The restaurant is in a strip mall with ample parking. It's small and cute with a decent amount of seating. We went at lunch time and had 5 lunch specials. We ate 2 there and took 3 home for the rest of the family. We had the Palak Paneer, 2 Chicken Vindaloos, a Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Chicken Korma. The vindaloo was tasty and had a nice kick. The paneer was slightly salty but good. The tikka masala was too creamy for us. It seemed to have too much yogurt, which overpowered the usual tomatoey taste of the sauce. The korma was the standout dish. The restaurant was nicely decorated. And service was excellent. They lunch specials come with rice and naan, and I had to pay a $1extra for a tiny dish of tamarind chutney, but it was worth it. read more

I have been recommended this restaurant and I was happy to finally try them out. No rsvp was needed, seating was available and service was prompt. For appetizers we ordered the Bagari Shrimp, which was delicious but came with 3 shrimps, not the 6 as listed. Also ordered the Tamarind Eggplant Chaat, which was delightfully delicious. I finally found it! I have been looking for great Indian food in west Broward and here it is - Taj Indian Grill located in Cooper City. This is a cozy restaurant with no frills and excellent Indian food. The server was very kind and helped us with our order. We had the plain, butter and garlic naan (all delicious) with mango chutney. We also had butter paneer and tandoori chicken. We ordered the regular portion - which fed us at lunch with enough leftovers for another meal - but they have lunch portions too. Came here on a Friday night for a work dinner. Large group of maybe 12 ppl and everything went super smooth. No problems with individual checks and orders. I don't eat a lot of authentic Indian but this had to be. I got the beef vindaloo, medium spice and a garlic naan, which I debated on and technically told the waiter I was just going to stick to the rice. However, it was brought out and after I confirmed it wasn't someone else's, I just kept it instead of sending back. The curry was a lot spicier than expected so the added carbs didn't hurt to cut the heat. I enjoyed the rice it came with a lot too. My wife got the tandoori chicken which she didn't complain about but I was very disappointed when I tried it. It was super dry, I did not want more than the single piece I took. If it weren't for this, I would say full 4 stars. Cost is more pricy than not cheap, but I think very acceptable and reasonable for specialty cuisine. Service was solid too. We are open to returning and exploring the menu for some other things that might be more suited to our palates. read more

We were seated as soon as we sat down. Our waitress and the manager constantly checked up on us. When we ordered, the food was quick to come out. Every last thing was DELICIOUS! We got the North Indian veggie weekend special, and the chicken tikka masala. Everything was amazing. The flavors were on point! As well as the ambiance; it wasn't too loud and it wasn't too quiet. This is my family and I favorite Indian restaurant. The food you can tell is authentic and fresh. The staff are also very friendly. We usually go for pick up orders and every time I open the door to the restaurant, I am greeted with a warm welcome. The restaurant is small and has a cozy design. My favorite dish is the Paneer Butter Masala. It always taste great. The chef needs a big recognition for his amazing work. The only thing is that you need to make sure you like spicy food. The Mild dish is still spicy. But other than that, you can tell that the food is not preheated and is fresh. This restaurant deserves a 10+ star. I will continue to go with my family. read more

Came here upon suggestion from a dear friend (family of the owners). Hubby and I were craving Indian food and this place hit the spot. It's a great little find in the Miami area (Cooper City). The staff was so welcoming and friendly. We got the beef cutlet & Taj chicken wings as appetizers. The wings were seasoned perfectly! I got the lunch portion of the chicken tikka masala (came with rice and naan). So very good!! Flavored perfectly! Will definitely come back again!! I didn't get to try the naan or the dosa but I hope to come back. My group enjoyed the dinner and the ambiance. The Dosa is a must try! The crepe is very thin and crispy filled with potatoes and the sauces are so tasty. We order the butter chicken, korma lamb, and chicken tandoori. I must saw the korma lamb is my favorite, the cashew sauce is very nice and creamy. The waiters are very fast, they change the plates very quickly after appetizers and refilled the water often. The restaurant is not to big, so for 5 people they added a chair on the side of the booth. It still very spacious for all the food we orderd. This is not your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. Since the owners are from the southern Indian state of Kerala, the Kerala dishes infused with the ubiquitous curry leaf flavor are outstanding, like the Beef Ularthiyathu with the fried coconut pieces and the Beef Cutlets. The non-vegetarian thali available for lunch on weekends, which has beef or chicken, fish, avial, sambar, thoren, pachadi, pappadum, pickle and moru curry and a dessert with red rice and roti is quite sumptuous. The delicately spiced fried snapper and the fish curry are to die for. The vegetable thorens have grated coconut, and the stews have coconut milk, which gives it a unique flavor. The chicken Tikka massala was wonderful however it was very weird the fact that they used sliced chicken for this instead of chunks of chicken. Also for the price that they charge they could easily add more chicken in the dish because at the price it is now and the lack of chicken in the dish, I don't think I will come back again because it is rather expensive for what you get. The Naan bread was good however it was a little too crispy for me, but when I mixed it in with the sauce from my dish, it softened up a bit, making the bread very tasty. However, since it was an extra cost, that is another thing I am not sure I would get again unless it was a one off crispy naan accident. The rice was good and it blended very well with the chicken but it was nothing to write home about. I'm sad when I have to write less than stellar reviews for new businesses but hopefully they read this and can make adjustments to the dishes that me and a few other people have commented on. I may try it again for lunch but I will probably stick to the places I know well and love for their buffets. read more

So glad I finally dined here. I was on the hunt for delicious Indian food and now that I've found this spot, the search is over! We were a party of 3 at dinner. The first thing we noticed was how clean the restaurant was. We were greeted immediately and seated, everyone was friendly to my toddler and made him feel comfortable right away. They even brought him a mango Lassi to try - he loved it. We ordered the chicken korma, butter chicken and garlic naan. Food came out fast and was absolutely mouthwatering delish! What an absolute gem found so close to home! We visited to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, it was quite the delight! From the friendly staff to the clean setting and the even better ambiance to the delicious food, we were all very happy. We ordered the samosas and the masala dosa for our apps, it was very good. I had never had dosa before, but I can't wait to return to have more. For our entrees, we ordered chicken biriyani, lamb biriyani, chicken tandoori, lamb vindaloo and chicken fried rice. You can taste the authenticity in the flavors and spices. Everyone spoke of just how much the really enjoyed the meals. My mother-in-law was worried about the spice level, but they assured that they can cook to order, very accommodating. It is hard to find an Indian restaurant that serves South Indian fare down here in South Florida. When I see dosa or Idli on any kind of many, it's a must have for me! Well the Taj serves up a nice dosa with different variations I had the masala dosa and sambar. My husband had the shrimp vindaloo and roti as the Indo-Chinese staple Gobi Manchurian. No complaints on any of the dishes we tried other than that the sambar was a little thick and maybe Urad forward. The only thing I would like to see when we go back, and we most definitely will, is Sambar and Idli, maybe some Pani Puri and some vada One can hope read more

I am very disappointed with our experience here. We stopped here at a recommendation of a friend before we headed back to Austin, TX and needless to say I personally would not recommend this place to anyone. To start the dishes are extremely overpriced compared to other Indian restaurants and for the quantity and quality of the food received. As a South Indian woman nothing tasted authentic and flavorful. We ordered cutlets for an appetizer and they came out with the center still cold on the inside. That alone should have been a red flag. Then we ordered chicken fried rice, chicken tikka masala, beef fry and paratha. None of the dishes had any flavor and were so bland. Even the tandoori chicken we ordered didn't taste anything like tandoori chicken. We walked out of there with bill over $200 for food that was less than mediocre. I wish I would could zero stars but unfortunately I can't. A word of advice to non Indian people looking for good Indian food, go to places where you will see natives eating there. It should be a sign when in the only people in the restaurant eating are non Indians. Being from Chicago and now Austin, this is one of the worst Indian restaurants I have been to. Okay!!! So I was a little upset when I couldn't find an Indian spot near my house and had to make a 25 min drive just to find one but man was this place worth it! Just by my single visit I could tell that it's a great spot. I was greeted with a warm smile by the staff and I didn't have to wait for my food. They were accurate about when it would be ready and I was satisfied with every dish! I ordered their chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani with the garlic and regular naan and of course, an extra side of raita sauce. I chose medium because I can't really handle super spicy food enough but it was good enough! The chicken was high quality (which I'm super picky about), and I got mild spice which still had great flavor. Garlic naan is always amazing, and theirs was no exception. I ordered for pick-up; I feel like lately the quality of to-go food at restaurants is less than dine-in, but theirs was excellent. My only note is that the chicken-rice ratio could've been better. The butter chicken was deliciously flavorful, with the rice and naan for soaking up the sauce. I didn't love the mango lassi- it was spiced heavier than I prefer. Owner was very much interested to sell everything in the restaurants and charged very highly.
