My friends and I have been dying to try this place! Now that it's in back of King Bee we stopped in. The temakis are SO good, literally all of them. I loved the california hand roll and the avocado. The service was also above and beyond- especially for a food truck. I can't wait to come back soon. The chicken karage was also phenomenal.

Little trailer making handrolls and sashimi. They can get quite busy at times with to go and orders for folks eating at the picnic benches. It'll get hot in the Summer and there is a little bit of shade here and there. They have little battery operated fans to keep the flies away as well - because for whatever reason they're drawn to your food. The folks that work there are nice and friendly but definitely quite busy. Miso soup was ok - pretty standard fare. The handrolls and sashimi were both great. We had for tuna and sake sashimi which were good. For handrolls we had Maguro, Sake Toro, Hama Toro and Ebi Tempura. Our favorite was the Ebi Tempura in terms of flavor - the other ones were all good too.

It's located in a small food truck area but there's plenty of seating. Service was great and they're super friendly, it was a particularly hot day so they were even giving out free water bottles to customers. The quality of the food to me was about restaurant status, which is really impressive! I don't think the pricing is too bad either for what you get. The edamame was not my favorite, I think it might've been overcooked or maybe it's the way they cook it because the pods were very firm tasting not soft or juicy. I got the sake & hama toros, both delicious and refreshing, no complaints. I actually would come back here or recommend it to my friends because of the location being near other food options (trucks), while also satisfying my own handroll craving.

We came here for lunch. They gave us a water with our order is Salmon Toro and Hama Curry. Both were tasty but a bit small in size. The quality was fine. Overall, fine experience

Visited Little Nishi this past weekend and got to chat with the owner, Joel, for a little bit. He was former head chef at Kome sushi and temaki chef at Uroko. You can see he's put a lot of effort, practice, and love into something he's envisioned a long time coming! The quality of the fish and the sashimi & temaki (hand rolls) themselves are great. My only suggestion would be to offer them in the same traditional experience with pickled ginger and soy sauce on the side. Don't get me wrong, the rolls are fantastic by themselves but I personally love them a little saucy, so I did miss having a dipping sauce. Other than that, the curated combinations come together nicely and temaki are generously filled. The chicken karaage was perfect, the right level of crispy! It came with a wasabi honey dipping sauce so wasabi fans, you're going to love this! Seaweed salad was great, refreshing We tried the blue fin tuna and sake (salmon) sashimi, both of these were chunky and tasty and served over umami ice. My partner loved the blue fin tuna with wasabi on top for a little spicy kick Overall a solid spot with a lot of potential and a deeply invested team behind it! I'd love to see it as a handroll bar some day, I've always said we need more of those in Austin. Excited to see where this goes!

Great tasting food, we did have some hiccups during our meal. Lots of flies, even the fans they provided couldn't help. Would plan to take meal to go next time if possible, or eat in car. My boyfriend is vegan so we did have an incident with one of his options having fish :/. I personally loved the lobster and spicy tuna roll the best. Very delicious. Service was nice and quick.

Great service, friendly. Food was better than I expected from a food truck. Lots of flies so they were kind enough to give us one of those fly fans

Words cannot describe how delicious this meal truly was. Huge shoutout to Joel for the suggestions and for putting together this amazing platter of food! If you're skeptical about eating sushi from a food truck, don't be! Everything was so fresh and flavorful, I'm definitely looking forward to going back for more.

Got to finally try Little Nishi and had the best time! After just getting back from a trip to Japan, having authentic Japanese sushi and rolls just down the street from me was just what I hoped to find. The food is delicious and quickly prepared, and the service was top notch kindness! Such a cute food truck!Highly recommend.

Tasty sushi at a great price, and it was ready in just 5 minutes. The only suggestion for improvement would be to be a bit more friendly and welcoming to your customers!

I came to this food truck at the recommendation of a friend; I actually came here after having had dinner at a restaurant nearby and I was already decently full, but I wasn't completely stuffed. I had heard that the quality of the fish here was actually quite high despite the fact that it's a food truck and the prices look very reasonable online so I was curious. I popped by after dinner and I ordered the eel and the salmon Toro hand rolls. I brought them home and ate them, and I can confirm that they were a decent size but certainly not enough to make me feel like I was stuffed, even though I was already full when I had them. That leads me to believe that yes, the quality of the fish is very, very good, and for $22 which is what I spent, it's a very reasonable buy. However, in order to get really full, you probably need to buy at least a few different things on the menu which could add up. That said you're definitely still gonna be paying less than you would if you went to like a fancy omakase place or something. The service was actually very quick and the workers were very friendly, I don't think I waited more than three or four minutes. They also gave me a complementary bottle of water while I was sitting there and a cute little sticker, and the little food truck park has lots of benches with umbrellas where you can eat if you choose to. There are a lot of food/dessert options there too. There was also what seemed like plenty of parking spots available in the lot next to the food trucks, but I was already parked somewhere else so I didn't need to find a spot. It is gravel parking, though, just be aware. Overall, I would definitely recommend a little nishi to anyone and I would definitely come back if I was craving sushi! I think you'd need 3-4 items to get full but that's still about a $50-60 experience, really quite good for the quality and variety of what you're getting!

Love this place! Small food truck with outdoor seating. Every time I come to Austin I need to come here to get a quick sushi fix. Fish is so fresh. Highly recommend the bbq eel. By far my favorite.

The intimate, speakeasy setting is such a vibe! Hidden behind a bookcase tucked away in Holey Moley, Chef Saine and his small team bring you an incredible 14-course experience with top-tier ingredients sourced directly from local farmers in Japan. With only 6 seats per session, this is a cozy experience and one I definitely could not recommend more. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, located in East Austin, there is plenty of street parking. - Reservations can be tricky to land, but you can grab weeknight ones if you're flexible. - Pricing is about $170/person, with the option to add on drinks and extra bites (3 extra for $45/person). Tax and tip not included. My favorite bites were the maguro blue fin (an incredible start to the night!), the buttery Kanpachi amberjack, and the Wagyu ribeye with salted egg yolk (steak and eggs). Everything is stellar, and the Belgium chocolate ice cream finish with a little serenading from Chef is a great way to wrap up the experience. Service is top notch!
