Back again. Great service and good sushi. Definitely should give this restaurant a try. Pro tip: Go early for the happy hour specials.

6 Salmon Skin Handrolls. 2 orders of Salmon Belly. 1 order of Salmon. 1 Yellowtail Collar.

Randomly ordered sushi from Tadashi (I'm not from around here) and was pleasantly surprised with what I got. I fully expected TINY portions and to be hungry after my meal but I wound up pleasantly full and happy with the quality... Minus the fact that the salmon skin handrolls are TINY AS EVER. The hamachi Kama was delicious, perfectly cooked and they gave me extra rib meat, which was an unexpected surprise! The salmon belly sashimi (fatty salmon) was a real treat (it's my favorite) and I didn't realize I ordered 2 orders, but I'm thrilled that I did. The salmon (not fatty) was also delicious. The salmon skin hand rolls were also good but SOOOOOO small. Basically almost no salmon skin at all. Tadashi DID however listen to my request for no rice or vegetables or sauce, so that's nice! Over all, I definitely rate my meal a 4/5. A 4 purely because the salmon skin handrolls were just SOOOO small and because this meal of mine was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive.

Stopped in for a lite lunch prior to massages. Service was friendly enough. We ordered water and green tea, both had a soap taste to them to the point we didn't drink with our meal. Sushi was okay but not something I'll return to.

Went to dinner last night with my wife at Tadashi. It was another great experience. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. It was quite busy but the service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and not too loud at all! We enjoyed spicy edamame, miso soup, soft shell crab salad and the Hawaiian Roll. All of it was so good!

I went with my family and we really loved it! (Even the little ones) And the food was so nice, I had the ramen and it was SPECTACULAR! The waitress was also very nice.

Have to end it with green tea ice cream I love it so much I got 2!

my favorite place to go every time we celebrate something! I love sushi and this is the best place I can eat all I want without thinking about the price thank you!

Great food, fast service and perfect date night spot. The food is pricey but worth the extra dollar. Ordered Sake and a good amount of appetizers. The best and most memorable appetizer was the soft shell carb! The spicy edamame was addicting and not to spicy, and I don't eat spicy stuff often. The seafood pops was very yummy tempura of calamari, scallops, and shrimp with a spicy mix on top. California roll even tasted different than ones I've had... Overall, the quality food and experience at Tadashi is one I'd go back for again and again!

Anytime we need a good sushi fix, Tadashi does not disappoint. My absolute favorite on the menu is the Hawaiian sunset roll which includes just about everything - a good mix of flavor and texture. Service is generally pretty attentive.

Came here for dinner with my lovely girlfriend as a special date night for our Austin trip from Houston TX. Had high hopes since we have had plenty of great sushi from other japenese restaurants back at home. Overall, Japanese food was good, non Japanese food was okay. Make sure you stick to sushi when you eat here. The entrees were a bit on the heavy side.

I also ordered a beer with edamame. I also noticed how well they made the ramen it was flavorful and bursting with miso which I love. It was very delicious I think I ate the whole thing but that's not all I also had the Bento box with beef and it had shrimp tempura style. That was absolutely delicious as well it was fried well and not to over done. As I was Going through the menu again I noticed for dessert they have a mango Type mochi ice cream Japanese style. Delicious and differently creamy. The one thing I want to point out is that it's kind of confusing regarding the entrance there's 2 entrances 1 in the front and 1 in the back. The one in back I noticed doesn't have Handicap but they do have handicap in the front of the restaurant but not in the back. I went ahead and sat down and decided to check out the menu. And I decided to order the iced green tea which was a little slushy and the ice was crushed. I also ordered a salad with the tempera shrimp. I also ordered the tempura zen, Another dish that I have ordered in the past that was delicious. Now here is why I'm giving them one star why because it took over an hour to even get my food I'd never got my tempura Zen that's right they were still waiting for that last dish to be Served to me. Yes over 1 hour sitting outside and people were complaining outside that they also were waiting longer than me. So I don't know what's going on with one of my very great places I love to eat the food quality of the tempura was low quality why is because it was very greasy and the shrimp was Not very crispy but yet sloshy and seem like limp after being in fried oil. Wasn't very appetizing I was in shock actually that I was treated as though I never existed. Trying to get the waitress to come out all she did was way at me with one hand and that was it. Unfortunately after this fiasco it's gonna be a while before I return if ever I have to read to see if anything has gotten any better. This isn't necessarily an every-week dinner for us price-wise--hibachi can definitely be a splurge--but if we could justify going every week, we absolutely would. It is hands-down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. And hibachi seems simple enough: great meat, fried rice, fresh vegetables, sauces. But when it's done REALLY well, apparently there is a huge difference, because Japon has completely ruined mediocre hibachi for me. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the meat is always cooked beautifully, the vegetables are perfect, the rice is ridiculous, and I could probably consume an irresponsible amount of their sauces. The food is actually so good that it inspired me to start buying fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, yum yum sauce and sriracha and making my own little version at home. It isn't Japon, obviously, but that's how much we love this food. What really deserves recognition, though, is their consistency. We've visited both locations, they've been absolutely SLAMMED, and somehow the service is still exceptional. We've never sat around forever waiting to be acknowledged or wondering where our server went. The staff is attentive, friendly and efficient every single time we've gone. The atmosphere at both locations is beautiful and lively, and of course there's the whole experience of watching your meal prepared right in front of you. Even the little details make it feel like a complete dining experience--from sitting down with a cold Topo Chico and fresh lemon to the little orange treat at the end. It's one of those restaurants where you leave already thinking about the next time you can justify going back. Yes, dinner for two can turn into a splurge. But we've never walked out feeling like the experience wasn't worth it. The quality of the food, atmosphere and consistently excellent service keeps us coming back. If you're craving hibachi in Austin, Sushi Japon is absolutely worth trying. Both locations have been fantastic for us. 10/10. If my budget had its way, we'd be regulars. If my stomach had its way, we'd live there.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that she didn't have the reso on her end; rather than apologizing or making a single effort to fix the issue, she just stared at us. We had to prompt her for clarification and next steps, and had to continue to prompt her through the process of getting us sat. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.

Good pieces of fish! I also enjoyed the topping on each of them adding a nice twist to every bite. While it's not the most unique or blow your socks off quality, it is a good nigiri mix. The roll was also nice with a nice garlic crunch element layered in with the salmon and sushi rice. I like that the sushi rice is subtly sweet and tangy! The sunomono salad was pretty nice, but the sauce it came with was wonderful, especially paired with the nigiri and sushi roll. Since the sushi roll is basic, the sauce adds a nice sweet soy flavor. They also provided ponzu sauce which was more on the salty side. Overall, I enjoyed the takeout omakase box, but I don't think it's something I'd come back for until I have tried the other sushi spots in Austin.
