Came in today for the breakfast buffet but i was not impressed at all. The food looked like it had been sitting there since they opened at 8am, i came in at 10am so i just ended up getting a torta de milanesa and my husband got tacos de al pastor which both were really good. Small little shop in a shopping center, we decided to check it out. WHOA, IT IS AWESOME! In upland there aren't too many good Mexican spots but look no further. Their beef birria is so tender, juicy & delicious. I have never liked papa tacos but gave them a shot here and I'm obsessed. The papa taco comes with sour cream, cabbage & cotija cheese, I add their green salsa and sliced avocados, you will be so happy you tried these!!!! The first time I went I talked to the lady getting my order together about being excited to try the tacos toreados and she offered me a different hot sauce and was just REALLY nice. Wow what a hidden gem! Came here yesterday morning for some Mexican Food and boy was I not disappointed. For the longest time I have always been skeptical about eating Mexican Food outside of LA. I loved how some of the cheese on the edges were semi crisp/burnt. The Birria was a winner for me. The original way Birria is made is by using Goats meat. However the Beef will do here. The meat was super soft, tender and moist. The consume they give you was also really. A side of tortillas was unnecessary in my opinion. The only thing I wished was that I wished everything was just a tad spicier. Other than that the dish was really good. We recently discovered this establishment post COVID-19 and we are so happy we did. We order and pay online and pick up inside the restaurant without any problems. We have tried the fish, carne asada, chicken and carnitas tacos. The tortillas are homemade and so delicious! They have the tastiest fish tacos I've tasted in the area. Remember driving by this place a couple of times and decided to come today... we had 3 carne asada tacos, 5 Al pastor tacos and a chicken quesadilla for our child... ALL were hella good. Green sauce on point, the red sauce will make you grow hair in places you don't want it but really damn good... there's an outside spot with a tv to eat at... workers are hella nice. I saw that a local Yelper got Review of the day for her review here and my BF was also recommended Tacos Los Carnales ages ago. We just haven't had the time to make it out and randomly last week, I had the craving so I bugged my BF that we go there and I pay for dinner. We get there and it was semi-busy. There were a few families inside enjoying their food. We looked over their menu and decided to try a small size of their Carnales fries and tried their birria, pastor, and asada tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed their birria. The flavor and texture was there for us. The asada was okay and the pastor was good. For the 6 tacos and fries the grand total was $26.39. Kind of pricey but at the same time, for the quality of the food and service it's worth it. Additionally, they have very good salsas and pinto beans which are all complimentary. It's even MORE worth it if you stop in on Taco Tuesday. I just went this past Tuesday and after we walked in there was a sizable amount of people coming in for the deal. Their food is pretty good but when you call in an order at 7:30 and let them know you're going to be 40 mins till pick up, you get there at 8:20 and still have to wait another 20 mins.... Don't bother ordering on the phone or online..... they never have your order ready when you get there. Update: was going to still give 2 stars but I get home and guess what, one plate from my $70 order... is missing. I call and I can't even get a refund over the phone so I'm forced to go and pick up the missing food. Very frustrating.... One more update: get there to pick up my missing order and it felt like I was a burden.... Not a single apology when I got there. Went on Taco Tuesday/Cinco de Mayo. There was about 7 people ahead of us. Placed our order & waited outside. 30 min past and we noticed only a few of the people ahead of us had left. Went inside to check after about 40 min. We think they lost the ticket. They offered us a free bottled beverage of choice. After another 20 min, I'm guessing the manager/owner came out front he counter and offered us our money back or to come back the next day. We said we just wanted our food, after an hour waiting, we didn't want to go somewhere else and have to wait again. We handed him our receipt and withen 5 min we had all our food. First time trying this place on Route 66, it borders Rancho Cucamonga / Montclair. It has been open for about 6 months. I tried the carnitas burrito with 2 scrambled eggs. I very rare order "carnitas" but I wasn't disappointed. The rice, beans, combination with the meat and eggs were perfect. I tried the green and red salsa and it was full of real Chile salsa. PRICEY This is a good mexican place. There's not that many authentic restaurants in upland. The only thing that kinda sucks is that in the last year they have raised their prices way too much. Their nachos, fries, burritos for example have raised their prices at least 4 dollars. Their tacos aren't that great they need more flavor. This is our go to for Taco Tuesdays. They deliver to local families in Upland. Their tray of tacos is enough for 2 families to share. All of their taco trays come with beans, cilantro, onions, and chips. Their salsa is a tad on the spicy side. They have good customer service. When they have made a mistake on our order, they have sent a replacement as soon as they could. They have very kind workers who do their best to customize orders when needed.
