For some reason this says I'm from N. Charleston or that this was in N. Charelston, but it was in Atascocita, TX. Anyway... I came on Saturday and sat in the unmoving line for an hour before I bailed. I figured "eh, it's the weekend and everyone had the same idea as me - I get it. So I'm here on a Tuesday morning. Line is much shorter but still 2 deep in each stall. There are four guys working today and they seem to be all just walking in circles but not actually doing anything. I came for an inspection with one vehicle in front of me. 45 mins later (never saw them do anything to the truck in front of me. (Oil change I guess?) I finally pulled into the stall and was immediately asked about what oil I wanted. . The guy was like "bro, this is an inspection, WTH!?" This is also the guy that asked me why I was here when I pulled up so....not sure who he was yelling at. Anyway, it's now been 20 mins since I was asked to get out of the truck and go wait in the office. Still the same circle-walking. (Also, I'm now standing out front because something died in that office.) Since my normal mechanic shop stopped doing inspections because it was "no longer worth it", I had to come to this place. Never again. I'll spend the next year finding a better place and tell everyone I know not to come here. I'm at 1:10mins as of this writing. Someone shoot me please. Don't get me wrong. I had to take my truck to the dealership because of an leak, only to discover it was caused by Take 5 not performing the service I paid for properly. I was charged $112 to fix an issue that should never have happened in the first place. At first, I didn't think the leak was from the oil, since Take 5 supposedly has staff who double-check everything to ensure the job is done right. Turns out, it was the oil after all. To make things worse, Take 5 is now refusing to cover the repair costs. Imagine if I hadn't caught the leak in time--my engine could have run out of oil and completely blown. Would they refuse to take responsibility for that too? Overall, I'm extremely disappointed that Take 5 won't stand behind their mistake or reimburse me for a service they failed to do correctly. read more

Not a quick service...don't even be fooled by the slogan. You will definitely be waiting atleast 20 minutes so staying in your car or not... the whole 5 minute oil change is very outdated and untrue. Any oil changing facility now-a-days, post covid, allows you to stay in your vehicle to get your vehicle's tires changed, rotated, or oil changed. The price is crazy too to the point you are 100% better off going to your dealership and getting your oil changed there. I wouldn't recommend this place; do your own research though. read more

This is the only place to go to in Atascocita for an oil change. Because of COVID, now they have you wait inside your car, but they have fans blowing on the cars and personally I like this better than waiting inside (where they always have HGTV on the television). The technicians explain EVERYTHING to you, and managers come to check on you to be sure you are satisfied. They do not try to convince you that everything is dirty and needs replacing (good thing, because the price of replacement windshield wipers is pricey!) This place is fast, affordable, and nice. Went in to get an inspection. My car is about a year old with new wipers that I got back in February. They touched all my wipers and then told me I failed my inspection due to smudging. They said "the wipers are looking fine on the inside but if you look outside you can see a smudge." This makes no sense. If I have visibility, the wipers are new and there was no actual smudging clearly they were trying to extort me into buying wipers for 30 dollars each. They even tried to force me to buy my back window wipers. So here I am, out 30 bucks complaining on yelp. i have contacted their corporate office via email, text and phone and have yet to hear a response. Awful company. Please stay away. read more

Neutral review. This wasn't a bad place for a quick oil change but I paid $130 for a high mileage synthetic oil and new filter. That's very pricey. The cost is a problem. The service isn't bad they attend to you in the order of cars in front of you. There's never a wonder what they're doing to your vehicle because they show you the oil stick, show you the old filter and explain what they did at the end. I've been in to Take 5 twice in the last month now (first for an oil change) & the second time for my vehicle inspection to renew my registration. I normally go to Walmart for oil changes but since COVID, they shut down their auto service center. A good friend of mine quickly recommended Take 5 to me & I have no regrets! They are 100% awesome! Service is very quick & all of the staff I've interacted with are very courteous. I'll continue coming here even after Walmart reopens their shop (who knows when that will be). read more

I've been coming here for 2 years. I used to love it. They were all So friendly. Especially this one super dope chick, I think she might have been the manager? I dunno- she was short, super cute and Mexican, maybe? (If you see this and you're not Mexican, apologies) just trying to describe so ppl know who I'm talking about so everyone can see that ever since she left, I've either had OK experiences or complete sh*t show experiences. One time I came for an Oil change and they asked if I wanted to replace the filter too. I said yes. So they charged me for it and then told me they were out of the filter my car needed. In the process or trying to refund the filter they accidentally charged me twice and even tho they refunded it on their end, I didn't get my money back for 3 days and as a result it put me in a really tough place, financially. Ya girl is ballin on a budget, mkaaaay? Another time I came for an oil change and a couple days later my car overheated. Turns out they forgot to top off my fluids like they're supposed to. That's not why my car overheated, but had they bothered to top my fluids off they would have seen my radiator fluid was bone dry and I woulda known there was a bigger issue and to take it to my mechanic immediately . Turns out I needed a new radiator cooling fan and thermostat. And then TODAY (right now,actually) I came for yet ANOTHER oil change. I got here right at 7am when they open. The girl looked annoyed that she already had a customer. Her energy sucked and she made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. She was very monotone, never once smiled and was overall more like a robot than a human being who works in customer service for the love of gawd. I was explaining to her that I was sooo overdue for an oil change and that my car (yes once again) had started overheating so I pulled over to check the oil and it was bone a$$ dry. She proceeds to tell me that getting my oil changed isn't gonna fix the overheating problem and that it's likely my radiator. Ummm, ok cooool. But I still want my oil changed, thanks. ANYway, I completely understand that we all have bad days. I have no idea what her morning before work was like or what she may or may not be going through in life, which is why I'm not gonna say her name. I don't wish to get her in any trouble. But if you happen to see this, I hope everything is ok and that if it's not, just know that it gets better, hang in there. If everything IS, in fact, ok, and you simply suck in general, are lacking basic customer service skills, lost the ability to smile and hate your job, DO A BETTER JOB AT FAKING IT. I mean, c'mooon. I would definitely avoid this place. Total waste of time trying to get inspection done. It seems like they are digging for things to fail your inspection. The crazy thing is that the place still charges you when they now you are not going to pass inspection. Nice job taking people money Take 5. I really think they should change the name on the company to Take 20 or 30. On top of that they make you get out of you clean car so that someone dirty can enter it. Went in for a state inspection. Having previously worked in the industry I check the saftey portions on my vehicle before I bring it to get inspected. I waited about an hour as they were busy and when my vehicle got in they informed me that my truck was a fail for wiper blades. I said you will need to show me why since I had checked them for damage based on the states criteria. They claimed that when they use my washer fluid the wipers do not completely remove all the water leaving one streak. No tears, no damage, and they were relatively new. They tried to sell me a set of blades which I refused because I refuse to be fleeced by shady inspectors. Went to Walmart purchased new blades to pass the inspection, and went back. I will be filing a complaint with DPS and encourage anyone else who fails for this reason to do the same as that is not how the criteria is laid out for the inspection. read more

My wife and I took our car here for a state inspection and oil change and they kept trying to convince us some of the parts in our car needed to be replaced (air filter and windshield wipers) and kept lowering the price to try to get us to buy them. I've been taking my vehicles to 19200 W Lake Houston Pkwy, Humble, TX for decades. I never had any issues with the inspection and almost always passed for the cost of the inspection. This time the technician showed me that the windshield wiper left a streak and he could not pass my inspection unless I replaced the wipers for $28 each. If you are looking for an obsessive attention to details, this is your place. For me, I will be looking for somewhere less eager to find a reason to upcharge for additional services. read more

PROCEED WITH CAUTION if you are seeking an inspection to renew your vehicle registration online. I had my car inspected last Thursday and, when told the credit card system was down before moving forward, sighed in relief and noted that the state system was down at the prior location where I attempted to get an inspection, so I was glad I simply needed to pay in cash. The inspection itself was expeditious and to my satisfaction. That is, until I went home and attempted to renew my registration online... daily... to no avail. Record of my inspection was not in the state system (confirmed by speaking with a representative of the state who told me that it should be there by the end of the business day inspected and advised me to give it more time). I could not reach anyone at Xpress Lube because the phone lines were busy or went unanswered. Today, I returned to Xpress Lube in person, and they informed me that their phones have been down since Wednesday (the day before my inspection), so the records could not be transmitted. While phone line issues are obviously out of their control, no one told me this prior to my inspection, even after my comment about the other location's state system being down. When I expressed my frustration to the manager today, he said that his staff had no way of knowing I intended to renew online. (WHAT?! In this day and age?!) Regardless, customers should be informed. More than 4 days behind, I had to physically go in person to get my registration renewed. To add salt to the wound, my attempt to process the renewal at Kroger or HEB, as suggested by the manager as a simple solution, was unsuccessful, so I spent hours at the county court house. I am fairly certain that most Texas drivers don't willingly choose that option. When all was said and done, it was an unexpected waste of a day that could have been avoided had Xpress Lube been honest with me from the get-go and turned me away. (I realize inspections are not revenue generators for them, but still... I will not be returning for any services in the future.) read more

The manager, Angel Anrubio, at this location is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I visited the location to have an inspection done. When I pulled up there was no wait for inspection bay and was motioned in-by a very polite employee, who went to let the manager (Angel Anrubio) know he had a customer for inspection. I could see the manager was sitting inside office/lobby area alone, and appeared to be playing on his phone. After waiting over 20 minutes with my car running ( I was instructed to leave it running while I waited) I looked at the bay next to me were others were working and three shrugged and the polite one came over and said our manager is "waiting for another employee (trained to do state inspections) to show up to work and do your inspection - he does this all the time" meaning rather than do it himself. Finally, after about 25 minutes the other employee who does inspection showed up to work. I tried to explain I had been there for 25 minutes sitting with the car running while the manager sat inside. By the time this employee finished the inspection I had been there almost an hour. There were six cars in line and over an hour wait, so not only was I affected by the terrible service of this manager, so we're all the ther customers that drove up after me and the employee doing the inspections I asked for the mana to come out to talk to me , uld see he and the other employee were laughing inside the lobby area before he came out. Anr The employees know this is a habit of Anrubio, as one of them said so. Obviously, Angel Anrubio needs more managerial, customer service training On a prior visit to get an oil change I had very poor service as well. Waiting 40 minutes only to find out they didn't have the oil my vehicle used only the superior high-grade that was triple the price, and in addition, would not honor a veteran discount, after I was told they would. On February 17, 2023, my husband took my truck for inspection for a renewal sticker at the Take Quick Oil, 5515 FM 1960 E, Humble, TX, where we regularly take our vehicles when they need inspection for renewal stickers. To make a long story short, the technician that inspected my truck, left his cell phone on the counter when my husband went to pay. My husband accidentally picked up his cell phone thinking it was his because they had identical cases. When my husband realized the mistake, he promptly went back to return the phone and apologize. As he pulled up, the technician walked over to the truck and my husband handed him the phone and attempted to apologize. The technician snatched the cellphone out of my husband's hand and said, "I'm not trying to hear that. You took my phone intentionally. We saw you on camera with your bitch ass. Get your mother fucking bitch ass out of here before we call the police" with 4 or 5 other technicians saying the same thing. I was unable to reach anyone at that location so contacted the corporate office to file a complaint. I am waiting for a response from a regional manager named Erick. As I explained to the customer representative, I understand the technician being upset about the cellphone. It was a mistake that my husband corrected. He was not trying to "steal" his cell, hence, I imagine he would not have brought it back. My primary concern is the response from the technicians. They have our personal information including address, telephone numbers, license plate number, etc. With that hostile response, I do not want any retaliation for a honest mistake. Loved this place for over 10 years but today i went in for a full sevice synthetic oil change and I am not happy with the service. Asked that they fill the windshield wiper fluid...ticket says they did...it was still empty when we got home. Ticket says radiator was checked...2qts low. Not sure what they really did as the ticket isn't a very good indicator. Did they change the oil? When i called, the "manager" said sorry...ill give you 8 bucks next time you come in. Well I had noticed a small puddle of oil under my car and when I checked under the hood I found out that they left the oil filter loose, they're didn't put the air filter cover back on right, it wasn't even latched properly. My Vehicle has never been the same! $4125 of damage. Must now replace Radiator, evap & recharge, water pump, heater core, coolant flush, coolant, thermostat, bleed system. - $4125!! The dealer told me someone had put the wrong coolant and the system was all gunked up. i have the pictures. I was smelling toxic fumes from my A/C after my last visit to Havoline express Lube. went back and they took no responsibility for it of course. 6 months later i could not take the smell anymore as it had penetrated my sinuses, skin and clothing whatever i was wearing while driving. There is no question in my mind that my car was negatively affected by my visit to this establishment. i am reaching out to their corporate office in hopes for some justice. i will be happy to remove this review once they pay for my $4125 bill they caused. read more

Nice enough waiting area,with tv and coffee. The guys are pretty efficient and professional. I've been coming here for oil changes for about a year now, and never felt like I was being lied to. As with any auto shop, know your vehicle when you take it in, know if you are due fuel injector cleaning, etc. they will offer things to you that they deem are due, just know whether they are before you buy them. I've been taking my car here for oil changes for, I'd say, the last year at least. I've never had questionable service until the last two visits. The gentleman who worked on my car in the bay completely invaded my personal space. I'm a female in my 30s, and I felt offended. Firstly, he opened my car door and popped my hood. I could have done that myself. Secondly, at the point where he needed my mileage, he put himself through my open window and reached for my keys (still in the ignition). He was three inches from my face! I asked what he was doing and he said he needed the mileage, so I turned the keys for him. The last straw was the total he tried to charge me. I turned down the engine filter replacement, yet that somehow got added into my amount owed. When I asked what made the bill so high, he said the oil change and the filter, and I reminded him I didn't want get a new filter. After that, the price was adjusted. The same guy who's always been there and who has been extremely polite and personable took my card to charge it. I wish he'd do the oil changes but I think he's mostly doing the payment stuff. I want to keep coming back to this location because there's seldom a wait and they don't push me into pricier options, but this was crossing the line and I left extremely frustrated. Got my oil changed here around 6:30 pm a week ago and afterwards drove straight home. The next morning went outside to find oil all down my driveway. Come to find out they had not tightened the drain plug properly and it was on the ground underneath my vehicle. I put the plug back in properly and had to go buy new oil from the auto parts store so that my vehicle would have oil in it... I called these people the next day and management proceeded to tell me that I was lying and there was no way I could prove it happened (even though I had pictures of the oil all down my driveway). I still have oil stains on my cement, and I would not recommend this place to my enemy... read more
