Looked good online. Pulled off I-10 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Only 1 in parking lot. Lady at counter didn't seem to know a lot about the menu. She had to look at the tiny pictures on the menu to tell us what came on the plates. Didn't know the difference between their migas and chilaquilles. Cute and festive inside. She asked if I wanted flour or corn tortillas, but they are not homemade. Why??? I said flour - but they didn't even provide any tortillas when the food was ready. When I asked about it, she said that my plate doesn't come with tortillas. Plate game out with cheese on beans, not on the eggs as I asked. No avocado as she said it would have. When I asked about that, they gave me the tiniest little thing with avocado. I asked for some potatoes or fried potatoes with my plate. They gave me french fries. Food came on Mexican pottery type plate. But it was chipped and food was on top where there was g any glaze left. There was loud banging coming from the kitchen that was annoying. They said they were chopping up meat. They didn't have coffee at 10am on a Saturday. Coffee maker broke.... Really? Why not run down to Wal Mart and get one. It was very cold inside on top of all the other issues. I really regret giving this place a chance - based on the pics on Yelp. Ugh read more

La bamba aka Bamba has the best tacos in town. Do not be alarmed by the exterior, this place is great.

My tacos were cold but I also ordered a plate of asada and it was delicious! This place is very low-key. Don't go expecting to find a fancy restaurant and don't make the same mistake as me YOU ORDER AT THE COUNTER. The people who work there are very nice and humble. Mmmmmm man tasty! I ordered tacos and beans & rice and everything tasted amazing and authentic. I just wish I'd known how small they were because I would have ordered more. Best authentic Mexican food that exists in this area!!!! If you have not tried it then do yourself a favor and do try it. You will be addicted. The ceviche is the best I have ever had. Very very good food! Kind of self service since you have to order food up front and pick up food but the quality is definitely worth it. We got 20 mini tacos for $20 and they were very delicious. My favorite was the sopes we ordered. Overall we loved it. read more

This was the first restaurant I came to, after I moved back to Beaumont. I find that I keep coming back because of the great tasting and cheap food. It does take them a little too long to get your food out to you, and parking can be a real hassle, but these are minor quibbles when the food is so good. I could eat their tacos every day, and I particularly love their green sauce. I put it on almost everything I order here. read more

If you're from So Cal..no Mexican restaurant in Beaumont, Texas is going to be comparable to any taqueria you've been spoiled to. Tacos La Bamba sure does come close though..no "gravy" like all the rest of the crappy tex-mex restaurants out here & they actually serve ceviche! Sure do wish they'd adopt Carne Asada burritos to their menu! read more

Wow! Tacos La Bamba was fantastic, authentic Mexican food! I can't wait to go back and try something different, the entire menu looked appetizing. My boyfriend and I decided to try it based on high recommendations and excellent online reviews. We had the mojarra and pastor platos! We had plenty left to take home as they give you very generous portions! I tried a chico corn in a cup, devoured it and ordered a grande one to go! Mmmmm...Mmmm. Best tacos in Beaumont period. By go best authentic Mexico food in Beaumont. Not much to look at inside or out and you order up front but as far as value for for money it is hard to beat. Buttitos are pretty good too, and huge. Don't forget first Thursday of every month is dollar taco night! read more

Is this place a bit unusual when you walk in the door? Yes. Should you stay and eat? DEFINITELY. We rank it in the top 5 taco places we've been in Texas...and we eat a lot of tacos.
