This place makes the freshest fried falafel balls that I have ever had. The inside of each ball is soft and bright green, and it is perfectly seasoned, too. The outside of the falafel is crispy from start to finish, and it is served nice and hot. The cold, sweet hibiscus tea reminds me of sorrel, the Caribbean drink that is part of Christmas tradition, only that the hibiscus tea had less sugar and spice. Hibiscus tea is a Palestinian staple, said the young lady behind the counter who took my order. She also said that the restaurant makes Palestinian street food, and she encouraged me to come back and try other menu selections. This is a family-owned business that just opened up another location in Deer Park. If you like eating high quality Mediterranean comfort food, I highly recommend you try Taheni.

Randomly came across this place but. What a GREAT spot. Food was delicious!!! Some of the best Palestinian food I've ever had. Fresh, made to order, and tasty! From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is a really nice, simple, authentic vibe.

I haven't been to this place but I ordered take-out because I wanted some mediterranean food. I ordered the build your own bowl and had steak in it. The food is okay and a good option for a quick bite to eat. Their zaatar fries are very good!

The food was phenomenal. Huge fan of Halal food. The service was very friendly they even offered me a small piece of chicken to taste seasonings i was unsure of. The ambience is nice very spacious and authentic Palestinian art and music playing in the background.

This shows in their quality of cuisine and the hospitality bestowed upon you when walking through the door. This is our new favorite Halal spot on Long Island! Everything is made from scratch, hot & fresh with love. Although it is Halal, they also offer traditional Indian dishes as well, like butter chicken. Tip: Order extra green sauce as you can drink it like fine wine. It might be tough to find as it is very small and tucked away in the corner of a low-traffic strip mall. Mostly take out. Thanks again to my fellow Yelpers for helping me locate this Eastern oasis. PS-Try the homemade baklava!

Well, actually I didn't, at first, but I called and a kind woman told me they were in the other shopping center. I went in the wrong direction. It's a small, very clean space with a few tiny tables and no restroom. The lady at the counter asked if it was my first visit, and I said yes. She said, "I will give you samples!" The lamb has wheat (breadcrumbs), so I didn't try it, but the chicken was amazing! And the rice was delicious. I wanted a Greek salad, but the chicken was SO good, flavorful without heat, just spice, that I ordered chicken with salad instead, and fries. Generous portions--I ended up taking a lot home--and yummy. The fries were crispy. Will absolutely return! Wonderful find! While Patchogue is farther away than Riverhead, it's a nice alternative.

I got few whole pitas plus humus. Food was cheap but tasted delicious Whole pita is stuffed with 5 falafel balls fries, salad, cabbage, pickles and more. The restaurant is certainly clean and I like how it's in the open so you can see all the action and cleanliness. I ordered their falafel whole pita sandwich and was told I can add whatever choosing I wanted. I also ordered two sides of their falafel balls to enjoy. They were 3 balls for $1. As for the sandwich, I thought it only tasted okay. I was very hungry at that point so if I thought my sandwich was okay then I know I'm not a fan of it. The flavoring was bland, I asked for spicy sauce but didn't taste any. I also asked for the fried eggplants to find out as I'm biting into it that there was none. Make sure you watch them when asking for your choosing. They might now hear you and you'll just end up feeling disappointed like me because I love the taste of eggplants. Regarding the falafel ball, I thought it was too doughy. I usually like them a little more loose and garlicy.

The main benefit of that being I didn't have to decide what I was having for lunch. This was the choice. I like mediterranean because it tends to be slightly healthier than some other options. This place is right up my alley because of the vegetarian leaning options on the menu, which is another benefit of this particular cuisine. Having said that, there were quite a few choices for me. They have bowls, salads, soup, sandwiches, platters, I mean, it's endless. I was planning on taco bell for dinner so had to compensate somewhat with lunch and decided to build a salad. I did greens, their mix of rice and lentils, cauliflower, cabbage, pickles, hummus, hot sauce. I am not a big fan of spring mix and I wonder if maybe something hot caused the greens to wilt but they were way too wilty for me. That was not particularly appetizing but everything else was really tasty. The hummus, especially, holy shit. I could eat that with a spoon. Two of my colleagues got the jersualem falafel sandwich and raved about it. I tried some of their fries and that seasoning is a game changer. I also got the garlic dip (to eat at home, later, don't worry). I couldn't tell you what that substance is and idk if I even want to know but it is whipped lusciousness. I am also genuinely curious to know how much garlic they put in there because it literally BURNS. No concern for vampires for quite a while. Very tasty, would definitely order again.
