I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Take 5. First, the staff Shun is unprofessional ,dishonest and outright rude. Customer service clearly isn't a priority here. They also advertise a free top-off service, but when you actually try to use it, they suddenly have excuses. I was told my vehicle "didn't need" a top-off, even though that's not the point of offering a complimentary service. On another visit, they claimed I had missed my top-off appointment -- which was completely untrue, and I had not even reached the mileage limit yet ,and the staff tried to get to pay for an oil change even though he had just told me that I did not need a tap off because my oil was still full. Found this location through yelp and was skeptical bc of the reviews but tried it anyway. So I did liked that you can stay in the car, what I didn't like is that they are not really female friendly an employee walked to my car as another person as getting my details and said unlock the passenger, without any explanation.. the look I gave was enough for the person who was taking down my info to ask if I was ok? I told him that that guy asked to unlock my passenger door wondering why? He did explain that he was going to check my internal filter. What would have been nice of they explained that instead of just asking to unlock the door. Also the price for the service was a one time deal meaning this was my first and last time going. The wait time was ridiculous!!! I pull up to a bay and they told me it first priority for whoever was there first. They asked me to move to bay 3. Even though I was at bay 1. Another car comes in and they popped the hood of the car and was about to change their oil. I asked how long it would take to be seen, one guy said at least another 30 minutes. They basically ignored that my car needed service and did what they wanted to do!! I left. Took my business elsewhere, I was in line 20 minutes or more and was in the bay longer than that. BUYER BEWARE: I went to Take 5 Oil Change for my usual $90 oil change on my 2022 GMC Terrain. The service itself seemed fine at first, but shortly after, I began noticing a strong gasoline smell inside my vehicle. At first, I assumed it came from other cars or fuel tracked in from a gas station. However, after about a month of continued smell, I decided to have my dealership perform a diagnostic test under warranty to find the cause. The dealership found that the dipstick had not been pushed in completely during my oil change at Take 5. This caused the gasoline odor and led to the loss of about a quarter of my oil, which they had to clean and replace. Thankfully, there was no major engine damage. When I called Take 5, the staff member I spoke to admitted this had happened before and said they would involve the general manager, Ben. However, when I spoke with Ben, he immediately blamed the issue on the dealership, even though the gas smell started well before that visit. After I corrected him, he backtracked but still refused to take responsibility or offer any meaningful resolution. He also would not provide corporate contact information or refund the diagnostic fee I had to pay because of their mistake. I'm still waiting to hear back from corporate, as Ben said he would forward my information. This experience has made me lose confidence in Take 5's service quality and customer care. I hope they review their training and accountability process so other customers don't have to deal with unnecessary costs or safety concerns due to improper service. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change today. One of the technicians (I think her name was Briana, maybe) wanted to take a look at my cabin air filter, which you have to access by taking out the glove box. She clearly was not sure how to do it, but got it off and the air filter did not need to be replaced. Then she had no idea how to put the glove box back on (or maybe she broke it). She had her other associate Quan try also and he could not get it on either. After a long time, he told me I had to go to a repair shop in Palos Heights to get it repaired. There would be no discount on the oil change. I would have to pay out of pocket for the repair, but I could come back to Take 5 to be reimbursed. After complaining, he offered half off my next oil change, to which I responded I would not be coming back so that is not helpful. He still did not offer anything else. He told me he talked to the shop in Palos and they would be expecting me and they wouldn't charge me. When I got to the shop in Palos, the manager said Take 5 had not called and he did not know why Take 5 refers people to them. They have no affiliation and it is not the first time they have done that. Luckily the shop in Palos (Top Notch) was great and they helped me out even though they were busy and had no open appointments. I will not be going back to Take 5. Poor service and terrible customer service. Icing on the cake, my washer fluid was out and they said they couldn't fill it because their machine wasn't working right, but I could go buy some and they would put it in for me. Again, no discount. This time no weed smell just loud adult only music I mean as gutter as you could imagine. After 10 min they get around to me the guy tells me they put the wrong oil filter in my car last time I was there. Extremely horrible. From the staff to their service I'm not too sure if they know what their doing. I went to get an oil change and about a few hours later I'm in the express way and I suddenly hear this noise coming from my car. I thought I was dragging something but I hadn't run over anything. My car was scrapping the ground so I had to ride all the way back to 95th in Oak Lawn and I was on 63rd. LIVID!!! I had to ride all the way back with my car making this noise everyone is looking at me! I'm just embarassed at this point. So I get there and the man tells me oh he didn't screw it on back no accountability from the staff or anyone! Just a bunch of dumbass collecting a paycheck! Terrible. Since this was a new business in town, we decided to try it soon after it opened. We use Mobile1 oil, with Valvoline as a backup, always in individual quarts. When my wife drove in and asked for the oil brand options, the tech told her "don't worry, they're all the same, we will put in the right stuff." She reluctantly agreed - and at the end they could not tell her what kind of full synthetic they put in. Upon arriving home, we saw drips of oil coming from the engine area. We moved the car a few feet and each time, we saw more oil leaking. We took the car back to this establishment the next day and were told "Oh, sorry, we forgot to wipe down the bottom of your car." The tech then worked on in for a while, conveniently right where the oil filter should have been tightened, and then told us that "they wiped it down, you're good now. No, no oil leaked out, it was on the outside of your engine." However these guys are doing oil changes, saying that the bottom of the engine gets caked with oil during the service can't be a good sign. And tightening/resealing the filter is an easy fix - just tell the customers you messed up and make it right. But for a higher cost than the competitors, and using what we learned later is Castrol GTX synthetic oil, we would never go back. Planning to share with everyone that we can that they treat women differently ("all oil is the same, don't worry") and lying to customers when their car leaks oil after service is a terrible start to this location's time in this area. read more

I wish I could give them no stars the manager Ozzie is a terrible individual the rest of the techs are good I only went because I saw that it was new n I needed a oil change usually I go to pennzoil anyway the next day after they changed my oil I notice my the undercarriage thing was hanging so I went back they fixed it mind you it wasn't hanging when I brought the car an after they gave me a fifty percent off coupon and the manager Brian I think that's his name apologized ok we honest mistake so I just went back last week the guy asked me why did I receive the coupon I told him because they secure the undercarriage cover he turned around and said hey she has a fifty percent off coupon because we didn't secure her skid plate make sure we do a good job this time THE NEXT DAY ITS HANGING smdh so I went back and thats when the manager Ozzie was there he told me it wasn't his staff that did this didn't apologize or nothing made me feel like I was lying or somehow it was my fault so I told him if the screwed was striped or whatever why wasn't it told to me when I first came here he didn't say nothing he did fix it but he had a attitude as he was fixing it he was cursing loud they staffed all looked around me and my son was like what's going on I have another fifty percent off coupon but it's not even worth me going back so back pennzoil I go read more
