We hired Tacos for any Event for a corporate event for 110 guests in May. We confirmed the guest count to be 120 so we would have a little extra in case more guest showed up. Halfway through the line of guests waiting to be served, They ran out of the included sides of rice and beans and toppings of cheese, and sour cream for the tacos. Esmeralda, the owner, when called told me it was our fault that our guests used too much cheese and sour cream and rice and beans. There was never a back up or any additional food to be brought out. She never offered to take money off our agreed amount or compensate me in any way. The mother and son that were there cooking were very nice, but extremely slow as only one person did most of the work. At the time of booking, I had asked if we would need two grills for that amount of people and she told me one grill would be plenty. I had high expectations considering I've had their food before. I assumed the owner herself would be there but no, sent someone else in her place which she did not have a good attitude from the start. I spent so much money to have them cater and I would expect my order to be correct, for which my order was wrong and nothing was said to me about it. I had to see it for myself! I thought the meat would be cooked once they were set up but everything came pre cooked. All I wanted for my sons 1st birthday was some good quality tacos but I got just the opposite. PLEASE make sure you get your orders correct and DO NOT show up with something different than ordered. I was also not informed that guest were limited to how many tacos they can eat. Taquero got the guests raving about the food? Heck yes. Seriously folks, if you're planning a party in the summertime and want delicious stress-free food, hire a taco guy. We found Tacos for Any Event from a friend and Guillermo was very communicative and responsive. We booked him three months in advance first via phone and he thoroughly explained the payment and set up. The rest of communication was via text and a week before, the number of attendees were confirmed as was the menu. We were given meat options and selected asada, pollo, and al pastor. The side options were beans, rice, pico de gallo, salsa, cilantro, onions, and guacamole (for an extra fee). The day of my baby's party, the taco guy arrived an hour before the scheduled event and only requested a table to set up the sides and asked where we wanted his station to be located. He was super nice and organized and even brought plates and utensils! The meat is precooked for efficiency purposes and the grill used to reheat as is standard. Everything was ready half an our before our event even started! (Don't you hate coming to a party and food be late?!) The food was good (4/5) and guests loved it. We had no-shows and thus plenty of leftovers. We provided our own takeout containers and the taquero graciously packed all the remaining food up for us. Just as some reviews shared below, great customer service and food. Not only did he arrive early to set up and have everything lined out for the first guest, he only requested 1 table and did not need outlets; therefore being really flexible for a Halloween party with many 5-year-olds running around. All my guests shared how friendly he was whether they were asking for 6 tacos or one specific for their child's picky choice. I also had a few guests ask about his pricing and I shared it was very reasonable. We had plenty of leftovers that they allowed us to pack away in our own containers when it was time for them to leave. Such a disappointment! I have had previous taco bar/cart experience to cater events and with those past experiences the QUANTITY of food for the planned guest count was NEVER an issue. In fact, we always had a lot left over. Tacos for Any Event served for only 1 hour as the food went too quickly (they state that service is for max 2 hours). I was clear on the guest count at 45 guests and even had less guests with last min cancellations. STILL Esmeralda (who I was in contact with) did not send enough of the 3 meats selected to "cater" to my guests. Esmeralda, assume 5 tacos per guest min to plan out the amount of meat. The meat put on each tortilla was modest at best. Never have I experienced a taco cart/bar to not supply sufficient tacos for guests. I had several of my own side dishes (very hearty/filling salads and hearty appetizers to go with the taco cart. Thank Goodness). Seeing her staff eat tacos while working the propane plancha also did not agree with me (gross). I expected two hours of service which means food being prepared for the guests for two hours. In fact, the sides...lacking selection of jalapeños, radishes, cucumber slices, pickled carrots etc. to feel more authentic. I have not had a party in such a long time, and to my surprise the food was precooked, not like in years past, where they cook up fresh on the plancha and serve hot while on site. Thus, the food was lukewarm at best, so was the rice and the beans. I could have gone to the local Mexican Market and received more "tacos" for the price I was charged by Tacos for Any Event. They got a 2 star since they did arrive on time and Esmeralda was pretty good with prompt replies, but for my next event, I will search out another. I was very disappointed with the service that I got. After getting a quote I place a deposit to make sure was locked in, I was asked to give $20 more because she didn't realized it was out of town. I texted multiple times and would not get a reply back, they did not have any set up for themselves Food was supposed to be served from 3pm -530pm For 2 and a half hours of $600 dollars three choice meat toppings rice and beans. The cilantro looked dirty and slimy. The cook came all the meats were pre cooked he just warmed up the meat and cooked a lot of the tortillas before my guest were ready so by the time my guest were ready to eat the tortillas were cold he was just sitting down most of the time. But technical go down to Cardenas or your local Mexican store that sell everything he buys preñare, and literally just buy a propane gas grill down at big 5 sports for 80$ and bam .... you have tacos for any events for the rest of your life. read more

I hired Tacos For Any Event for my dad's birthday. Esmeralda was very easy to get a hold of and communicate with. She gave me information and food options via text and answered all my questions promptly. The food that she provided was very GOOD, especially the lengua!!! On the day of the party, Esmeralda's brother came to my house to set up and cook the food. He was super nice and very accommodating to my guests. The people we had to our event were husband & wife. We were told how much we had to pay for their services. Money was handed over to the husband ( of which he took, counted, left, no complaints) He was paid what we were told to pay plus tip. 15 minutes later his wife starts to complain we were short. We told her how much money was handed to her, she said "oh, sorry! Your right!" She leaves, husband already in the truck, comes back 15 min later. Stating we hadn't tipped her! I hired Tacos for any event for my parents 25th anniversary party after I read all the yelp reviews. I was excited to work with Esmeralda. She was easy to communicate with. The food was good and the price was ok. Here are the reasons why I didn't give her 5 stars. Esmeralda isn't the one who showed up to my party. I wasn't informed that she wasn't coming. When I asked her she told me it would be her and her husband. She had sent some other lady who didn't speak English. Which is hard because I don't speak Spanish. She got lost and couldn't find the venue. It was bit frustrating because I couldn't communicate with her. She tried to have her little boy communicate with my guest if any of them had any questions. Not only that I didn't get everything that was included in the price she quoted me. They didn't bring the guacamole and the drink I ordered which was the horchata. A bit upsetting.! Also I was told that she would supply all utensils and plates. She didn't bring any forks or spoons which I didn't think to buy for the party because she would supply them. Had to run to the store and buy some for the guest. Can't eat rice and beans with no fork. I had also booked her from 7 to 10 and once 8:30 she was already packing up all the stuff to leave and told me that she was leaving at 9. Which I told her no because I paid to have her stay until 10 or else I wasn't paying the full price. She told me that I needed to contact Esmeralda because that's not what she was told. She brought many toppings, salsas, rice, beans , and all utensils, including plates, napkins and forks. She cooked the tortillas on the spot and served everyone. I usually never write reviews but i really wanted to for this company. I used their services for my sons 2nd birthday party. They were wonderful, arrived about 40 minutes early to set up, they were very friendly, they stayed a great amount of time and best of all THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! The following day after my sons party i even was contacted to make sure i was satisfied with their services which is great. Noone gives courtesy calls anymore, at least not food companies. This is a mobile catering service. The food is unbelieveable - reminded me of the taco's I had while in Cabo at an authentic Mexican restaurant. I was recently at a party they catered & the lady will bring her cart (similar to a hotdog type of cart) with meats (carnitas, chicken or carne asada or bbq meat) so everything stays hot. She has the tortillas warm on the cart and her mexican rice is out of this world. The cart does not take up much room & you can enjoy your party without having to cook. I dream of these tacos. Worst job ever they were about 2 hours late to my event found hairs in the pico de gallo the food was all pre made so I wouldn't know if it was fresh or not they messed up on my order I didn't ask for carnitas and they gave me strawberry horchata that tasted like watered down milk when I asked for regular horchata and I asked for watermelon water they gave me melon .. I paid extra for quesdillas and he made them and had them sitting with just cheese I believe just fle that was extra 40 or 50 bucks it was a horrible experience after the guy getting there 2 hours late I still had to wait for someone else to bring the agua frescas was not worth my money at all but what was I to do leave my guests hungry .. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!! I don't know if some reviews are fake or if they got too popular from Yelp and now can't keep up but Esmeralda's quote was way cheaper than all other's. I've used taco truck's for parties before but I will never use this company again. I confirmed everything with her by text about 5 different times including day BEFORE. The time I asked her to start serving came & went--- she still hadn't arrived! I had a big party and was very stressed, when I called her no answer. I text and she says she was in traffic. LIE. She says do you still want me to come!?!?!?!? UMMMMMMMMM, I have 50 pp to feed- YES. Over an hour later two young girls show up with food already precooked (looks bought at local taqueria), they told me Esmeralda JUST CALLED THEM!!!! Esmeralda told me she would be there herself. I will pay extra next time for a company who is on time and cooks the meat fresh--- also other companies I have used we had leftovers FOR DAYS.
