Real Mexican food!!!!!! Clean inside but I would say it falls into that great hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant category that stays true to real Mexican food. I have a love hate relationship with this place. I love their food but I hate the location. A good time to come to the restaurant is during the week around lunch time. Once the sun sets I would recommend avoiding this place, it looks a little sketchy. I won't elaborate but you should take my word for it. These are good tacos! For $1.50 you can choose from adobada, chicken, al pastor, barbacoa, or lengua (I think). My favorites are the adobada, al pastor, or the barbacoa. For $2 get yourself a Sope and then top it with a selection from the small salsa/condiment bar. I like the smoky chipotle one, or the tomatillo. On certain days they have plate specials. I had the Carnitas and it was tasty!! Great little place to go for a quick lunch or dinner. Get some extra napkins, because you will make a mess!! read more

I just moved to aurora from san diego California and I was craving some good tacos and I was surprised that tacos selene wasn't that bad, me having the Mexican border so close back home, I got used to real Mexican tacos and tacos selene hit the spot, there still a bit different but it helps with the cravings of real Mexican food. read more

This place should be on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It looks shady on the outside, but the food is mexcellent! The barbacoa burrito was awesome and pretty big for only $6. The chicken quesadilla was very very good as well. The cheese was oozing out and the chicken was very juicy. We love to find places like this, good food, good prices, friendly people. I wasn't sure what to order and they were super helpful. Had Pork tacos, delicious, and 4 was just the right amount for me (3 if I hadn't been sooo hungry)! My husband had the pork burrito and gave it a thumbs up- high praise from him. He couldn't finish it- took about 1/3 of it home for tomorrow. We've found our local taco shop. It's a little bit of a challenge but wherever we live or travel we try to find places where we can both eat for under $20. With a tip and 2 soda's our bill was $18, so we'll put Tacos Selene into regular rotation. Yum, food! read more

I do love my Mexican dives. Because I like places like this. If you like avoiding the main stream places and heaven means street tacos and a coke - then this place is worth checking out. This place is another Yelp trap, but I guess it's their base line people use for ratings, so if you think McDonalds makes great burgers, you'll give this place 5*. The old saying "You get what you pay for" applies here as well; if you pay $11 for two, the quality can't be that great. This is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place but the tacos are good. We chose this take out based on yelp reviews and that it is 10 minutes from the airport. We had the tongue, beef, chicken, and pork tacos as well as another item that had a fried house tortilla. I thought the beef tongue had the best flavor and texture. They have a bar with all of the condiments, with different types of salsa, lime, radish, etc. The prices were really fair as well. read more

I stopped by last week to get some tacos for my son who's been missing his southern Cali taco fix. Mission accomplished. He's been back almost every day since. I ordered a barbacoa burrito and was disappointed. It's been a few months since I've been to TS, but wow what a difference from every last visit. My family and I landed in Denver and needed lunch. We happened to be close to Tacos Selene and it had 4 1/2 stars, Yelp has never steered we wrong, so we stopped. Once again we had a fantastic meal, thanks to Yelp. The food is authentic, the tacos are amazing and the staff is friendly. It's cheap so you can eat a ton for very little. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for my kids and I think they were the best I've ever had. We're here skiing for a week but I intend to stop for more Tacos Selene on the way back to the airport. This is a great taco spot tucked into a suburban hell on denver's east side. Everything is excellent, but I'd probably recommend the Barbacoa above all else. The tortas are excellent as well. Also, the ever-underestimated sauce bar is strong here. Definitely try it! read more

I thought it was going to be excellent but it was not totally there. Got carry out like I usually do at restaurants. My lengua burrito and our pork tacos were great with lots of flavor but my wife's 2 bean and cheese burritos were so runny that the tortillas were a gummy mess. Grossed out by that most definitely and paid $4 for each one. Not the best experience. Hope they see this and take action on the beans because if a Mexican restaurant cant make good beans of all things, we usually wont go back.
