The food is great and well worth what you pay for. We live in Maryland and visited the GreekRave the last time we were here in NYC. We came back to NYC and went there straight from the LIRR to get the Krave lamb, chicken, and rotisserie chicken gyros and they were all delicious. My gyros were freshly made with large chunks of chicken breast, well seasoned rotisserie chicken, and great lamb gyro meats. The owners were friendly and very courteous. The ambiance was very clean with accessible parking. We will be stopping to get more gyros to take back to Maryland. read more

Krave Platter/Pork souvlaki with spinach rice-tender juicy pork, very good. Spinach rice wasn't bad. Greek dumplings- I tried it because while it was not authentic, it sounded unique. It was stupid, it tasted like a ghetto empanada mixed with a lousy dumpling. The inside had no flavor whatsoever. Spanakopita- Meh, tons of philo pastry, not much on the inside. This is the fast-casual restaurant that introduced me to Greek Dumplings. They are the Greek answer to empanadas. Staff informed me that the fried dumplings have a beef and pork filling that is seasoned with Greek flavorings. The appetizer came with a side of chipotle dip but tasted better plain. The dip made the dumplings taste too rich. Maybe some tzatziki sauce would have worked. Next time you are craving some empanadas, consider getting some Greek dumplings. They are Gosh Darn good! I decided to try GreeKrave for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. I had the standard gyro and a fountain drink - the gyro itself was just under $10. The gyro was piled pretty high with lamb, onion and lettuce (I don't eat raw tomato). Vegetables seemed fresh and their gyro meat was tender and also seemed fresh. Pita and tzaziki sauce were pretty standard stuff. One really cool thing - blazing fast service. So, if you want a quick and pretty standard gyro you could do much worse! read more

I had ordered the Lamb / Beef Gyro sandwich, with extra meat. I also decided to get the Krave Sauce, which was a chipotle mayo type sauce, which was delicious. Worst greek place I've ever been to. Seriously what is up with people and low standards these days. See a place with supposedly good reviews only to try it and it's garbage. I've lived less than 2 miles away from Greekrave for over 2 years, and it just occurred to me to go there. An absolute tragedy, because I could rave about Greekrave all day. A cute, small dine-in or take-out restaurant tucked off of Bay Shore Rd, Greekrave has great portions, great service, great prices, and great food. Honey and I split the chicken gyro with souvlaki chicken. We had delicious tzaziki sauce on the side since we are both trying to watch our caloric intake. The gyro came with a side of fries, which we ate and enjoyed in spite of trying to watch our caloric intake. (Don't judge.) I also got a "spinach pie" which is spanikopita and was delicious. It was also unexpectedly huge, while honey got a skewer of souvlaki chicken. Both the skewer and the spanikopita came with a generous side of tzaziki sauce. The sauce was thick, not watery or diluted at all. At one point I turned my sauce cup upside down and it hardly moved. Everything was amazing - he and I definitely both ate more than we wanted to, and we will definitely be eating here again. However, there simply isn't enough filling in the pie - the filling to dough ratio is off, tipped definitively toward the dough side of the spectrum. Pork Souvlaki Stick A skewer of pork chunks cooked in the Greek way. The texture is juicy with a firm yet tender bite, with minimal gristle (I had one small bit as part of one of the pieces). Has a subtle flavor that can be enjoyed with or without the accompanying sauce. Krave Sauce - a creamy dip with a subtle, barely spicy tang. Yia Yia's Pistachio Description as per their menu: "Luscious layers of seasoned ground beef, Greek noodle's and a creamy béchamel sauce baked to perfection. This is Greek comfort food at its finest." A hearty portion that completely fills the take-out tin, it holds together well, with three layers of culinary intrigue. The bottom layer consists of the Greek noodles, which resemble penne shrunk down to 25% the size. The middle layer is seasoned ground beef, which frankly could use more seasoning. Top layer is the béchamel sauce, which has a firm creamy texture with a subtle flavor all its own. When eaten together it's an intriguing combination of textures and flavors, which could be supplemented greatly by a bit more seasoning. Conclusion Greekrave has a spotless interior, and provides good Greek cuisine for a somewhat reasonable price. I will definitely return to sample more of their fare. read more
