My visit was midweek at around 11am. This place is a taco stand with a huge parking lot. I think of it as the Mexican food version of the Tommy's at Beverly. Coworkers at a location I was visiting praise this -including an Indian peer so its appeal is broader than many. Good basic food, no real seating, good take away food service, and urban street vibes. If you go later in day this place has to be crazy crowded on weekends if nothing else. I was the only light-skin person there at the time with all orders being done in Spanish. So evoking my "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" spirit - I ordered with my ver mid-Spanish and the server replied,"Do you want that to go?" Lol, the point is everybody should be able to get what they want there and that's good. Just be aware no seating I could see, very good portions on food - burrito looked as big as a two adult hands making a heart. Watch out for the red sauce. Green sauce was just right for me. During the day, easy parking on site. There is a well- done Kobe mural across the street. ** Be aware, I would not dismiss the comments about the area after dark. From what I could see, walking aimlessly is probably a better way to find trouble than most areas. .
Tacos La 26 is the father of all taco stands. There's no room to be dainty or squeamish here! Get in there and eat with your hands, lick the dripping sauce off your fingers, and stuff your face full of the good stuff like my favorite taco trifecta consisting of 1 Al Pastor, 1 Lengua, and 1 Pollo. Add a potato, lime, chili, radishes, onions, and some self-serve salsas on top and you've got taco heaven on earth. Don't forget to wash it down with a fresh made Jamaica or Horchata drink. Pro tip: Get lots of napkins and eat your food out of your trunk and tailgate it. There aren't any tables to eat at so this was the best way I've found to enjoy my food.
Damn! This spot was recommended to me by a born and raised Los Angelino as their number one taco spot and they weren't lying. Super simply menu, super simple dressings and salsas but everything is a flavor bomb! I'm not a big pickled onion fan but they will help cut the heat of the salsa. These tacos are fire and by fire I mean your mouth will be on fire while eating them. The staff is super helpful and super fast. I wish there were tables or standing tables to eat at but it's a parking lot, I get it.
soo good! parking is easy. you get to pick as much sides as you want! no tables or chairs to sit down and eat. good deal on the price! i got three tacos for less than $9

My daughter told me it's the affordability & Portions plus the fast service that makes it really popular. Is it true? They're open 24 seven? Tacos are priced around $2.25 to $2.50 each, offering generous meat portions that make it one of the more budget-friendly options downtown.They are not cheap on Toppings & Extras too. You can have as many grilled onions, cilantro, radishes, and various salsas you want including small, complimentary roasted potatoes. I ordered their tacos Of Al Pastor and Cabeza: The al pastor (pork) and cabeza (beef cheek) which are the best sellers. It's also a go-to late-night destination after bars or clubs. It is location in a parking lot so parking is not a problem. But there is no tables and chairs mind you so either you eat it to go or eat it standing. Price check service check flavor, check and extra additional free salsas and sides check. Highly recommend recommended.
Came here on a Saturday evening and didn't have to wait at all. I remember loving this place so much back when it was called Ave 26 tacos, however, this time around, my expectations were not met. This place is now in a parking lot and honestly, it was sort of confusing on where everything was at. For example, I asked one of the staffs where the potatoes were at and she said she wasn't sure. Anyways, I ended up getting their lengua and carne asada and honestly both of them tasted really dry and old. Not sure if it was because they made it too early and I did come prior to their peak hours or what. Parking wise, I see people parking inside the parking lot as to where it was at. Not sure if you can park there but I just opted to park on the streets to be safe. Although, since it is LA, I also didn't feel quite safe walking back to my car. Otherwise, the price did spike from $1.50 to now $2.25 each.
24:7 operation, low cost food options, fire drinks, got tacos burritos quesadillas and more. A self serve bar for the salsas and such. Decent parking lot with 1 hour parking. Only complaint is no tables to eat so I had to use my car trunk but worth a try still. This is what LA is aha random taco pop ups that are 24/7 in sketchy parking lots in sketchy areas of downtown. Still highly recommend it though!
At $2.50 a taco and a superb grilled onions you can't go wrong. If you want a quick and delicious meal, skip the chipotle and go to a real LA style taco. The Al Pastor is my favorite. There are other more exotic meats if that is your thing but I stick to the chicken beef and pork parking is ultra convenient and service is quick. They also have burritos and quesadillas that are perfect to take home.
There is not a lot to write other than the tacos are delicious and you need to come here like asap! They are open 24/7, they do take card but cash is preferable. You make the line and get your tacos. The parking depending wha time you come can be very busy. There is not a seating area, gotta take them to go or go eat in your car. These are some bomb AF tacos!
Heck yes! One of the best street tacos! The free parking is definitely a plus here. It is outdoor with no place to sit but grab your tacos and sit in your car to enjoy. The staff are working hard and are bilingual. We were encouraged to order pork but the chicken and beef were so great! I love the extra toppings of cilantro, onion, and salsa on the side. They also had small cooked yellow potatoes as a side also, one free per person. I also ordered a horchata to wash it all down and it was excellent. They do accept cash and card here! Definitely a late night spot, so be careful and alert!

Avenue 26 tacos is nostalgic and consistent every time. Street tacos are ordered on the left side and quesadillas on the right side (separate lines). My favorite meats are Al Pastor, Cabeza, and Asada. This is definitely a good spot to go to after an event at Crypto arena or if you're hanging around Arts District/Little Tokyo. Last Tuesday our order of 7 tacos came out to $15.25 in cash ($2.17 per). Keep in mind the cost is different if you pay in cash vs credit card. Also quick tip: parking for paying customers is limited to one hour.
This spot was recommendation to me and I was excited to finally experience it for myself. I was treated to tacos and I chose cabesa and one carne asada. They had an extremely organized set up. They host all of dtlA but also dodger fans after a game. They offer complementary baby potatoes that look to have been boiled. This was a nice surprise and an unexpected add. They offer aguas galore and all the fixins...cilantro, onions, radishes, limes, Chiles and avacado salsa. All for the mere price of $2.25 a taco. They are located in a open parking lot across from xlanes in dtla.

Pretty sure this was the OG Ave 26 but it's been rebranded! The tacos still hit and they still give free onion and potatoes! The meat is a little different. Maybe it's the inconsistency but the Al Pastor was not as charred. Still a classic, open late night, and in downtown and there's additional free parking across the street read more
I can't believe this taco spot has been right in the Little Tokyo Galleria parking lot! We stopped by after KCON and it was such a fun late-night find. We tried the tacos and mulitas. The mulitas were especially good! I also loved the self-serve area with different salsas, onions, cilantro, and toppings so you can add as much as you want. Just a heads-up -- all the salsas were pretty spicy! My kids couldn't handle any of them. The tacos and mulitas are ordered and paid for at separate stations. Cash is definitely easier since there's a 3% fee for card payments. The taco meat was a little dry when we went, but maybe it was because we stopped by pretty late. Other than that, everything was delicious and we had so much fun! It was packed even late at night -- for a second, I felt like I was back in Korea! But even with all the people, the lines moved surprisingly fast. And they're OPEN 24 HOURS!! Definitely a great late-night food stop in LA. read more

5 stars for the street food category. Every time we're in LA, we make it a point to stop by this place. They have good and simple street tacos. They operate out of a parking lot, which has plenty of parking. They don't have tables for dining, so this is perfect for to-go, car dining, or tailgating. They mainly focus on tacos, since the last time I've been, they've added burritos. Considering the limited number of fixings, I stuck with the tacos. The line moves quickly. With only four meats on the menu (carne asada, grilled chicken, carnitas, and al pastor) the only decision is how many tacos to order. Honey and I got 8 tacos for $18 cash. I assume they have a card/ digital payment premium. Once you pay, you can add as much onions, cilantro, and salsa as you like. I would definitely recommend this spot if your in downtown LA. read more

My friends and I were driving back from an event we attended and we happened to stop by here for dinner. From the amount of people eating in the parking lot, I could tell this place must be good. We walked up and ordered our food. The servers were polite, extremely efficient, and had our food prepared within seconds. After paying, we were ushered over to the sauce/salsa bar and veggie bar. The place is located in a parking lot so the weather does affect the comfort but the food can always be eaten in the car. The tacos were pretty darn good! The meat had a smoked flavor with plenty of spices. They had an assortment of optional menu choices if tacos aren't your craving. The ambiance is dependent on who is there but overall the experience was excellent. read more
mmmm these tacos are SOOOO good icl. first off we got the car inside of tacos. They are about two dollars each and they are so amazing. The service was instantaneous and super quick. We got free potatoes, which were super moist and tasty. The only thing I can say is that the sauces are so spicy. Like my mouth was absolutely burning. The ambience was super chill and like I said it was super fast to get the food and check out. Everything is low-key self-serve in terms of sauces and toppings. So it was super quick and yummy. read more

Solid street tacos, open late with plenty of parking. I like to get cabeza, al pastor, suadero & asada. Don't forget the grilled onions! I personally like to put a little of all 3 salsas and eat a slice of radish with every bite to give a fresh crunchiness to balance the heaviness of the meat. Can always count on avenue 26! read more

My friend recommended a late night food spot for tacos. We were open to checking out his food recommendation. We then made our way by walking towards the food spot. My friend took all of us to a food spot called Tacos LA 26. We walked into the parking lot area and arrived. We saw a lot of customers. Tacos LA 26 had an organized structured setting. There were three areas I noticed when we arrived. The first area we encountered was the area to order food. The second area had an area with a variety of condiments to put on the tacos. Lastly, there was an area to sit on tables and eat the food. The staff members were friendly and the service was quick. I ordered lengua, asada, and pastor tacos. I put my condiments on top. I ended up standing up with my friends and eating my tacos. The tacos tasted amazing and were nicely seasoned. I enjoyed how tender and soft the meats were and tortillas were the best I have ever had. I really enjoyed and loved the tacos I ordered. read more

Great spot to stop by after a concert or just in general. Lots of different delicious taco options to choice from. Service is fast w/ a taco salsa bar. Nice atmosphere to grab food ,eat on top of your car, and chill w/ friends. read more
A friend from LA recommended this spot and I'm so glad they did. Tacos LA 26 is a no-frills, parking lot setup in Little Tokyo with a few tents serving up tacos, quesadillas and burritos. It's simple, fast delicious and inexpensive...everything you want from a good taco stand. The tacos were packed with flavor and easily some of the best street tacos I've had. They also offer drinks like horchata and they accept credit cards. There's no seating, so plan to eat in or on car or take it to go. A solid place for a quick, satisfying bite. read more
