This place seriously exceeded my expectations! A.Y.C.E. Mediterranean Buffet is one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel like you're getting your money's worth. I went during lunch, and the price was only $20.80 for all-you-can-eat -- which honestly makes this place even better! First of all, the place is super clean. The buffet area is well organized, everything looks fresh, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was great, and for this price, you get an impressive amount of variety. I've been trying to take better care of myself and be more mindful about what I eat lately, so this place is perfect for me. There are SO many options -- grilled meats, salads, veggies, rice, hummus, tabbouleh, and tons of Mediterranean dishes. Whether you want to keep it light, load up on veggies and protein, or go all out, you will NOT run out of options here! And the star of the show for me? The lamb! Lamb is one of my favorites, and they did it really well. Tender, flavorful, and most importantly, no gamey smell or taste at all. That's a BIG win for me! They also have grilled dishes, hot foods, pizza, breads, salads, dips, and plenty more. There's seriously something for everyone. The only picture I have is of an empty plate, and honestly, that should tell you everything you need to know. The food was so good that taking pictures completely slipped my mind! We visited Chickpeas at Rainbow & Sahara, and this location is definitely bigger and better. There's tons of seating and a huge variety of food to choose from. They have cold shrimp cocktail, chilled grilled vegetables, several different salads--including a really good surimi salad--and plenty of hot options. The chicken kabobs were delicious, and they even had goat shanks! The service was excellent, too. Our table stayed squeaky clean, drink refills kept coming, and the staff was constantly checking on us. They even brought food directly to our table, which was such a nice touch. And save room for dessert! There's ice cream, pastries, fresh fruit, and, of course, baklava. This has officially become our new favorite spot for Mediterranean food. We especially enjoyed being able to sample so many different Mediterranean flavors in one visit. The food was flavorful and there was definitely plenty to choose from. We also thought the AYCE concept offered good value for the price. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. This place has been on the list for ages, pass by at least twice a week. Well the pita lined up and the hummus was calling so we stopped in for lunch... probably around 11:30. (They open at 10:00). Chatted with the gentleman at the counter and he rang up our buffets.. $20.00 and change, drinks included. Interesting that they ring u up first , guess that prevents people from dodging the check. Seated at a nice four top. The interior reminds me more of like a night club with the furniture, couches, big TV. Chairs are sturdy covered with plastic like at grandmas house. On to the food, there is a pretty nice salad area off to one side, hummus, tzatziki , tabouli, lettuce, dolma (mushy) , beets, peppers, capers, olives (not Kalamata) and a platter of shrimp, etc. Moving on to the hot line, pretty impressive selection of rice, falafel (sadly dry) gyro bites, pita (dry) several types of kabobs (pretty tasty) soups, lentils and I think the hit of the line the lamb shanks (one to a customer) . Moving over past the line is the dessert section , madeline's, baklava fruit and cakes. After we were full, they brought out trays of bruschetta, lasagna and cold veggies like eggplant and potatoes . (Just be aware that the lasagna trays were not totally under the sneeze guards and the cold veggies were out in sheet pans over , but not the ice and no sneeze guards. Oh and the had a soft serv ice cream machine, but the cones sweet stack and exposed without a cover of some sort. So we tried pretty much most items.. the hits were the lamb kabob, the salad items and veggies. Things like the falafel were a bit dry (almost impossible to keep them moist in a buffet setting) . We didn't try the lasagna or cold veggies as we were full by the time they came out. If we come back, we'll come later. Service was pretty informal, the gentleman who checked us in came around and checked and he was the one who removed plates and brought drinks. Interesting decorations , for example there were several samovars in around the dining room and entrance. Well when I think samovars, I guess I think Russia, Central Europe and maybe Iran , but not Mediterranean countries. I mean they looked nice and all, but just a bit out of place. Also the large statute of Siddhartha (Buddha) was nice and kind of worked atmosphere wise . All in all, definitely worth the cost of admission. Will we return? Probably at some point. This place is amazing! I love Mediterranean food. For what you would spend for one plate at other places, you can have an all you can eat buffet. We went there for Father's Day. The food was okay, I felt like most things were bland and needed seasoning, or sauce. They have salt and pepper on every table so you can season to taste. The location is fairly close to the strip. The food was incredible, very flavorful compared to another chickpeas location(same name but not associated with each other), service was decent but he was short staffed, he had metioned the other staff whom was supposed to be the host, didn't show up. We definitely will be returning! We like to try new places, so we stopped at the one on Rainbow. I was a little nervous when we first arrived as we were the only ones there, but it slowly filled up. I had such a great experience at Chickpeas Mediterranean Cafe. The gentleman working there was incredibly kind and welcoming. He checked on us often, asked if we were happy or needed anything else, brought us drinks, and truly made us feel appreciated for coming in. That kind of genuine hospitality is such a nice change compared to most restaurants. The place was also exceptionally clean. They wiped down countertops as soon as they got dirty and picked up dishes quickly, which made the whole restaurant feel fresh and well cared for. But let's talk about the food--when I found out about an all-you-can-eat Mediterranean buffet, I knew I had to try it, and my heart was so happy. There were plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. Everything I had was wonderful--from the tabbouleh salad, hummus, kebabs, and butter chicken to all the little extras in between. You can bring the whole family. The kebabs are sooo good, the chicken, beef and mostly the lamb. They have good hummus too. Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday after church and we really had a great time here. The dining room is very spacious, modern and classy dining tables and chairs. A.Y.C.E Mediterranean is the way to go! 90 Minute Time Limit Per Table. We were pleased of the selection of many fresh items to choose from. Starting with the Salad Bar, Appetizer Station, Pizza Bar, Main Entree's Bar, Desert Bar and even a Soft Serve Bar. There is also a sauce station. The staff kept the buffet stations clean and full of delicious food. The staff were awesome with drink refills and clearing out the dishes for us. One staff member in particular I think his name was Mike, he was awesome. They serve drinks and a variety of hot teas. We liked the Chai Tea served in a small glass tea cup and a small glass plate. I had a lot of faves they were the chicken koobideh, beef koobideh, the baked fish, the salad bar, butter chicken, the turkey croissant roll up and the fresh fruits that were available. Had seen this place on YouTube, and wanted to try it in person. So, I brought a few of my entourage (visitors from out of the country) to come and tasted by ourselves. We were there around 2:00 PM right after lunch crowd, I presumed. Alas, not all the trays were filled with food; like the ones saw on YouTube! Meats dishes looked old and sorry looking. A lot of stuffs were missing. Pizzas were cold. But, the staffs were very friendly and very helpful. They came and asked to microwave the slices of pizza. The soft drink were flat. It would have been very refreshing to drink the bubbly kola drink while the weather was dried and balming outside. We were very disappointed and I had to apologize our out-of-country-visitors for the non-fresh food. To add insult to injury, fruits and sweets displayed were stuffed with items as old looking as the main dishes. I wanted to give positive five star rating and support the local business, but the business should do its part to sustain its regular customers and attract more new customers with better quality control planing. Perhaps I went on an off day, because the food was not nearly as 4-5 stars as in other reviews. I went on a Fri afternoon with just a couple tables of diners. Service was fine, no complaints. Free drinks are ordered as there is no self serve machine or station. I got the iced tea which was good, unsweetened (or maybe very lightly sweetened). Mains: Everything was overcooked. The bbq chicken was the driest piece of chicken I've ever had. I could barely even cut into it with my knife. The mussels were burnt to a crisp. The shell breaks apart like a potato chip and the meat was like trying to bite into a rubber ball. Falafel was dry and had to be rescued with gulps of iced tea. Even the butter chicken was dry despite being drenched in sauce. To be fair, I had a fresher piece a couple rounds later and the second time was much improved. They use tandori chicken to add some good flavor. Fish filet was dry and overcooked, and the octopus dish was tough and rubbery. The kabobs were super oily and bland. A few good notes, the black veggie squares were surprisingly good. No idea what they're called, but despite its ominious visual, definitely give that a try. The lamb shank was braised very well with the meat juicy and falling off the bone tender. It could use more seasoning though. The salad bar was very fresh and refreshing. The antipasta olives and hard cheese were on point. Shrimp cocktail was fresh and snappy. The cocktail sauce was more ketchupy than tomatoey if that's your thing. Dolma was ok, and there's one very garlicy salad/spread that was a bit too much for me, but if you love garlic, you'll be pleased. Desserts were easily the best part of the meal. Flaky baklava with the bottom layers soaked in sweet syrup. Get the lemon cake, so zesty and moist. Red velvet cake had a nice thick layer of cream cheese frosting on top. The apple pie cake was good as well, not too sweet with a nice apple crumble on top. Not something you see offered at many buffets. Even considering the cheap price, I couldn't justify the food quality. The main dishes has to at least be edible. read more
