middle of the road food. For all I bought it was $47 which is kinda expensive. Nothing really had much of a taste besides a Smokey flavor. Salsas were okay nothing too hot. Overall bland in every flavor nothing really tasted like anything except the burrito was full of grease. They also did not have any rice or beans available. I've been to plenty of Mexican food establishments here in Phoenix (haven't been to Mexico yet) Like It's sister establishment, both of these restaurants serve a GREAT product. You get what you need, in greatly fair portions. It really does feel like you're in east LA. Looks great on your plate, great service. I really felt I stepping into another land. Too expensive for the tiny portion, don't forget to get a receipt. The cashier will accuse you of not paying for something. The cook is nice he had to step in to vouch that I paid for my soda, and does a good job trying to load up the tiny tortillas. Food is okay but not spectacular. Finally a taco spot near me that is actually good! The tacos are stuffed with meat, the ingredients are fresh and high quality, including the salsa bar. I ordered 2 tacos de asada, 2 tacos de adobada and carne asada fries and all of it was delicious! The carne asada has that "char" flavor to it and the adobada has just the right amount of seasoning to it. Other places that sell adobada don't have the right ratio of seasonings and sometimes one seasoning can overpower, but not here. This little gem was a total reminder to never judge a book by its cover! Simple menu, like 7-10 things to choose from and boy-o-boy everything I tried with my son was absolutely delicious! I was a little taken back when my son said turn in here pa and all I could see was a neon "muffler shop" sign! This food truck was setup in the parking lot and has what looks like a more permanent tent for their patrons to dine in. The tent also had some patio heaters which kept us warm as we tried 3 different types of their street tacos. My favorite was the chorizo as it had just the right amount of spice! No cheese in any of the street tacos ($3.50 each) unless you request it. My sons favorite was the asada street tacos. Total pride of ownership here and just take a look at those custom made table clothes adding a nice detail to the dining tent. Clean as a whistle I'd like to add too! You won't find any margaritas, Coronas or chips & salsa here. They had a nice selection of colas and a few teas and of course bottled water.
