The food is SO good! We ate Asada burrito & carnitas burrito, two days in a row. We love the size and value of the kids burritos, too! A must try!

I've known about this place for a while, but hadn't made the trip over. Well, that changed yesterday when I had a craving for a burrito. I have a couple of go-to spots in town, but you can never have too many burrito spots! There were several people waiting and one ordering when I arrived. The menu is pretty straight forward, so I made a quick selection and ordered at the window. I was glad to see they accept credit cards (I thought they were cash only at one point). The guy at the window was very courteous and the food came out quickly. I ordered the Burrito Linda Adovada. The burrito was pretty large, filling the entire lower portion of the to-go container. This was a fork-and-knife-er for sure! The burrito had a great flavor and the fresh pico and lettuce provided a balance to the savory adovada. While the adovada was pretty tasty, it definitely had a different texture than I was expecting. The grilled onions were a nice addition also. While not my favorite burrito in town, this will certainly go in the rounds. I will be back and try the tacos soon!

3.5* I was looking forward to trying this spot with the stellar reviews but found it to be decent only. I came here and ordered many tacos and a burrito covered in sauce. Food: -chicken is stewed and appears to be breast meat, adobada doesn't look or taste like it's placed on a flattop grill. Carnitas and carne asada were decent. -sauce on the burrito is a bit strong for my liking. Was informed it's sour cream based and tasted like chipotle. Was hoping for enchilada style sauce. Conclusion: pretty much I like my meat grilled a bit and they don't do that here. Tortillas aren't memorable. I'd skip the "enchilada" sauce. Salsas are pretty good though. I'd prob come by if I was hungry and it was near but not go out of my way.

Best tacos in Bend? Maybe - they're certainly in the running. Preferences vary in that regard with some people insisting on 'authentic', whatever that means. I judge strictly by what's on my plate so I can and do enjoy a wide variety of local taco styles (Here, El Sancho, Worthy Taps and Tacos, El Buen Zason del Mago, Rodolberto's, etc). Tacos Pihuamo, of course, offers more than just tacos. - Taco combo plate: three tacos with choice of meat, beans, rice, avocado/radish salad. While the beans and rice are not particularly exceptional, I like both well enough to make the entire combo a nice lunch plate. These tacos are double-tortilla, fairly plump and very good. Love the small bit of grilled onion that comes on the plate. - Enchilada combo plate: same deal as the taco plate. You get three enchiladas, which is a big lunch for me. The enchiladas (I order chicken) are quite good but maybe not up to the lofty standard set by the tacos. The red sauce is a bit too creamy for my taste. - Hot sauces: there are four squeeze bottles set out on the tables in an ice bucket and they are some of the best you'll find anywhere. - Quick. Place your order at the window and within a few minutes you'll have your food. Super nice folks inside the truck. - Nice shaded tables for dining in. Most patrons are here on their lunch break so the turnover is rapid. I've not had a problem getting a seat. - Shared parking lot with the other businesses. Recommended

This is a food truck. I love me some food trucks. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. We ordered up a pork in red sauce torta, chicken burrito, shredded beef burrito, bean, cheese and rice burrito, a chicken taco and a pork in red sauce taco. All were good, no complaints here. The taco's are small but full of flavor (what do you expect for $1.75)? The torta, although a little soggy once I got home, was fantastic. Note to self, eat the torta there. The burritos were tasty and well sized for $6. The sauces were good. Customer service? This is a food truck, not a fine dining establishment. Walk up, place your order and enjoy some damn tasty Mexican food. read more

Hands down the best tacos in bend. This is like one of those food trucks (this one is a trailer) that you might find in LA. Might be the most legit food truck that I've ever seen. Large, tented, outdoor seating area, dedicated parking area, they take credit cards via square. The food selection is impressive. They had birria, which I've never seen in a food truck! They also had lengua! In addition, they had the pork in red sauce, which I've never even heard of. I tried that, in a burrito, for $6, and it was amazing. I could eat here every day. read more

I've driven past many times and read the reviews online, yet somehow had never pulled over to try Pihaumo. Today that changed, and boy am I kicking myself that I didn't try it earlier. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were SO GOOD. I've struggled to find a consistently good taco spot since moving to Bend last year and I have found the one! The spicy salsa is delicious and very flavorful without too much overpowering heat. I'm excited to go back to try their other offerings and salsas! Wow, awesome tacos!! Had the taco platter that comes with 3 tacos (your choice of meat) and rice and beans for $11. What a deal! Price might vary on meat, but between my husband and I we got the carne asada, carnitas, and birra. The meats were not dry and not greasy. Sauces were really good as well, green, red, and guacamole. There are a few tables next to the truck under a pop up tent to eat there. read more

Holy WOW! I'm a taco truck aficionado......so when Bend was the destination city, I relied on Yelp to steer me right! I've sampled trucks in pretty much every place I get to....in the search for the very best. This place does NOT disappoint! Due to the incredibly reasonable prices, I skipped the pedestrian tacos and drove straight into the Carne Asada Plate: This included EIGHT delicious corn tortillas, a grilled jalapeño, some delicious adobada onions, and two wafer-thin skirt steaks......all garnished with super fresca salsa, half an avocado, and radish wafers. UTTERLY SPECTACULAR! Oh, and did I forget to mention the delicious salsa verde, verde/avocado, habanero, and red sauces? Yeah.....all handmade and in big bowls of icewater...... The ambience? It's pure Bend "main drag"......but not even the rattle of Ford diesel trucks and the roar of of Subarus clad with studded tires can detract from the pure goodness of this place! I'll ABSOLUTELY make this a destination! read more

Best Mexican food in Bend! We lived in Arizona for 30 years where Mexican food is as common as a cactus in the desert. Tacos Pihuamo is as good as any place in AZ. Good customer service also. Highly recommend!! read more

Possibly the most authentic Mexican food in Bend and without the Bend prices. $10-$12 will put you in a food coma or leave yourself enough for a leftover snack. For the same 'value' at other shops you can get three tacos with no sides that will leave you wanting more or opening up the wallet for round two. Love the food truck and hope they don't change their model if and when they expand! read more

5+ Stars for the tacos but wasn't keen on the enchiladas or rice and beans! I ordered chicken and pork tacos, combo plate. These tacos were amazing, flavors kept coming. I tried the enchiladas and would give those 3 stars, not much flavor. Will stick with the tacos. Their beans and rice are average.. put some taco love in your beans and rice, please! ... if they could combine their tacos with the beans/rice/side salad from El Sancho, I'd be in taco combo plate heaven! Staff is nice and friendly, always get a smile here; place is very clean. As a side note, I moved from Bay Area and never found tacos this tasty there. And these are better than a great taco stand I found in San Jose del Cabo that were delicious and held the crown until I ate Pihuamo's Tacos. read more

It has taken me a while to write this review, and I have spent almost every day since my visit in June wanting to make a road trip to Bend to have their tacos again. You might be tempted at $1.75 each to sample a few varieties, but trust me, try one pork in red sauce first. Then, when you realize it is the best taco you have ever had, go back to the counter and order a bunch more. Their homemade sauces are spectacular as well, not that the tacos need anything else to make the tasty. read more

Ive eaten tacos in nearly every city in the Northwest. Mexico and Guatemala too. This humble taco truck in Bend Oregon is absolutely tops. The food is authentic, flavorful, fresh and the family who operates the business are some of the most kind and wonderful people you can meet. My wife and I always get tacos. They are served with lime, radish, cilantro, onions and, are served on top of small tortillas that have been warmed on the grill. Options include pork, chicken or beef of course. Our kids love the quesadillas and burritos. Pricing is exactly what you would expect for a casual taco truck. But the quality and portion sizes are above most sit down restaurants. In summer months they will sometimes offer hibiscus tea. In the winter they will prepare a corn-based hot chocolate made with a Mexican chocolate. Te Jamaica is one of my favorite summer coolers - not to be missed. read more

I have only been there once but I feel I can tell what kind of place it is based on their salsas. I had the carne asada tacos. They are served just how I like it, meat, cilantros, and onions with free reign to use the salsas without judgment or having to ask for more. Three types of salsas from what I could see, a habanero, a salsa verde, and an avocado. All good but the two salsa verdes were my favorite. Prices are great and service is very fast. This will be my go to place whenever I need quick, delicious food. read more

Being from California I have a very high standard for Mexican food. This is by far the best Mexican food in the region, possibly Oregon. Their pork in red sauce burritos are to die for. My husband and I were coming through town and hankering some food truck tacos; this place more than fit the bill. A little pricey ($10 for three tacos with rice and beans) but very much worth it! The serving sizes are generous, and if you stay and eat in the little patio dining room, you can slather it with the delightful green sauce in bottles on the tables. And of course, as any Mexican food truck veteran will tell you, if you get a soda with your tacos, skip the coke and get a Jarrito. Will definitely come again next time we're in town! read more

Holy sh** this place is good. Flavors are bursting and seasoned beautifully with every one of their meats. The authenticity and attention to detail to everything here is particularly important to mention. The inclusion of grilled onion with the tacos takes it over the top. The salsas are fresh with great flavor and bite. I'm truly amazed at how amazing this place is. This is my favorite place to eat in Central Oregon and, in my opinion, you cannot find better more flavorful food anywhere else in this part of the state. I live close to the border so I was surprised and thrilled to have food that is the best of what we have back home. read more

Tacos Pihuamo is one of the most legit food carts in Bend right now. While I normally don't deviate much from their carnitas taco offering, it's all good. I love the grilled onions that come on the side. And their homemade salsas are exceptionally tasty, too. ¡Muy bien! read more

The chile rellano was better but the crema didn't have much flavor. The filling of the rellano lacked flavor too so he added salsas and that helped. The beans were too thick and the rice was dry. I ordered grilled chicken tacos and they weren't good. Overcooked meat and no flavor. I added some salsa and that helped a bit. I'm sure it's an us thing. We are used to so much more flavor.

After all that hard work, our family always ends up back at El Rodeo. It's our go-to spot and has been for years. The service is always great and the people working there are genuinely friendly and kind. It feels like a real family restaurant where they're happy you showed up. The bar is also a fantastic place to grab a drink or margarita, play a little video poker, and end up talking to half the locals in Bend. Somehow you go in for dinner and leave feeling like you attended a neighborhood reunion. The food is exactly what you want when you're craving Mexican: hot, good, and a lot of it. I have never once left there hungry or disappointed. Plates show up looking like they were designed for a lumberjack who skipped lunch. They recently remodeled the bar, which looks nice... but personally I believe Mexican restaurants should be built once in about 1987 and then left exactly the same forever. It's part of the charm. When you get there you get in line, but this is no Chipotle (no shade on Chipotle). While you are in line, one of the staff will ask you what you want to drink and will bring it to you so this makes the line much more bearable - and we enjoyed the unique cocktails. If they at least would post it outside their truck but nothing was posted. Sad to see such an awesome place go downhill. It's the new faces I tell you.
