I really wanted to write a good review. The guys were friendly and they gave me a bottle of cold water but then they insisted that my car had no coolant left, only water and that it needed to be changed out. They scared me saying that it could burn my engine. I felt the feedback was off, as I have never had to add coolant or change coolant on a car with 36,000 miles. Afterwards I spoke with Genesis (I have a GV70) and they said absolutely not. My car was at the dealership for the previous oil change and the coolant was nowhere in need of anything nor anytime soon. I was scammed out of $120. Would they have done that to a man? Did oil change on my truck when i parked my truck let it run for a while the motor started shaking

So took my new car in for its first oil change. Everything was fine until the tech closed my hood with the prop rod still up. Folded it over and damaged the inside of the hood. He quickly tried to bend it without me seeing. Well I did see. Got out and talked to the supposed manager Kylethe same guy that damaged my car. He took photos and assured me they would contact me. I have called multiple times and got no answers. Drove to store and the new staff said they transferred everyone to Plano. And told me to drive there. Well that's not happening. So he finally reviewed the footage and supposedly forwarded the information to the new district manager. Said the old one was fired. Well 2 weeks more and nothing. They are literally avoiding the situation. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM. THEY ARE NOT A BBB ACCREDITED BUSINESS. READ THE REVIEWS ON THE BBB WEBSITE. Always the same story. Lawsuit incoming. I went to get my oil changed today an had a great experience. Joel was very helpful, brought a cold bottle of water to my car an explained every step he was taking. I ended up having to have my air filter an wiper blades replaced lol but I really enjoyed the quick service. Plus I stayed in my car an I did not have to be elevated while being in my car. I have been to a few shops that let you sit in your car but will put your car up in the air. Plus I get to scan this code to see if I get a free car wash lol read more

I have used this place for several years. After today's ordeal, I will never go back. They are currently running a 25% off special on the oil changes and it is extremely difficult to see the top of the sign works for Uber drivers only. The oil change that I got for my car was just under $100. Scotty, the gentleman helping me even mentioned it to someone else that it was confusing. His rude comment of "sometimes things are confusing" is what made my decision to no longer go there. David was so helpful and attentive. Although, I felt so bad that he was the only one doing work. He was bouncing back and forth between two vehicles while a woman with green hair, I believe her name is Tommi, was marching around with a clipboard doing nothing. Every time someone would look over to her direction, she would flock to a computer and act like she was working. However, David was sweating his butt off and still getting work done. I went in to get topped off and the attendant checked my oil and told me it was fine - I didn't need a top off. My oil light was on but I wasn't yet due for a change. I went to a different location and this attendant told me I was dangerously low. Not sure if the first guy was lazy or just didn't know how to read a dipstick. This location is a joke. Don't waste your time. There are several reasons why I am posting this review. First and foremost, I just had a very expensive car repair due to oil leaking into my rear differential. This repair, according to my mechanic, would've been avoided if I had a responsible person changing my oil. When he asked who has been replacing my oil he laughed, and then showed me several cars he recently had to fix due to negligence on take 5s' "oil changes." Secondly I have been to this location (before I knew of how they half-a** an oil change) and their "system is down." I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but their system always seems to be down when I arrive around 6:00 - an hour before they close. M I felt the need to post this review because the negligence (according to my mechanic) would've saved me thousands but the staff at this location failed to notify me of anything other than my dirty air filter. If you want a legitimate oil change go elsewhere, even if it costs an extra $20. Update: I went back the next day to have an inspection done and they didn't have an inspector on staff. I don't care if you're short staffed; don't advertise state inspections if you don't have an employee on staff during business hours read more

I just got my oil changed at the take 5 in Dallas, TX on Plano Rd and Walnut Hill Ln. after waiting an hour and a half to get serviced, they finally started working on my car. The male worker asked if I wanted to change a filter in my car and I politely declined. He stressed he thought it would be a good idea and I still declined as I planned to get my car serviced elsewhere and just needed an oil change. He then proceeded to show the female coworker my filter and said how he couldn't believe I wouldn't replace the filter and the female coworker replied "you can't fix stupid" referring to me. Was needing an oil change badly however I only have Sundays off and thankfully they are open on Sundays! Despite there being a few cars ahead of me they got to my service fairly quick. Chuck was extremely helpful in helping me decided what was the option for my car and even discussed the different deals they had going on. I have used this service before and they were always professional and performed the service with the highest quality. Well, that had changed today at noon 11/20/20.One the persons that works there was not wearing a mask the whole time i was awaiting service, so i rolled up my windows to avoid any contact with this individual. When it was time to service my car, he demanded i rolled down the window to which i said no since he was not wearing a mask. On June xx my wife took her Toyota Avalon to Take5 store 1234 at Walnut Hill and Plano Rd. for an oil and filter change. I told her we use 10w 40 full synthetic in this car. As they started servicing the car she relayed her request for the specific oil we use. The "grease monkey" there testily told her that was the wrong oil for the car and would "ruin the engine". When she said she would leave he informed her they had already drained the car. He then filled the car with 0W 20 synthetic which I consider suboptimal for Texas very hot summers, idling in traffic with A/C running. When she returned home and told me this I sent them a complaint on the email address on their website. I asked that they call my wife, apologize, and ask her to return to have the requested oil installed. To date, not a word of reply, not even go to hell. They may never know why they lost a customer, but now we know! read more

I'm giving the two stars because they were very friendly. Other than that, I didn't have a positive experience. First, if you don't have a bunch of extra time on your hands, I probably wouldn't come here. It took about 45 minutes from the time I entered the bay for them to start the oil change. I get it was a Monday morning, but based on the other reviews, I was a little surprised. Second, part of what took so long was an apparent issue getting the oil bolt back on. I could hear there was an issue, and so I asked about it. The lady said I should probably get a new bolt and washer from the dealer before my next oil change. What that says to me is that they stripped the bolt out, even if they weren't going to say that part out loud. This is the first time I've had this vehicle serviced outside of the dealership, so I'm confident there was no pre-existing issues. So now I'm concerned that there's an issue where there wasn't one before. It's unlikely I will use this location or even this company again in the future. I've came twice for inspection and the first time a man told me I needed all my brake lights replaced but I knew they worked perfectly fine so I had my dad drive up there to see if that was really the issue and he was super rude didn't even want to speak to us so I went to another location and I went today again and I waited nearly 25-30 mins so instead I went to another location once again. I went by to have an oil change and a state inspection only to be told that it would be about an hour to get to my vehicle. I noticed that there were about four workers not including the person that came out to tell me it would be an hour. This is the second time that this has happened. The previous time I showed up about 20 minutes before closing and the manager said to come tomorrow because they were closing. There were 3 workers not doing anything.
