I love this place with all my heart! Been coming here for almost a year after I found this gem on TikTok. The welcoming feeling you get when you step into the cafe is the best feeling. You immediately feel at home (hence the name)! It makes you want to grab a drink, a pastry and sit down with a book. My absolute favorite drink is the black sesame latte which is not watered down like other places. Hot or cold, the black sesame taste is still strong and I like chewing on sesame topping they put at the end. If you're a coffee drinker, they have the option of a dirty black sesame latte. The pastries here are aesthetically pleasing and are all wonderful! Their flavors are true to its name. They have yuzu cake, sable cookies, salted hojicha chocolate (cookie), earl grey paer, yuzu rosemary scone and more! I love bringing family and friends here! Tadaima has not disappointed once. Y'all Tadaima is where it's at. They are a nice and cozy spot located on the second floor of an Industry City building and such a delight. There are a select number of items on the menu which include mostly warm beverages and pastries. The beverages seem to come with nice toppings and are prepared slowly and with care. While the inside of the space is small, it is nice enough for a quick sit down. They also sell other nifty items like candles and such. I loved loved loved my vegan hot chocolate and the service I received as they were kind. By they, I mean the two women running the place. I do recommend. read more

AMAZING CAFE! I had to try everything! I got their yuzu lemon loaf cake, matcha sable cookie, hojicha scone, and matcha latte. It was honestly so good that I went back and ordered seconds for the pastries. The pastries aren't too sweet, which is perfect for appreciating the simplicity of the elements they put in their goods. It's a small, cute cafe with minimal seating inside. However, there are extra tables and chairs in the hallway. You can also walk around japan village after while enjoying your snacks. The cafe gives off a very Western influenced atmosphere. It's small and cozy. All of the pastries looked and sounded so good that I wanted to try everything. I ended up getting three different kinds in three different different flavors. The matcha latte was unsweetened, but they have sweeteners (simple syrup, agave, etc.) on the side if you want to add them. The matcha was strong and whisked well. There weren't visible clumps when I finished the drink. I preferred it unsweetened to compliment the baked goods. The sesame madeleine had a crisp exterior, and fluffy interior. The sesame flavor was very prominent. The matcha sable cookie was bittersweet. Perfect if you prefer your cookies less sweet. The cookie was so buttery too. The salted hojicha chocolate cookie had a nice roasted flavor, but I wish the salt was more evenly distributed. Some parts were too salty, and others didn't have any. I went to Tadaima earlier in Fall 2023. The cafe is located in industry city on the 2nd floor of a building. The cafe was not busy when I went on the weekend but there were people coming and going. There are a few benches to sit and eat inside. The owner was very sweet and the shop was very cozy and smelled amazing. I ordered the muffins, some cookies, and a hojicha latte. Everything was great and I regret not ordering more items since I traveled a long way there. All of the baked goods had good flavor and weren't too sweet. Tadaima is such a special spot. It's like if a mother's hug blended with the charm of a fantastical hidden gem (ie the wardrobe in Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe or the brick wall to entrance of Diagon Alley in Harry Potter). Everything inside feels imperfectly perfectly placed with a quirky warm peaceful ambiance. All the drinks have such care put into them. I've been there several times and from hojicha tea to a specialty latte, you can't go wrong. Also, the desserts are delectable and not too sweet but still scratches the sweet treat itch. All the baristas are polite and detail oriented. They run a well oiled machine behind that counter. If I had to complain about anything, it can have a long line but it's worth the wait. Also, they say only three patrons inside the store to order at the time and sometimes people don't obey the sign/rule so it gets overcrowded which can feel uncomfortable. Hard-to-find Japanese coffee shop/bakery in Industry City. Took forever to locate the spot as we didn't realize that it's on the second floor of the complex (tucked away to the left from the stairs). Small line to get in as they only allow three people inside to order at a time. Absolutely had to get the Mizusashi Cold Brew ($8). Slow drop cold brew in a 12oz cup that needs nothing extra. Excellent flavor and supremely strong. Also split a blueberry muffin ($4ish) - crumbly top and an even spattering of blueberries. Definitely stale as it was later in the day so didn't finish it. Beautiful and tranquil little coffee shop with the sweetest ladies working here. My go to drink is their hojicha latte with oat milk. It's $8+ but worth it to me. They use all environmental friendly products and give you nice mugs and teaplates if you stay. They have free ice water and seats inside including one fit for kids. They have yummy cookies, muffin cakes and my favorite is the rosemary yuzu scone. It is very subtle tasting with some saltiness and light sweetness to it. There are more setting options right outside the shop. They enforce a 3 people standing policy and a line usually forms outside. So I work in Industry City in the same building 5 and I've only heard about Tadaima from people walking through but there are so many people hunting for it, I had to find out for myself! It tends to close a little early in my opinion but I'm a coffee all day girl. It smells amazing when you walk in. They only allow 3 people in at a time so there is often a line out front. They really have a focus on attention to detail and diligence you can tell in the amount of time they take to make a cup of coffee this is not a place you go if you just want a quick drink because you really want to appreciate the art they've created and curated for you. They have oak milk which is great and their coffee selection always has a seasonal special. They make some REAL slow drip coffee which is crazy looking how slowly they're filtering the water through the beans (and the total is limited to 10 cups per day!) it's really quite a show to create the drink. They also do pour overs which dont take forever and you can have a great cup in just a few minutes. The bakery has quite a few pastry options that range from $2.50 up to like $7 per item. They all look so lovely. They have a few items for sale in a little storefront that really match this vibe too. read more

It's so peaceful here with its soothing music playing in the background as customers eat desserts that pairs so perfectly well with their amazing selection of lattes, teas, and coffee. Their drinks are measured precisely, with authentic and fresh ingredients that really does bring out its flavors optimally. I got their hot kabocha matcha latte which was mildly sweet without adding any additional sweetener, nice pumpkin flavor, and matcha depth was great. Aesthetically pleasing as well. I've been following this bakery's Instagram for a while and finally made the trek to Industry City to try it out! The bakery is inside the Maker's Space (within Industry City), which is a floor containing a bunch of small businesses that make their own products. The space is so beautiful and overlooks a pathway with lots of trees and greenery. I got the truffle salt sable and a slice of the yuzu lemon pound cake and my friend got a matcha sable. The yuzu lemon pound cake was divine! It was super soft and fluffy with a bright citrus-y flavor and topped with an equally refreshing lemon glaze and edible flowers. The sable was nice and buttery with a good crisp and almost-flaky texture. The truffle flavor was quite strong, so this is perfect for truffle lovers. Unfortunately, I've come to realize I am not a fan of truffle ahaha so I think I could pass on this next time I stop by. I've been to Tadaima a few times, from when they were just a pop up shop in December 2020 to now their move to a flag ship store in Industry City. I love coming by and wish it was easier for me to get to (I don't live anywhere near red hook/industry city). I've had some of her seasonal drinks (the lemonade is one of my favorites). I think that the owner is very sincere and kind. If you're coming by you should be aware this is a Japanese bakery but a lot of it is really just the flavors rather than the style you'd associate with a Japanese or other East Asian bakery. And I love that she's taken a different approach. My favorite items are the yuzu pound cake and the earl grey Madeline but there are so many good things--I've never had something I dislike. read more

I'm so glad this lovely little shop is open in Industry City, its located inside building 5 on the 2nd floor. They are only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. I originally came for the matcha because theres not many places around here where you can get real proper matcha. But once I walked in I decided on the Chai Latte and I was not disappointed. They offer oat milk as well as whole milk, however, they do use Oatly which I'm not a huge fan of. The barista was very polite and pleasant and crafted such a beautiful latte. I also got a Matcha Madeleine and a Matcha White Chocolate Cookie that was perfectly crunchy around the edges with a soft center. The next time I come I will definitely get Matcha! read more

We drove to Brooklyn last Sunday planning to visit "Japan Village" grocery store run by Sunrise Mart and was shocked to find that the grocery store was located in just one part of a whole complex of eight buildings called Industry City. Japan Village wasn't open yet so we wandered through each building. Furniture outlets for West Elm, Design Within Reach and ABC Carpet & Home are there, as well as Sahadi's and a cool antique store. A food hall. Tons of quirky, cool small businesses and a huge entrepreneur incubator space that we would've never discovered if we didn't buy a car last year during the pandemic since we're too lazy to take the subway beyond Manhattan. We stumbled upon Tadaima Japanese patisserie on the 2nd floor of the buildings. I dragged my husband inside to get a closer look at the cookies and cakes and felt right at home buying matcha sable, coconut sable and vanilla and wild cherry cookies ($2.50 each) It was a hot day and I was thirsting for iced tea but the owner suggested a yummy and refreshing brown sugar ginger ale with a splash of yuzu. So delicious! The buildings generously stuffed comfy seating areas all around Industry City and outside the patisserie so we plopped down on a bench and enjoyed our snack. Even bought a stylish blouse from Tadaima for $25 (the owner has a small rack of vintage clothes and other non-food merchandise for sale on the side). Love this place and will definitely be back to try one of the iced pound cakes that looked so pretty decorated with edible flowers. read more
