I believe Taco Vino is one of the most thought out business in Corvallis, excellent food and most of the time great customer service (not gonna fault a person for having an off day). I will note that if you are expecting traditional Mexican cuisine or street tacos you will be disappointed, but be aware, that's not what they are trying to do. It's fusion food, and that shouldn't be taken in a poor light, it's well thought out and well executed. So in one sentence: walk in with and open mind and you won't be disappointed. read more

Well I definitely agree with the name! They truly have wonderfully different tacos and delicious sangria wine. I tried the wahoo corn crusted fish tacos, the brisket Barbados and the curried chicken tacos topped with peanuts and mint. All were delightful, however the chicken was a little on the dry side. A little extra spicy peanut would go a long way to alleviate that. The red sangria was spicy and deeply rich. I would love to return and try the other flavors, too (white and rose). Prices were reasonable. I think they need to expand LOL! A BIG shout out to them for using paper straws. read more

I've been a couple of times, and while I wouldn't say they're the best taco in Corvallis, they can definitely stake a claim to being in the top tier. The tacos are creative and somewhat pricey but tasty, and the drinks, appetizers, and ambiance make this feel like an classy institution. I'd say it's worth a stop in. read more

Solid 4 star place, great idea and great food. It was slammed and there was a hint of delay from the server after we were seated but like I said, it was slammed so to be expected. Food came out quick and was tasty. Is it a wee bit pricey? Perhaps, but we are talking half a buck to a buck per taco pricey but frankly the tacos are very food truck esque, full of flavor and originality so I did not think twice about it until I read the odd review on here pointing it out. On second thought I think those reviews are a tad out of line. Great vibe inside (some may consider it loud) but that's the going rate for a happening place. The DIY guac is great but if I were to nit pic I would say more salt please! The salsas and hot sauce are fantastic. Great restaurant in a great small town. read more

TacoVino changed their carnitas. No more pomegranate pips. Too bad. That was a neat addition. They made another change - the way they make the actual carnitas. I don't know what they are doing different, but.... YUM! Sadly, they are still closed Sunday and Monday, and those are days I want to eat out. Oh well. That's ok. Wish I could give this restaurant 10 Stars. Great food, Great Service and this is still the Soft Opening! Tacos are creative and full of taste layers. Best salsa I have ever tasted. I will still hold with my 5 Star + rating. Will agree with some that the fish tacos are the one weak area. However, I have no doubt that Jason will adjust and make fish tacos that all can live. I have no problems with the prices. The entrees are well worth the $16 - $18 price in terms of quality and quantity. The tacos are very imaginative, with fresh, unique ingredients and the are loaded. Two Vino Taco tacos are all I need. They are well worth the $4 price. Taco Vino will be my weekly (at least) go to place for great food and a friendly staff. Back for my 12th time since the soft opening. Still want to give Taco Vino 10 Stars. Fantastic food, friendly staff. Always packed but worth the wait. I'm sorry Taco Vino. I've come here twice and I just cannot get excited about non-authentic tacos, particularly if they are overpriced. Don't get me wrong: the food is good. But, the food is not great. There are some interesting combinations of flavors that one can choose to adorn a taco with, Including things like jackfruit, or different curries. Also, the cocktails are amazing. To be honest I think this is more of a fancy cocktail bar that also happens to serve strange tacos, Which are really just "small plates" wrapped in a corn tortilla. Don't come here expecting to get full, or expecting anything authentically Mexican. Do come if you want to impress your hipster friends with one of Corvallis' rare options for a unique dining experience that isn't burgers and beer. No harm, no foul. read more

The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because I've been there twice now and each time it gets better and they've only been open just over 2 weeks. I feel they are awesome now and can easily obtain that 5th star once the routines are more established. The blood orange sangria is to die for, I can only imagine how it will taste on a balmy summer afternoon! Cocktails are very innovative and they are creative in their use of Mezcal and tequila. I've tried the majority of the tacos and there hasn't been one I didn't like. Favs include the fish, chorizo and steak. Can't wait to try the chicken skin taco, I seem to keep missing it. Great food and (ok) drink! AAANNNNDDD the absolute slowest service I have ever willingly endured. So unbelievably slow. Took 2 hours for drinks and tacos; how is that possible? And they questioned our drink order 4 times, then still brought the wrong drink. Waiter couldn't remember Pinot Grigio to save his life! My wife and I stopped for lunch on a Saturday during the Farmers Market. The chips are amazing, fresh, thick and crispy. The salsa was delicious, so was the guacamole. I started with a class of red Sangria while my wife tried the apricot-rhubarb margarita, they were excellent (I wish I had more time to try all the drinks). I tired the Fish, Bacon and Chili Colorado tacos, they were excellent, made fresh and tasted perfect. Service was excellent, although it did take a little to get our food. This is not a 5 minute taco place. The wait is well worth it! Overall this was a wicked yummy lunch and we highly recommend. read more

It's sad to see COVID related service reviews bring down their rating. Tough times juggling restrictions and finding staff I'm sure. I wish I can give it zero star... after 45 minutes of waiting, I was so excited about the highly-reviewed foods. However, I was so disappointed. The food here is over priced, very small portion ($22 for 3 fist-sized tacos), and worst of all, they are all super super salty. My kids drank a whole bottle of water after taking a few bites of the food. Please don't come here if you care about your blood pressure and kidney health. read more

TacoVino was fine, but it was nothing to write home about. We came during happy hour. This is post COVID and when Benton County entered phase 1. Seating was nicely spaced and we sat outside to enjoy some sun. The waitress was prompt and immediately brought us water. I just didn't really care for the tacos. They were $4+ per taco (unless you got the HH special which includes two tacos and a drink... i can't remember the exact price and it's not listed on their website). I ordered the steak taco which was ok and the Cochinita taco which was sopping wet and too salty. It was not enjoyable in my opinion. I'd much rather go to the Mexican food truck down the street for their tacos, which are tastier and less expensive. I go the margarita special, it was fine. This is a testament to how forgettable this experience was. Aside from the fact the one taco was too salty, I have nothing profound to say. It was just meh. read more

New favorite restaurant! Their food is so fresh and flavorful. I love the look of the place and the style of the menu. It is such a cool environment. Super impressed with their creative cocktail list. Slowly going to work my way through that. My favorite so far is their rosé sangria. YUM! White girl heaven right there. My favorite taco is the coconut curry one. Maybe my only suggestion is more benches for those waiting for a table (cuz we will sit and wait for an hour plus to just eat there!) After the first taco with a single hair in it, I looked over and my boyfriend had two more hairs hanging out of his mouth. He called the food server over and asked for a new taco. I would never have asked for a second taco after having the first one with hair. Whatever, he did. I lost my appetite. Couldn't eat my salad. They did not apologize for the hair in both tacos. They did nothing but ask us to pay our bill when it was clear I didn't eat more than three bites of my salad and we were served hair in both tacos. I've been here a handful of times for lunch since it opened and I try to tell as many people about it as I can. They pump out upbeat nostalgic music and the decor is funky fresh, with wall murals and wacky lamps up on the shelves. There's a lot of creativity and attention to detail in the menu. We have had an impromptu birthday celebration here and the staff were highly accommodating and put up with our goofy party decorations. I feel like there's a taco here for everybody's taste, but definitely try the DIY guac and sangria if you're with a group. My favorite taco is the curry chicken. read more

Bad, worst beet goat cheese salad I've had anywhere in the world. And I've enjoyed so many from all over. Pluses: very plentiful portion of gorgeous greens all so perky and fresh, clean tasting. So many varieties in that excellent bowl cannot possibly identify them all. Scrumptious house scratch made vinaigrette stood up to those greens without overwhelming them. Minuses: where were the beets? Maybe 5 tiny slices of an ok yellow beet. Could not find them in the salad bowl. Speaking of things missing where was the goat cheese? When I'm in town, as much as I like to go to all my old favorites, in also keen to try something new and nearly EVERYONE I asked for dinner recommendations responded enthusiastically with "GO TO TACO VINO! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!" And for the most part, they were right! The house sangrias are all really delicious! The flaming queso is cute and tasty! And it's really well decorated inside, with friendly staff members. The tacos are also really good and there are lots of options for vegetarian pals; while not a vegetarian myself, I was indeed smitten with the jackfruit tacos! They're so good. My only gripe? The price. Maybe it's because I live in CA now where I can get bomb tacos on the cheap, but it does seem like this is a place that you'd go as a treat, rather than a once-or-twice-a-week joint; $4 is a lot for one taco, even with the artisan take. Had dinner here with my wife last weekend. The good: really tasty tacos across the board and B15 Sticky Hands on tap. We had five tacos between the two of us and they ranged from good to excellent. The two best were the veggies -- a curried jack fruit and a kale raab (was a special). The bad: service was just lousy. I stood at the hostess stand for 10-15 minutes when we arrived, just waiting to get on the list. When someone finally came over, he seemed pretty hassled and just handed me a piece of paper and told me to write my name on it. When we were seated, the waitress was ok, but not in any way exceptional. Our tacos arrived and we had neither napkins nor utensils. We finally flagged someone down to ask for napkins, and he acted super irritated. He came back, slapped some napkins on the table and scurried off without a word. We had to flag someone else down to ask for silverware. Lastly, one of the plates of tacos was just luke warm, like it had been sitting in the window for a while. The other was hot. Yes, it was a Saturday night and they were busy, but not unreasonably so. They seemed fully staffed with enough folks to handle it without getting too far into the weeds. I suspect that we'll give this place another shot based on the strength of their tacos, but if I feel as unwelcome then as we did this time, it will be my last visit. read more
