You can't go wrong here. I don't eat at very many local eateries simply because most are not that good (to me). Tailgators is one of the exceptions. Kellcey (owner) and Vicki are super cool. My wife and I are regulars here so they know us by name and we're even to the point where I rarely have to say what I want. Unless I decide to throw them a curve ball they already know. If you, your spouse, or someone in your party is a sports fan, they'll enjoy the decor. TV's everywhere always playing some kind of game, lots of Baseball & Football artifacts on the walls, and even pictures of your most well know players heat wrapped around the tables. Where else could you eat off of Buster Posey's face? Lol. The cheeseburger is damn good. Hand rolled and grilled fresh. The Pulled Pork Sliders are another favorite as well as the French Dip. The salad bar is serve yourself and you can go up as much as you want. To finish off your meal, order the Deep Fried Oreos. Yes, you read that right. You're welcome. The only way I could make this place better is by convincing them to take down the Cubs memorabilia and put more Giants memorabilia up. Considering the Owner and her Husband are huge Cubs fans, I don't foresee that happening. Hey, nobody's perfect

When I yelped I found this under bars, but I noticed they serve food also, so we took the plunge. Inside was nice enough...sports bar with TVs and a few good selection of draft beers...Hub got a lager and I got an IPA. I decided to order the Rueben sandwich with fries. This sandwich was solid and tasted pretty good as were the fries that were nice and hot. Hub got the chicken fingers....these were not so good...clearly frozen and almost chicken McNugget like with a lot of filler. I would avoid this particular dish. I saw some other food come out that looked pretty good. I would come here again, maybe try something different. The service was very good.

"OK, what's that tap right there?" "Uh.....(reads tap)....says it's a wheat ale." Sounds good. I'll have a pint o' that, please. I had heard that this place had good pizza and I was looking forward to a personal/small/similar. Looking at the menu, I see there's only one size. "What size is your pizza?" "We just have the one size." "What size is that?" "Uh...I dunno. It's....its a large." "Okay, how big? This big? THIS big?" Shrugs. I ordered some wings. Bartender starts practicing cornhole. My beer runs out. I wait five full minutes, then walk over and ask if I might have another beer. The guy throws one more beanbag and then walks back behind the bar. I ask what my other beer choices are and after he names five kinds and stops talking, I figure that's all. I order. The wings came and they were okay. The extra hot sauce had zero heat, but whatever. Two li'l pieces of celery and one carrot; some canned BC dressing. The barkeep never did come and make sure everything was OK with the order. He spent the remainder of the time looking at his device. I paid my bill and did not leave a tip; no regerts.

A double loses that sweet orange cream flavor so I recommend keeping it a single. Ahi Poke is delicious (make sure you ask for extra won ton chips because you only get three) this is served in a cocktail glass. Expensive for the small portion but tasty. It used to be bigger like nachos but I have not been here in 3 years. Cajun wings consistently delicious and good sized. Awesome ranch. Huge burgers and fun atmosphere. Thank you and I'll be back tomorrow!

Lucky Beaver -- You've Got to Be Kidding Me…read more The food was okay, but apparently getting it to the table is an extreme sport. We waited over an hour for our food. I ordered a simple poke ahi salad with wonton chips -- you know, a cold salad that doesn't exactly require a chef to battle a grill, fryer, or oven. Yet somehow, it was the last thing to arrive. Everyone else had already gotten their wings, steak sandwiches, and fries -- food that actually has to be cooked -- while I sat there wondering if my poke salad was being harvested from the Pacific Ocean one fish at a time. The waitress eventually came over and even seemed surprised when she asked, "You didn't get your poke salad yet?" Nope. Apparently neither did the kitchen, because they seemed to have forgotten it existed. Then, after waiting over an hour, my $22 poke salad finally arrived. We all looked at it and basically had the same reaction: "That's it?" It was served in what looked like a cocktail glass with three wonton chips sticking out of the top. For $22, I expected an actual salad -- not something that looked like it was designed to be displayed behind the bar as a garnish. At that point, everyone else was already finished eating, so I guess my salad was less of a meal and more of a $22 delayed-release appetizer. And let's talk about the drinks. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. Apparently Lucky Beaver has decided their drinks should cost more than drinks in the casino. Maybe the extra money goes toward funding the search party for the missing poke salad. Overall, the food was just okay, but the combination of over an hour waiting, an order that was nearly forgotten, a cold salad somehow arriving last, a laughably small $22 portion, and ridiculously overpriced drinks made this experience pretty disappointing.

There is a sign on the front door that says, "21 and older." Well, I meet that requirement. But, I didn't get in the door for more than 30sec, when a young man that works at the bar, said that I needed ID. I asked him, "Do I look like I am under 21?" He said it didn't matter, that the sign out front says 21 and older, and I need ID to prove it. So I went back to the parking lot to get the ID from my car, and I showed him my ID. I also suggested, in summary, that he might be less curt about compliance. He interrupted me and said that I argued with him when he demanded ID. I tried to remind him that I only asked a question when he demanded ID. It was impossible to have a conversation with him, as it seems like he didn't want to listen, but just bark orders. I made a bee-line to the men's room. As I exited the men's room, and before I could order anything, he tossed me out of the building. Luckily, I took my business elsewhere.

Inside this refurbished old grammar school is an amazing little cafe operated by YTA. I used to come to the cafe when I lived in Yerington and it was under different management. I am so happy to see that the Cafe has been revived under the capable management of Roy Enochson, the Executive Director of YTA. A friend and I decided to have lunch here recently. The Cafe is in the lobby area of the Theater and serves as a place to eat, an art gallery and a boutique for all sorts of arts and crafts most of which are locally made. The space is a bit like being in a favorite Auntie's parlor with little tables, comfy chairs and a visual cornucopia of treasures. My friend ordered the lunch special - butternut squash ravioli with a side salad. I ordered the Cafe Signature Salad - a lovely fresh blend of baby greens, apples, cheese, cranberries, candied walnuts all lightly dressed with a white balsamic vinaigrette. I also had a blood orange Italian Soda. The food was all tasty and fresh. Service was vey friendly, but the food was slow coming out. It was worth the wait. Our total bill for the two of us was under $20. While the portions were not huge, the meal was satisfying and the quality was excellent. This is a definite place to stop if you are in the area. It is a fabulous alternative to the fast food and casino coffee shops that are in the area.
