    Bad chicken

Haven't came to this location for years cause my last visit wasn't that good taste wise. I stopped by today around 9:00 pm. I figured they might have figured it out by now but I was wrong... I got chicken, asada and Al pastor tacos and the taste on all meats were no good. All meats tasted off and also the chicken looked old and gray. If you're gonna be open till midnight and be charging $3 per taco please make sure your ingredients stay fresh and tasting right. Also I had some random guy come up to me while I was ordering begging me to buy him food after he got denied by other people eating at a table. Definitely located in a sketchy part of colfax but the staff should do a better job of keeping these people out of the establishment. Deeply disappointed and did not even finish my food.

    Tacos!

I love getting to try a new Taco spot, they are definitely one of my favorite foods! Tacos and Salsas did not disappoint! The tacos were a good size and had plenty of savory meat. They also have a variety of meat choices which I now see as a personal challenge to return and try them all! The Salsas on the table were a great compliment to the tacos and added just enough flavor and spice for my taste. If you're in the area, please do give them a try :)

Really big tacos full of meat (pastor, tripas, buche) They were bomb!!

Great service, great tacos, good variety of food, ill definitely be back! The tacos are a bit pricy when compared to the small street tacos, but these are a lot bigger so you get more bang for your buck! They have your typical meats like carne asada and chicken, but I like the more exotic meats. The buche, tripas, and pastor were amazing!! You should try some of these.

    Steak and chicken tortas. DELICIOUS!!!

I'm a big fan of small, private owned, old school restaurants because that's where you find the gooood food soo here I am The first time I was here, I got a torta and made it half chicken/half steak and it was delicious. This time around, I decided to get three tacos (chicken, steak, and pork). The tacos were a good size so for $2 each, it was a perfect meal. The tables and decorations let you know that this is authentic Mexican food. They even have the old school glass soda bottles to top it all off. If you're ever in this neighborhood, check it out!

After leaving a Denver Psychoanalytic Society movie screening at 11 PM my boyfriend and I found ourselves in an unfamiliar part of town and starving. We decided to take the long way home down Colfax to see if we could find something to eat and lo and behold we found Tacos Y Salsas. Since I remembered seeing a positive response to this place on Yelp, we stopped. Um, hello. Yum? In the tradition of delicious taco dives, tYs does NOT disappoint. I ordered 4 tacos as I thought they were going to be tiny. Yeah, don't do that unless you haven't eaten a week. My boyfriend is a burrito guy and reported that the beef and bean burrito was as tasty as it looked. I enjoyed steak, chicken and al pastor tacos, foisting half of each off onto him so that I could try each kind. The salsa bar is fantastic, they have something for EVERY taste and heat level there, we sampled 5 kinds along with some carrots from their carrot/jalapeno mix (fantastic carrots, btw - try them) and of course some radishes to cool it all down. Oh yeah, I am not sure how much we paid for the chips, but they were fried to order and really delicious, so get them,ok?

The tacos are good and tasty, but the value isn't really worth it for $1.75 a taco.

They serve tacos, ordinary tacos. I don't find it any good or bad. But for the price I paid, of course I'm a fan! YAY for cheap tacos!!!

This is what tacos are supposed to be. Tacos y Salsas is as good as my favorite place in Coachella, CA. That says a lot.

My vietnamese blood cannot be picky about thìs place. We live 10 min from Asia central in federal and food here hands down beat most of our favorites. We ordered 1) clay pot fish (bone in). Huge portion. Worth it. And the flavor is authentic. 2) shaken beef. Tender. 3) to go salad combo. Even good the next day 4) bun Bo vermicelli. My hub said the best in Denver he had and he had a few 5) lotus wonton. My picky toddler liked it. 6) lemonade lychee. They were so sweet even gave my 2 yo extra lychee when I asked so she can behave in her chair Overall highly recommend. Wish they were closer to us but it's a great place

When you think of Vietnamese, Americans tend to think of Pho, noodle bowls and lemongrass chicken but we need more places the focuses in home cooking and dishes that locals eat. Ingredients are fresh and dishes pack a powerful flavor bomb...I mean wow! The use of shrimp paste and other traditional ingredients really elevate flavors that many Americans are not used to, but you have to try it to understand. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. They went out of the way to help everyone and it shows. If you need a new spot, check Dan Da!

Our server, Malik, was so professional, courteous, engaging, gave us great suggestions and our meal experience was even better with him as our server! We ordered the Happy Hour cocktails of lemon drop martinis and a regular martini. Ordered a half-dozen of the Pearl oysters and they were so yummy, we ordered another half-dozen. Well-presented and delicious! We then ordered the Nantucket Risotto (only been on the menu for 2 weeks), the Blue Island Diver's Platter (ask for the octopus), a Happy Hour Crispy Slider and Fish Taco. We combined this with a glass of white wine and red wine. The meal was absolutely fabulous and we then finished this spectacular meal with sharing a key lime pie. Once again, Malik made this meal even better with his genuine smile, attentiveness and efficiency. I will say for the oyster deal it has been good, but sometimes the oysters aren't cleaned well. Again a hit and miss. The ambiance is nice and soothing, very ocean blue. We have also tried some sides and other entrees. The shrimp entree was good but lacked some salt. The burger was amazing with the bacon jam and always have the best shoestring fries. I also got an order of the crispy rice that has a salmon and a tuna. The salmon was way too sweet and had a fishy aftertaste that I disliked. The truffle tuna was definitely the better one of the two. However, the rice itself was absolutely mushy and not necessarily crispy. It also didn't have the best flavor. Desserts tried were the olive oil orange cake and the brownie. both are OK and nice and sweet, but not something I would spend money on Overall, truly think this place is a hit and miss. Just depends on the night.

Meanwhile, waitstaff and bar staff were fully aware I was standing there and chose to completely ignore me. Not a single greeting, no acknowledgment--nothing. After being blatantly ignored, I finally sat myself at the bar, thinking someone would at least step in at that point. Still nothing. No one came over, no one offered service--it was like I didn't exist. What makes this even more unacceptable is that the place wasn't busy at all. There is absolutely no excuse for service this poor when staff clearly have the time to do their jobs. To top it off, there was no manager or supervisor in sight, which says a lot about how this place is run. I was actually recommended to come here and drove 25 minutes just to be treated like this--completely not worth it. I will not be recommending this location to anyone. I may try a different location, but this one clearly has serious issues with customer service and basic professionalism.
