The highlight was the Raspberry Jalapeño Margarita. A little spicy but not overwhelming. The carnitas taco was better then the carne asada one. A friend was in town and was craving Mexican food, so what do I do, I turn to my trusty yelp app to find us a place to nom. I love getting to try new places and especially new taco places, so when Tacovore popped up in my search, I couldnt pass it up. The listing was so new, they didnt have hours. So, in the hopes they were open at 6:45pm on a tuesday, we ventured over. Not only were they open, they were busy as heck. Its the kind of place where you order first, then find a seat. I know thats not everyone's cup of tea, but its kind of nice. While waiting in line that moved quickly enough, we had a chance to look over the menu. So many choices, from tacos to bowls and even ceviche. Added bonus points, every single item on the menu, gluten free. I narrowed down my list of tacos I wanted to try to four. Yeah, you read that right, four! Like I said, so many choices. Oh, plus chips and salsa and a horchata. I got the herbivore, the old e, crispy cauliflower, and the carnitas taco. Each one was special in its own way. Oh, and they have a salsa bar with 6 different kinds of salsa! Six!?! I really liked the pineapple jalapeno one. Sweet and spicy. I've been to the one near Salem but never this location. Decided to try it after a street ramble. They had an awesome rockfish taco! Too early for margaritas, for those are kick ass as well! I love tacovore! It's a bit trendy but the food is always good and decently priced imo. You order at the counter and they bring it to your number. The line is usually long at peak meal times. Loved the location, the menu diversity, all the different beverages, the clean, open atmosphere and the super friendly staff. The tacos, though, were just ok. I had a few different veggie options and both were absolutely smothered with cashew cream sauce. This should be an accent, not a main ingredient. Really great place now shifting to take out only. The tacos are divine and actually priced well for freshness and taste. They also have appetizing sides and salad bowls. Sadly, the great alcohol drink options are limited in the take out environment--beer & wine plus margarita mix you can prepare at home. Hands down, this is my new favorite place in Portland. My workmate and I came in after a long meeting, totally on a lark. The place we planned to go was closed... tsk tsk! Taco-bore is correct. Bland. From the tacos, to the guacamole, to the salsa. Also, they completely forgot one of our items. A server even stopped to ask what we were missing and I told him and it still never came. When I asked for a refund for the missing item, I was given just that. A refund for just the item. No offer of additional compensation for their mistake like removing another item, etc. There is a reason why we go to Fire on the Mountain when on Fremont. We stumbled upon this place about a month ago while out looking for a breakfast spot. Ironically we decided to check this place out since we love tacos and we were happy we did!! The tacos are more elegant than what you'd expect from your run of the mill Mexican joint, which is why they cost a little more than I expected BUT they are worth every penny. New spot on Fremont that I have been curious to try, since it always looks so busy every time I drive past it. got there around 7pm and the line was out the door! line was barely moving, when we got a tip from someone that if you were 21+ with no kids you can skip the line and just got to the bar. So we definitely did that! Greeted by the bartender who took our orders right away. Margaritas came right away and were strong but full of flavor! Alright cowboys, this is one fine spot. Roy Rogers used to buy Hostess Sno Balls (white to match his hat) Cupcakes here when he visited Portland in the 50's as this was a grocery store back in them there days. The noise level can be earsplitting in here as well-to-do northeasterners (N.E. Portland, not the other coasters) feel no compunction about letting their kids run wild as stallions in the place. Douse the little rats with margaritas I say. Ohhhh, that's right, the margaritas are extra special fine. Douse them with water, maybe? What would Gabby Hayes have said? Hmmm. The woman who wouldn't mind her rude children might be referred to by Mr. Hayes as, "durn persnickety female". (Not PC enough?) and the kids as "young whippersnappers" (that'll pass muster). The food is excellent, the prices reasonable, and the service outstanding. Attend after those wild little varmints are headed for the corral, say around 7 PM. Tacovore has opened in Portland! I live in the neighborhood and have been watching and waiting and.... I went to the very well attended soft opening and tasted quite a few delectables. First, the margaritas. Everything is fresh squeezed, no mixes here! I tasted both the house and the pineapple made with habenero-infused tequila. They were super drinkable, tasty and repeat-worthy. We tasted the ceviche and guac/chips, both of which hit the spot. My asada and carnitas taco's were good-sized and flavorful. The Spousal Unit tasted the mole verde and old E tacos and insisted that she was fully satisfied. They had a smoked tofu and a tempeh taco which I'll have to try. They also have bowls. They have several beers on tap. I'm looking forward to trying them all! read more

This review is for the owners to see, and not so much customers (for them I say it's delicious and you should definitely go) to the management/owners- Dining in last night with my family and went to grab my beverage from the bar. I realized what I ordered I had mistaken for something else. Since the bartender was standing right there I apologized about my mistake and asked if I could switch it out. Please note- this was non alcoholic, and hadn't been touched- her response was EXTREME! you'd have thought she'd just prepared a full 12 course meal from scratch and now had to throw the entire dinner away. She stood there staring at me for a solid 30sec, with a clear disdain for my request, let out a huge groan and looked around for staff support. She said "FINE" and poured me a lime-aid then slammed (seriously she slammed it) down. Her reaction to my request was so rude and extreme that my niece started laughing and my jaw dropped. Was she forced by the police to be at work that day? Do I remind her of a bully from high school? Like wtf?? Had she simply explained why she couldn't do that I would have understood and purchased another drink or grabbed water. However her over the top rudeness made it clear I was ruining her life and just helped me double down and smile- something she could have learned if she'd ever been trained in customer service. So sorry to have inconvenienced your black haired, heavy eyeliner, tattooed primadonna who clearly has better things to do with her time. Kept my mouth shut to hide my inner Karen, but she still stomped off to complain about my request- something I overheard her doing. Glad she doesn't represent my company. read more

For white people tacos this place is aight. I just went to their new location, no happy hour-- yet! Ordered the grilled chicken taco, 3.75, which has lots of flavor and they didn't skimp you, though do wish the taco was doubled with tortilla, like most true Mexican restaurants you can clean up the scraps with your extra one ;) and their special veggie one of the day which had potatoes, shiitakes, kale or braised greens, and this beet crema sauce. Honestly, the creativity was there the greens were just a bit overdone and didn't taste that great. This place is a bit pricer than what it should be but you do get a loaded taco. read more

Very excited for Tacovore to be in the neighborhood. First things first, yes, it is not table service, but that's part of the atmosphere, and frankly makes the place more fun and approachable, especially for those of us with children. Don't know why you'd take a star away for that! On to the good stuff - the food and drinks! Simply amazing. The tacos are a delicious combination of flavors. Pay attention to the ingredients as they have really perfected certain combinations. The carnitas was our family's favorite, but we also really enjoyed the carne asada, Old E, pescado and bean and cheese. Also, if there's something you don't like, ask them to leave it off. Staff was extremely accommodating with everything. Salsa bar also gets a big thumbs up - nice to sample the different flavors and get to choose what works best for me. The margaritas are out of this world and the beer list is solid. I read the complaints about wine in a can, but I'm not sure why you go for wine at a mexican restaurant. Overall our family is thrilled with Tacovore. You shouldn't miss an opportunity to get there whenever you can! read more
