So a bit of a funny story. I came looking for Mariscos Jalisco having had my sights on it since I watched the Jonathan Gold documentary shortly after moving to LA. I had the address on my car navigation but as I drove up to the block I noticed the 4 Vientos truck and wrongly assumed this was Jalisco. So I turned it and promptly ordered at the truck. I did briefly question why the signage was different but the long queues and the delicious looking morsels that everyone around me were eating made me assume once again that I was at the right place. In my ignorance, I did not know that this entire stretch of Olympic Blvd was home to many such mariscos and taco trucks. In any case, I ordered. I ate. I was plenty satisfied and more than impressed and it wasn't until after I got home and did more research that I realized I was at the 4 Vientos truck. Well, no harm done. It just meant I needed to go back for the Jalisco truck very soon. Fresh seafood! Excellent tostadas. You can't go wrong! read more

The tacos dorados de mariscos I had here were pretty good! The crunchy taco shell was filled with mixed seafood which was yummy. The avocado and salsa on top also added creaminess and freshness. It wasn't as flavorful compared to a similar taco from the nearby Mariscos Jalisco, but I did enjoy the raw seafood and fresh flavors. The spot is a food truck with no areas to sit (not sure of there was). Cash only I believe as well. A great spot, but I think I would still opt for Mariscos Jalisco. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this spot near DTLA they have two spots pretty close to each other so that was my first tell that this place is GEWD. My friend had the tacos she really enjoyed them. I had the tostada and it was really fresh! I squeezed my obscene amount of lime and it HIT THE SPOT! The restaurant is rather small they have a taco truck outside. Very limited parking on site. Lots to choose from on the menu. I'll have to come back to try the AGUASCHILES yummmm. Speedy service. Very nice wait staff and as we sat we noticed how busy it started to get, tables filled up fast. We tried this restaurant on recommendation from a coworker. There's a food truck outside if you prefer not to wait for a table. There's limited seating. My favorite spot for shrimp tacos and shrimp cocktails! I've tried many places, but nothing beats the flavor here. Everything always tastes fresh. The shrimp cocktail comes with tostadas and saltine crackers and is loaded with shrimp. I had two shrimp tacos and a shrimp cocktail and it filled me up. The sauce is very spicy but super addicting. They have an indoor restaurant and a food truck outside, but I've only ordered from the truck so far. There's almost always a line, but it moves quickly and service is fast. The best mariscos place I've been to so far. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The shrimp dorado is crispy still when I got it. Even after they pour the sauce on top. First off I have to admit that I was trying to go to the other Mariscos down the street and didn't even pay attention to the name (past the "Mariscos" part) and ended up here. Well, with that said, the food was delicious and fresh! I was craving Mexican seafood before we headed to the Lakers game and this place hit the spot. My sister in law and I ordered La Toxica to share and we both ordered a taco dorado and a fish taco. FISH TACO IS HUGE!!! Taco dorado is BOMB!!! The filling inside the taco dorado is something I've never tasted and I'm a foodie. The Toxica comes with Ceviche de pescado and shrimp, a la diabla agua chiles and the standard green agua chiles. On top it is served with mixto of shrimp and octopus. Her and I couldn't finish it because we had our tacos before hand. Ask for the salsa de árbol, it doesn't hit ypu at first but 3rd bite in you start to feel it. We also ordered the choco flan and the cheesecake flan which btw TASTES SO MUCH BETTER IF LEFT OUT IN ROOM TEMPERATURE, brings out the chocolate better, they were so YUMMY!!! They don't serve alcoholic beverages but do offer soda in a bottle and can, along with their agua frescas. Holy moly!! Their taco dorados are no joke and worth all the hype we've seen on TikTok. I came to check this spot out on a Sunday afternoon and business was busy! We saw people waiting outside for restaurant seating, people waiting for the food trucks also connected to the restaurant, and some people enjoying food right outside the restaurant. Of course I came to try the tacos dorados de camaron and they were absolutely delicious. We ordered 4 and total came out to a flat $13 (be wary that it's cash only). Price is not bad for the amount of filling in the tacos, salsa on the side that they give very generous servings of in to-go cups, and avocado! We asked for the toppings on the side so the tacos could stay extra crispy. Overall, 10/10 experience, the crunch, shrimp filling, salsa, and avocado were the perfect combo. I came here to try the shrimp taco. The shrimp tacos are not bad, but not stellar. The fried tortilla has an amazing crunch and flavor, but the filling leaves you wanting move. The filling is charred and seems overcooked...you only taste hints of the seafood. I know they have amazing seafood...the shrimp tacos just fall short. Staff is amazing and the atmosphere is great. i stopped by here because it's as popular as mariscos jalisco and honestly, with the hype, i was expecting some amazing tacos de camaron and aguachile verda the tacos de camaron were almost exactly the same, pretty good, but i was excited to try something else on the menu. i ordered the aguachile verde and got handed a regular ceviche instead. i was incredibly disappointed. not only did i not get the right order, but the ceviche was subpar. the tostada was yummy, yes, but the ceviche was so standard that it honestly might've been one of the worst i've had for a long time. i've had ceviche a lot. like probably once a week. mariscos is one of my favorite foods ever, whether it's green, black, red, with mango, with fish, with octopus, avocado, or just as is. this wasn't even tangy, it was watery and the meat was limp. for almost 9 dollars, you get a small solo cup and 3 tostadas and the cup was only good enough for 1.5 tostadas....... i might stick with mariscos jalisco. i went to 2 different locations and they did not mess up with my order at all. it tasted great at both, exactly the same. i heard that mariscos jalisco is the OG. do i give the cute shop another try? maybe sit down instead of the food truck? let me know. read more

BEWARE:they have huge operational and customer service problem that needs to be fixed. Here writing this review, while waiting for my food after - 40 minutes wait. When we arrived the lady at the register said that the table wait was 30 mins and to order take out it would be 20 mins. So we decided take out order, then we notice the table service was faster so we asked if we could sit down and they said we couldn't. We were rushed outside to wait for food, 35 mins in, they call my name and told me wait on the side while my food was being packed up. The shrimp tacos here hold up a bit better than Mariscos Jalisco, the shrimp inside the taco contains less potato and more shrimp. It's also a bit wetter in my opinion. Bathroom was pretty clean, keep your order slip in case you're asked for it to go inside. They were pretty casual about it. Ambience is busy! Jalisco-style mariscos shop located on Olympic in Boyle Heights. An area where there are some of the best taco/ Mexican food spots in the city. CASH ONLY if I recall correctly. I found parking along the street/ alley behind so I entered in through the restaurant. I asked to order to go because it was pretty packed and I think people were waiting for a table (and forgot there was a truck out front where basically all orders are take out orders). The person helping me was so friendly and helpful. I ordered both the taco dorado de camaron and the Poseido - essentially the taco dorado de camaron topped with a hearty serving of aguachile rojo (usually made with shrimp and octopus, but I asked them to make mine without any octopus due to me not eating octopus anymore). I got them fresh to go and ate them as soon as I got to my car. Both were very delicious. Loved the crunch on both and the Poseido had such a nice contrast of textures. The packaging was neat and it looked like it was a lot of trouble which made me feel guilty for not just eating the food in house. This place is an LA classic and has been around for a reason - great mariscos at a more than reasonable price. I'm a huge fan. read more

4Vientos had a 1$ taco Tuesday this past week and everybody and they momma was there! I arrived 30mins before opening and it was a two hour wait. I believe this is a testament to how valued this business is. they offered us agua frescas for the wait, they are consistent with quality, reliable and offer some of the best Mariscos in the city. Got these from uber eats and enjoyed them. I think they would be way better fresh, but to say I had them while they were a little cold they were good. The absolute star of the show was the fresh pico/salsa. It carried most of the flavor, and it had a kick to it. Tasted super fresh. I think about it often! I went to the taco truck to order the famous shrimp tacos and fish tacos, but they didn't have fish. They also only take cash, so when I went inside for the ATM, I asked if I could do to-go, and I got the fish and shrimp tacos inside the restaurant. The avocado and salsa slaw were good, but the shrimp tacos lacked flavor and didn't have much shrimp in them. They weren't my favorite. It's a quick grab and go and the lines move quick. Every time a friend or family that doesn't come up to LA too often, I would take them here because it's not a spot someone would typically just look up to hit a food truck. I was actually planning to go to the better shrimp taco truck down the street. I only realized I was at the wrong truck when I asked for hot sauce and they told me it would $.50 per hot sauce. I took a step back to read the name and instantly regretted having paid and even leaving tip.
