I would give this place a zero star if I could. But the customer service was Somewhat decent. That's why I gave it the one star. I went in with all confidence because I've been to this place before in plenty of work vehicles that I've driven to get the oil changed but now I will never ever come back to this place, I am Sorely disappointed in the condition in which my vehicle was left. When I came to the place, the bottom part of my vehicle was intact. Everything was working fine and driving normally until I went to a show that evening. As I backed up, I heard a scraping noise underneath my car. I didn't think anything of it until I got To a Gas station to get some snacks. Had switched to this place to try it out. Relatively quick. Oversell I get but it is tiring. Still was overall happy with service. Went today and sat in line over an hour. They moved some folks around lines based on who would finished sooner. They stopped moving cars around and a car that arrived after I did, was moved into a bay. I gave up and left. My girlfriend took our VW Atlas to Take 5 in Hutto for a simple oil change before an out of town trip. The service was performed by Austin and Keely. That evening we were running errands and when we parked I noticed smoke billowing from under the hood. I popped the hood and the smell of burning smoke hit me in the face like a fist. I looked under the vehicle and oil was covering the skid plate, undercarriage, and exhaust manifold. The undercarriage was covered in oil from the engine compartment to the rear bumper. Oil was dripping onto the pavement like a leaky faucet. We called Take 5 and limped our vehicle back to the shop. The service manager, Lucas, inspected the vehicle and said he had never seen a leak this severe where oil covered so much of the undercarriage. While Lucas, Austin and another service tech went to work identifying the issue, they spoke loudly seemingly intending for us to hear, saying Keely failed to put the gasket on when she installed the new oil filter...this is something I'd expect from my 16-year-old trying his oil change. Cool guys, blame the girl, way to take ownership. They also discussed another employee and how incompetent he is, stating he can't even perform post-service safety checks by himself, much less perform any services. Very unprofessional to badmouth coworkers in front of customers especially when you're admitting you employ techs who are so woefully inept they can't perform their job duties. After taking about an extra hour from our day to recognize the issue, return to the shop, and get it corrected, we were given a whopping 25% off coupon to compensate us for the inconvenience. When we got home, I noticed the fresh oil stain in my otherwise pristine driveway from the leaking oil when my girlfriend previously parked. I scrubbed it on my hands & knees with solvent but it didn't come out, so now I have a permanent reminder of how terrible Take 5 is. The next morning while we were on our out of town trip leaving the Austin area on an 80 mph toll road, the skid plate flew off, bouncing around under our car before becoming an irretrievable piece of road debris. Keely had nothing to do with the skid plate, so who are you going to blame now, fellas? We called Take 5 corporate call center and were given a case number, but as I was asking a question, the call taker hung up. Have been here 4 times for oil changes. Was great when it first opened. First two times were quick and great service. Last two have been by far the worst place I've ever gone for an oil change. Went back today because thought maybe it was a fluke and had a coupon. Waited an hour and a half only two cars in front of me. Then they take in a car that was behind me first and then tell me to move behind them. Then after I move the next car behind me got into the other bay I was lined up at before me again. Last time was over 30 minutes with the only car ahead of me already in the bay. If you want to waste your time come here but if you want a good, quick, great service, oil change go somewhere else that values your time and service. A little update, the second car that got in in front of me, the manager (I believe he said his name is Tobin?) said don't worry you didn't get cut. I already did by one other car but sure. He said we won't start that car until we start yours. Guess what, that car was done within me being in the bay for 10 minutes. Final timing it took TWO HOURS by the time I left and no discount no nothing. DO NOT waste your time. At the end he asked how my service was which I said terrible and he said awesome. I'm not even sure where to start, I arrived at about 7pm for an oil change. I only went there because my son is leaving for college in the morning and I was trying to take care of all of his car maintenance before he heads back. Well after getting off of work late I went to Take5 in Hutto. The service was piss poor from my arrival. The guy who's name I did not get walked up to me with an attitude and asked me what I wanted, I advised him of the oil change needed, I showed him a coupon that I had from there website, he just shook his head as if I did something wrong when his company offers coupons. Nevertheless he directed me into the Bay Area for the oil change. So he tells me that they can only put in the oil that the manufacturers recommend which is fine, however I advised him that this was my first time doing business with them I normally go elsewhere however it was late & they close at 8pm which was great. So I explained to him what I normally get just to make sure my terminology matches theirs bc I understand everyone is different. He walked off mid convo and got someone else. The other guy came and explained to me how they operate and what products and brands they use which was fine. He asked for my information Name, Email, phone & Address. I provided that information to him loud & clear. He took my payment and brought me my receipt that had everything spelled incorrectly and whatever spelling of my address that he came up with after me telling him And spelling it out. Fast forward to my oil change being done, they were literally playing under my hood as if I can't see or hear them. No fluids were topped off such ass windshield wiper etc that was stated on their website. As they were cleaning off the orange marker from the windshield they were talking very disrespectfully about the customers & Job. It made me super uncomfortable. I will not be returning!!!! However remaining professional and courteous goes a long way. As I was leaving the guys stood there to direct me out, but when I went to pass them up other rude remarks were made, I'll be honest after leaving I do not feel confident that my oil change was done correctly or properly, I almost want a refund bc this was absolutely unacceptable and I do not like they way I was treated. First time at the 98 Chris Kelley Blvd location in Hutto recently. I've used other locations with no issues so my review is limited to this particular location in Hutto, TX. I've taken my truck to other Take 5 locations since it was new. This time something was different. They spent almost an hour under my truck banging on things, whispering to each other and acting odd. We asked the weekend "manager" what the problem was and he said "there's no problem, I didn't see anything wrong". He should have been honest and told us they were having trouble putting a plastic cover back in place. A few days later I found the cover hanging from the bottom of my truck dragging on the ground with evidence of vinyl zip ties hanging from the truck. As I mentioned before, I've owned this truck since new. There has never been a zip tie holding my truck together. My oil changes have never taken more than 10 minutes, EVER. They flat out lied and tried to cover it up. This location makes the whole organization look bad. Just be honest with your customers and explain what happened. read more

To be continued,,,,, after the night mare of the windshield wipers., I had to go back today Sunday my wife with me because we went and had a late lunch together got caught in the rain and the windshield wipers that they put on the passenger side we're not touching the window because when they remove my old ones they bent the arms I could have easily fixed it yes but I wanted to go back and show them what they had done to my windshield wipers on my Hummer. So that way as a future reference they don't do that to anybody else's luckily it wasn't my driver side so I can still see the road. But the young man that is the manager is the one that came out and take care of it personally himself not the young lady and handle it graciously and I told him thank you it was very grateful that he came out but I told him the only reason I came back is I wanted him to see what was done to my windshield wipers arms but all said and done he squared away hopefully made a mental note the end. read more

Don't tell me to call or email because we have already don't that and you're just jerking us around. Within 5 minutes of leaving from Take5 in Hutto, my daughter and son in laws engine in their 2019 Hyundai blew up. It's obvious that either they did not film it with oil or they left the oil cap off. They didn't know what to do so my kids had the car towed to Hyundai, and Hyundai cannot look at it for 6 weeks. It's taken daily attempts of contact to get them to respond at all. They want us to pay to tow it- again- to their shop so they can diagnose it. Initially I agreed but they refuse to pay for the towing. Since they won't even do the right thing and tow the car, No, clearly they can't change oil correctly so I am not allowing them to diagnose their own mistake. We had to go there to get a response and an employee asked us what day it happened. We told them and the guy said "F%ing (name of manager)" then proceeded to elaborate that (name of manager) quit on that day and had intentionally sabotaged NUMEROUS cars. We asked for a rental car while we work this out and they told us to rent the car ourselves and they will reimburse us. These are young parents now sharing a car and adding 4 hours a day additional travel due to carpooling across town. They are losing work hours and time with their baby. They cannot afford a rental car- the cheapest we can find is $100 a day. We can't even get a phone call from the owner. My next action Monday is towing the car to a reputable mechanic, at my cost, renting a car for my kids because I can afford it, and suing them. We'll be compensated for the motor replacement, lost time and inconvenience too. I have given them every chance to resolve. read more

After waiting over 30 minutes behind one truck I was told they didn't have my filter and couldn't change my oil. They advertise 10 minute oil change but clearly can't come close to that. read more

During my oil change the "crew" dropped multiple items. On my way home, my car was smoking a little. Once I got almost home the oil pressure fell from 30 to 7. Fortunately, I was near a mechanic shop. The outside temperature was in the upper 90's. When I called Take 5, I was told to wait for them to get equipment and come see what the issue was. I was over 45 miles from them at 5pm, with groceries in my car. I was threatened with voiding my warranty if I did not sit in my car in the heat until they arrived. I chose to have the mechanic check it out. Take 5 did not remove the old O ring on the filter, preventing a complete seal. Why would I want a team of idiots to come figure out their stupidity. 3 weeks later the manager has not made contact with me as requested. Obviously, the incompetence of the team is not important to the management. Take 5 corporate responded a week later, again threatening to void the warranty if I let anyone else work on my vehicle. This is absolutely incredulous. I recommend you never trust a Take 5 oil change facility. read more
