The Mughal restaurant is located on University in Pembroke Pines. I don't know the difference beteeen Pakistani/bengladesh food to Indian food. But this is Indian food as far as I am concerned. This restaurant has a weekend buffet with nice choices for under $20. All cooked fresh. The only difference is they didn't layout tandoori chicken like other Indian lunch buffets I have been too. Still each dish was delicious with different type of veggies and meats and curries. I originally intended to go to King Dunpling but I walked in to see what they offered and I was hooked. I haven't been to this restaurant in a few years. And my cousin-in-law and I were craving Indian, so we met here for our monthly luncheon. It has a clean and bright dining room that seats at least 50 with a few odd pieces for decor (umbrellas and a spinning disco ball). The restaurant is advertised as Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani. But the cuisine is just what we wanted. There was no lunch menu. So we ordered from the regular offerings. I wanted goat kadhai curry but since there was none listed, I settled for chicken kadhai curry. My cousin-in-law ordered chicken tikka masala. You have a choice of either rice or naan with your meal. We both had rice and got a side order of naan. We ordered mild because of my past experience with the food here being very peppery. We probably could have gone up a level, but the mild was flavorful and had a decent amount of spiciness. Both meals were good and boasted tender and well-seasoned chicken. I thought the kadhai was a bit oily, but it was still tasty. We loved the naan, especially dipped in the tamarind chutney that I requested. During the two hours that we dined, we were the only ones in the restaurant, so service was quick and attentive. Our meal was about $22 each including tax and tip. I love Indian food and I was looking for a local spot not too far from home. So I decided to check this restaurant and order for delivery. Food arrived fairly quickly and properly packed. Butter Chicken w rice was ok, not spicy at all and container had plenty chicken. Lamb Rogan Josh w rice was not my favorite (and this is what i always order) there was barely any lamb in the container about 3 pieces, not spicy at all and the sauce seemed very oily. came in on a random day for lunch as I was looking for Indian food. Came in and the owner was very happy to see us and gave us a lunch menu with $9.99 lunch special. He was extremely accommodating and willing to customize our lunches. he even gave us a free sample of his Naan. he also very politely let us know this was a Pakistani restaurant not Indian and explain the difference between Pakistani and Indian food. apparently a big difference is between using tomato purée versus fresh tomatoes. I was craving Indian food. The nearest destination for Indian food for where I was located at the time brought me here. his is quite a large restaurant. The service was pleasant and prompt (mind you I was the only customer until three other ladies arrived) I ordered my "go to" Indian dish that I always order especially on a first visit, which helps me gage whether I visit again. I use this as a comparison. The food came out piping hot. What stood out as different for me - you have a choice either a naan bread OR rice with your main. I choose the naan bread. In most Indian establishments you get the main with the rice included and then if you want a naan, this is an extra charge. The naan was evidently freshly made - which I appreciated, but it lacked flavour. The chicken tikka was pleasant, but I have had better. Overall verdict - I would not go out of my way to return but I would not avoid either. read more

This restaurant is a Indo/Paki restaurant. It's located in Pembroke Pines. Absolutely loved there food. The restaurant itself, is quite spacious and can accommodate large reservations. Our server was, very knowledgeable about the dishes (however) almost everything dish that I wanted was unavailable. So I decided to go with the basic, Veggie meals are always the best. We had vegetable Pakora, Chaat, Veggie Samosas. For our meal I ordered shareable items like the Palak paneer, Malai Kofta and Bhaigan and like with all Indian meals, Naan bread is a must. I recommend calling ahead, if you have a large party of 10 or more to make sure they can accommodate you. Overall I would revisit this restaurant, thank you again for a lovely meal. read more

Ordered chicken briyani and chicken vindaloo and recieved this ridiculous mess (see photo). All I know is this is not either of the items I was expecting. Hello so I've passed by this place MANY times and always wanted to try it and now imma try it I'm getting 1 garlic naan and 1 butter naan I'm not in the mood for a big meal im not sure if the naan comes with 2 or 1 in a single order but we'll see I'm placing the ordering now the totals gonna be 11.08 so I'm going to leave a 3.40 tip so the total is 14.48 and the standard time says about 16-26 minutes ordered placed as of 4:27 now we wait I'm so excited I had rotti or naan once on a cruise ship a while ago it was delicious I'm so excited to try the ETA is 4:44 to 4:54 Mughal restaurant just confirmed the order at 4:29 eta is now 4:54-5:04,no driver yet as of 4:37 :( yay I got my driver Meko as of 4:40 a very interesting name in so excited ETA is now 4:57-5:03 he's on his way now at 4:43 arriving on time within the ETA YAY! The place has changed from the last time I was here. I came on a Thursday night around eight. There where around sixteen people and one very nice waiter. He was struggling. The wait was a little long for everything. The service and place was diferent. I asked the waiter if they had changed owners and he said yes. They used to have this crunchy things on the table that where really good, no more. The food is still absolutely delicious. I had the butter chicken and loved it. The sauce was delicious. I had it before here and loved it. This time it was more spicy then before but I still love it. The mix of flavors and how well they danced together was a magical experience. The chef really did a good job. I would suggest to visit the place in the weekend better, maybe it would be a better experience. read more

Indian buffets can be hit or miss. I pretty much always order the same items at Indian restaurants so every now and then I enjoy hitting up an Indian lunch buffet to try new items. The Mughal is located in a newly renovated plaza on University Drive. We arrived at about 2:30pm for a late lunch and there were a couple of other occupied tables. The customers kept coming in and by the time we left the place was almost full. The items at the buffet looked like they were made in fairly small batches and I saw them being continually replaced. There were a ton of dishes to choose from. I don't remember the names of most of the dishes but I tried tiny bites of many of them. There were several chicken dishes, beef, goat, lentils, and eggplant. One of our favorites was spicy chicken dish that kind of tasted like buffalo chicken nuggets (minus the breading). The Butter Chicken was very good and I loved the eggplant. The staff was very sweet. They asked if everything was okay several times. They brought fresh Naan and beverages to the table. The weekend buffet is $13.95. I believe it's less during the week. Good value and food...definitely a place I would return to. read more

A very unassuming looking place conveniently located just off University. The menu appears very limited, but the chef can make pretty much any standard dish that may not appear on the menu. I chose the Karachi chicken-Indian hot!...this came with the choice of rice or a naan. The portion size was decent.The chicken pieces were on-the-bone which does make for a less dry and more tasty meal although this may be less appealing to those are accustomed to just boneless white meat. The star however was the sauce...intensely delicious and obviously made fresh with with easily identifiable bits of ginger, cardamom and other aromatic spices. Maybe a little heavy on the ghee, but still delicious. I have eaten at indian restaurants all over South Florida as well as all over England , Scotland, Germany, Amsterdam, Paris etc. And I can honestly say that this is the best Indian food I have had in a LONG time, and certainly better than any I have had before in Pembroke Pines. and FLL. I will definitely return, and bring friends and family with me....which I could not say about the other local places I have been to in the last few years. read more

Ordered Halwa Poori breakfast from this resturant 2 years ago and was delivered ONLY halwa and 2 pooris, no chick peas curry or anything and was told thats how its served. Fast forward today after more than 2 years ago, needed to get some desi style vegetable fried rice and decided to give them a try thinking hopefully things have improved. This is "their version" of vegetable fried rice !!! When I asked the receptionist (who had also taken my order over the phone) this doesnt look like vegetable fried rice, he replies : This is how customers ask us to give them separately, if you want I can have them mix it for you. Im seriously concerned about the owners who probably dont even know how the show is being run. They seriously need to train employees and have knowledge about desi menus ! Lately I've been craving some Indian food and was excited to find lunch buffet in the area. I immediately told my husband that we HAD to go. Upon arrival around 12pm we found ourselves the only ones in the restaurant. The host advised we could sit anywhere. I was a little confused when I didn't see the hot bar set up with meals. We asked about the buffet and they said that they only serve the buffet on the weekends. I think it's time to update the website, yelp, and google with that info. I guess I should have called to confirm also. We stayed and ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and two naans. I don't know if it's because we were starving but both meals were delicious. Both stews were nice and creamy. We asked for the tikka masala to be medium spicy and we found that it wasn't spicy at all so we will likely get hot next time. The naan was humongous, like bigger than your head humongous! We would've been fine with just one. I'd say we'd come back and try the buffet but we will also order takeout. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I went today to check this place out, and had their buffet for lunch. To begin with, most Indian restaurants that have buffets only have a very small amount of dishes on their buffet, I was surprised to see how many dishes they actually had. My favorites were the butter chicken, the samosas and a beef dish that was so tender you can cut it with a fork. The naan bread they served with it was some best naan bread I've ever eaten. So pillowy soft. I am not a big fan of buffets usually but I do enjoy buffets from Indian restaurants and this is definitely one of the best that I've tried in the area. It was so reasonable at only $10.99 a person. When we were leaving our server told us we should come back on the weekends because they have an even larger buffet with more dishes! The only reason it didn't get five stars is because some of the dishes weren't very hot but that could also be because we got there right when they opened and perhaps they hadn't had a chance to heat up enough, and also because our dirty dishes weren't cleared off the table and I had to flag our server down to get refills on our water. We did find out later that our server is normally onr of the chefs but he was trying to help out because the server called out of work, so that definitely explained the dishes and water situation. If youre a fan of Indian food and want the opportunity to try bunch of different dishes at once, you should definitely go check out their buffet. read more

Had to ask server for basic items like chutney, bread and water many times across twenty minutes before we could even begin. All curries cold. There was the option to order off the menu or dine from the $19.99 buffet. My party chose to eat from the buffet - personally I love Indian food and I have a hard time choosing an entree, so I love the option of sampling many dishes. They had chicken biryani, palak paneer, butter chicken, jasmine rice, vegetable samosas, chana masala, dal tadka and a mixed vegetable dish (cannot recall the name). The butter chicken was unusually sweet - the meat was tender but I didn't find the spicing quite right. I couldn't get past the greasiness of the samosas. The palak paneer was good, but again seemed to lack spices. The mixed vegetables had good flavor but were well over cooked. Rice was on point. I was thrilled with the delicious basket of homemade naan that was delivered to our table! Overall the food was OK, but it just seemed the chef was light handed with spices. The first time I went, I raved about the lamb to the chef. In the past 2 years we have mostly ordered in, and the food has always been good (not great), which may be due to transporting home, containers etc.. We ordered Samosa Chaat & Gobi Manchurian which were both delicious, Tandoori Chicken boneless, fantastic! flavorful & not dried out.. just yummy! We had Chicken Tikka Masala which was excellent & a Curry chicken which was very tasty. We also ordered Chana Masala which was okay, not great. Special Mention for the Naan bread, 1 butter, 1 garlic which might be the best Naan I've ever had, big fluffy & crispy, warm.. just delicious! The waiter was very pleasant, he did ask us how spicy we like our dishes. I would say they probably need a little more staff upfront, our waiter seemed to be the only one in the front of the house. When we walked in there were a few dirty tables, which wasn't great to see. They had a nice crowd, & even someone picking up for a party ( food going out looked amazing) The only other thing I'd mention, the buffet. The food they did offer in the buffet looked very good, but there were not a lot of options. Maybe a choice of 5 items total. I know the buffet only came back a little while ago ( due to covid) but I am hoping at some point they add a few more items. We were a party of 4 and a couple of us were going to do buffet but changed our minds when we saw the limited selection. Our dinner was so delicious, we all can't wait to go back. Found this little gem through a google search. Must try if you enjoy good Indian cuisine. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Just enough spice where needed.
