I'm going to seriously consider any/all previous Mexican 5 star reviews I've submitted in the past. I may have been too generous. Tacos Mi Nacho has earned that level. Stopped in for a quick bite for a Saturday lunch, and now (between this experience and the local pizza scene) am considering moving to the area. Absolutely amazing. A must go.

Without question, Tacos Mi Nacho is my favorite place for casual Mexican food. Everything is fresh and flavorful. I love their guacamole, tacos, and tres leches cake. My husband loves their burritos. The decor is cute and the service is friendly. Beyond that, the prices are good and the quality is consistent. I will never turn down a trip to Tacos Mi Nacho. Highly recommend!!

the BEST Birria tacos and mexican cuisine in the area. Everything is very reasonably priced, including drinks, and you really get your moneys worth! Everything I've had is always really fresh and so authentic (i could eat here everyday). You can dine-in and enjoy the ambiance or take it to go! Either way, the service is impeccable and I'm so happy to have found this place.

Good, cheap, tacos and nachos. In the area for another soccer tournament, came here afterwards to get some tacos and nachos. Place is fairly large, good amount of seating. Staff was not use to non-locals coming in, a promising sign. I get the nachos and girlfriend gets the tacos. Food came out quickly, which was good cause we were both pretty hungry. In terms of food quality, it's good but not great. It's kind of basic and lacking spice. The meats were cooked in advance and kept warm, so the steak and chicken were a little dry. Everything was lacking salt or sauce, which thankfully they provide a large container of hot sauce to douse your food in. The chips were from a bag, the tamale was lacking pork but the masa was flavored, there was a lack of cheese to the nachos, and the tacos were balanced with good toppings but the meat was dry. The price was very cheap though. Everything came out to 20 dollars, which is not bad for 4 a la carte tacos, a tamale, and some nachos. If you're local, this place will scratch that taco itch. If you're strapped for cash, this place can feed you on the cheap. If you're traveling, I can think of better tacos to get.

I was in Meriden because my son's tablet needed screen repair and I heard great things about a place nearby. I found tacos mi macho on Yelp and decided to try something new for my weekly taco Tuesday routine. The space is very nice. The parking lot is huge. The wait staff is very friendly and welcoming. The prices are great. I love that they have complimentary chips with three salsas. Of the tacos I tried the steak were my favorite. My one critique is that I ordered them with everything and they didn't come with additional salsa. I just used the salsas I had remaining from my chips. I ate alone but it was a very welcoming atmosphere. The music selection was great. I would visit again to try some other menu options. If I lived closer this seems like a place to become a regular at.

    Nice atmosphere

Just because it looks like a Mexican Cantina and has the word 'Taco' in the name does not mean they serve authentic Mexican Food. This is Connecticut after all. The atmosphere and ambience was right. The wait staff were warm and friendly. But the 'Tacos' were not Tacos, more like shredded lettuce, with one slice of tomato, with some shredded cheese, and some unseasoned chicken wrapped in a soft shell tortilla. I had four 'tacos' they tasted like saw dust and were so small I felt like I ate one and a quarter taco.

Mexican food is one of my favorites and I am an unabashed snob. Since moving back to CT I have struggled to find good Mexican, and it looks like La Catrina May have answered the call! Recently had dinner with our neighbors, one of which has a litany of food restrictions. I was nervous that there wouldn't be much for her to eat when they agreed to try La Catrina with my wife and I, but I was wrong. Our waitress was very patient and helpful in directing our friend to a number of dishes that would be ok for her to eat. The kitchen was also very accommodating in tailoring her food to ensure her needs were met making her meal and experience all the more enjoyable. As for me, I dove right in and started off with some guacamole which was fresh, creamy, and very enjoyable. I then moved on to a bowl of pozole which was very authentic w/ hominy and a very nice broth. For my main course, I went with the Barbacoa Des Rey. Very good and again authentic. Served with rice and beans with a side of fresh corn tortillas. Finished the night w/ Dulce de Leche and an order of Churros. The Churros were enjoyable, however, the Dulce de Leche was a show stopper. Huge portion and extremely decadent. One of the better that I have had. While I do not drink, my wife and neighbors ordered some of La Catrinas signature cocktails and were extremely happy with them. There is a large bar and the restaurant has weekly entertainment to give the restaurant a night life vibe. We really enjoyed our dining experience at La Catrina. The food was authentic Mexican and excellent. Drinks were solid and desserts were a big hit. Service was outstanding. Looking forward to coming back to our New Mexican go-to so I can dive deeper into the menu that includes the regional dishes I have come to love from my time in Cali and Mexico. Especially looking forward to the Cochinita Pibil. If you are in the Southington area and looking to experience authentic Mexican, La Catrina is the place to be! Side note: My wife wanted me to mention how much she loved the enchiladas mole!

From the moment we walked in, the place was spotless, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. The meal started with warm, crispy chips and fresh salsa that had just the right amount of kick. Then came the horchata, and honestly, it might be the best I've had anywhere. Smooth, refreshing, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet. For the main event, we ordered a variety of tacos including the al pastor, chorizo, and lengua. Each one brought something different to the table, but all of them shared the same thing: incredible flavor and quality ingredients. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and served on tortillas that tasted fresh and authentic. What really surprised me was the cemita. If you've never had one before, this is the place to try it. The bread was soft on the inside with the perfect texture on the outside, loaded with fresh ingredients and flavor in every bite. It was one of those menu items that immediately makes you start planning what you'll order on your next visit. And then there was dessert. The custard-filled churros with cinnamon sugar paired with chocolate ice cream were phenomenal. Warm, sweet, crunchy, creamy--everything you want in a dessert and then some. What stands out most about Hashtag Tacos isn't just the food. It's the consistency, attention to detail, cleanliness, and hospitality. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in what they do, and it shows in every part of the experience. There are plenty of places that serve tacos. Hashtag Tacos serves food that makes you want to bring your friends back so they can experience it too. This isn't a five-star review because everything was perfect. The owners are so friendly and very helpful if you have menu questions. They prepare the food very quick too. The restaurant is small, but they have a handful of tables and booths if you want to eat in. Most of the items are sold separately ($3-6 each) so you can try a few things. They have tacos (obviously), burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, speciality dishes and they started serving breakfast. Our favorite is the Shrimp Taco. On our last visit we got four! Perfectly fried, crispy shrimp topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado slice and served with lime. We also tried the Chicken Taco, Chicken Tostada, and Carne Asada Tostada. We don't live too far from Hashtag Tacos so our food was still warm. Everything was good and super fresh. They are generous with their taco toppings and filling. The tortillas are homemade and fluffy. The avocados were perfectly ripe. I like their verde salsa the best, but they have a unique, bright orange salsa that has a little kick. We hope to dine in at Hashtag Tacos very soon--if we think takeout is great, the food served hot and fresh at the restaurant has to be even better.
